Bra Styles
By Tomima
You know your bra size. But, do you know your breasts? Sounds like a funny question, but certain bras styles and features work better for some breasts and not for others.
Answer the following questions, and I promise your new bras will make you look younger and thinner!
We are sorry we are unable to assist you further.
The word chemise is French for “shirt,” and in fact, the chemise nightgown is the precursor to the modern shirt. In the Middle Ages, women's sleepwear was typically a chemise — or shift — under their long dresses to ensure the gowns stayed clean and uncontaminated by body oil. As such, the lace chemise was the only piece of clothing that women washed regularly.
Modern-day underwear — bras, panties, etc. — eventually replaced the chemise as the first layer of clothing worn by women. That said, the chemise nightgown still exists as sleepwear today.
Women's chemise sleepwear refers to any type of shirt-like nightgown that hangs straight from the shoulders and fits loosely at the waist. Chemise gowns are usually sleeveless and may come with adjustable straps, but they typically don’t include buttons or fasteners.
Our chemise sleepwear collection features a broad range of lingerie, including most babydolls, nightgowns, night shirts, slips, and nighties. If you’re looking for chemise styles that suit your varying moods and needs, then make sure to explore our vast collection of chemise nightgowns.
Whatever fabric you want to sleep in, HerRoom has the right chemise waiting for you. If you want a simple yet comfortable garment, our satin and silk gowns will be your best options. If you’re after a more romantic look, then you’ll love our lace chemises.
Our color selection, of course, is as extensive as the fabric selection of our women’s chemises. We have subtle neutral shades, such as nude, ivory, and light gray. And if you like dark colors, we have chemises in black and navy hues. If you prefer feminine shades, we also have nightgowns in colors pink and purple.
HerRoom offers a variety of chemise nightgowns from different brands, including Amanda Rich, Hanro, and Shadowline. Check out our chemise selection today and enjoy free shipping on orders $75 up.
Chemises typically fit slightly loose due to their design. As such, we recommend you choose your normal dress size when buying one.
You can wear a bra under a chemise if you want to for additional support or coverage. However, if you’re just going to bed and you don’t typically wear a bra to sleep, it may be better to go braless so you’re more comfortable.
If you want to, many chemise nightgowns are stylish enough to be worn outside. All you need to do is layer them with your favorite blazer or cardigan. Be sure to complete the look by adding some jewelry and heels.
