What is a Convertible Bra?

A convertible bra has detachable straps that can be placed in different configurations to work under different necklines. A fully convertible bra has straps that can be removed entirely. It can be worn as a strapless, conventional strap style, a cross back, off-the-shoulder, one shoulder, and possibly halter style with just a few strap adjustments. Bras where straps are sewn to the tops of the cups but detached in the back are considered convertible. And bras with a "j-hook" style attachment on the back straps are classified as a convertible bra style as well.

Convertible Bras

Switch up your straps and travel with just one bra style that does it all.

If you need no-show support with clean lines that will give you a flawless silhouette under the skimpier and more revealing styles of tops you may reserve for summer or special occasions, try a backless bra style. This bra style gives incredible support and adds incredible versatility to your wardrobe. Low backless bras are a great option for when you want to keep your bra band in the back out of sight.

Versatility is a convertible bra's advantage. Having one in your wardrobe means you have a very good chance of having a bra to wear once you get home with a new top and realize it has a challenging neckline issue. Of course it you like showing off bra straps, this bra style too can give you a variety of ways to have your bra straps show.  Think Carrie Brandshaw!

This convertible bra style also boasts benefits to the wearer.  If you have sloping shoulders and constantly struggle with your straps falling down, converting your straps to crisscross guarantees this issue goes away.  And, if you struggle with shoulder pressure pain, you can adjust your straps to avoid this problem area.

At HerRoom, you can find the perfect backless bra with support to make all your most revealing and challenging styles work, including open-back dresses, backless shirts, low-cut dresses, halter tops, and cut-out tanks – just to name a few!

This bra style is a terrific addition to any woman's waardrobe or even for those looking for flexibility with when they have specific needs stylistically.Â
