I have scoliosis so my rib cage is now larger and I am 4 inches shorter than I used to be, with the telescoping occurring in the torso, but the actual bra cup size is the same. I purchased a size 42DDD and 44DDD to try them on for size. The armholes of both bras were very small and tight on my shoulders, even when loosened as far as they would go. The fabric was scratchy -- not soft like some had described. I was disappointed because so many reviews said it was a great bra. I have fibromyalgia and have to have soft materials and can't wear anything too tight. I have tried numerous bras but have many problems finding armholes big enough. I have an allergy to latex, but up till the past 6 months it didn't affect my wearing pretty bras. After having a rash develop under my breasts and trying various sorts of remedies, I did a search to see if anyone else had this issue. What I found about how bras are constructed shocked me (insecticide on bras made in China or Taiwan?? Formaldehyde??!!!). So I tried this bra and so far so good. Going up in size from my "measured" size of 44D to a 44DD made the difference on fit and comfort. Perhaps this bra is great for small sizes....but when I put it on, it was a sloppy mess. It also was quite small around..making it extremely tight. Really bad fit even though I got my usual size, and I have been professionally bra measured. Playtex...never liked their bra's, can never get them to fit me right... so I don't know why I got this...it looked comfortable. One more company where sizes vary from style to style. This is my first wire-free bra. In my opinion, probably the best wire-free bra for us gals with a serious rack. Comfortable, but wide band under the cups keeps bra in place. Don't know if it is the band or the material, but perspiring and rashes under the cup area don't seem to be an issue anymore. Nice cut and coverage up into the axilla area prevents any bulging over outer edge of upper cups. Straps are comfortable but occasionally seem to loosen a little while wearing. I bought this bra in both a size 40DDD and a 42DD. Probably a 40DD would be just right. It is comfortable as bras go, but the band curls up under the bust and stays that way. I have gained weight recently, so needed a bigger bra. Because I have hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), I got the 42 so I could wear it over a lightweight cotton camisole to absorb the perspiration. This is about the only way it is comfortable for me. I'm still a little undecided on this bra - when I first put it on, it was so tight! The fabric doesn't "give" very much. But, now, after a week or so, it's giving me a little more room to breathe. I'm wondering if I should have gotten a different size - maybe a 40 instead of a 38? I tend to wear my bras for many hours a day, and this one is comfortable for the majority of that time! Finally! After many years, and literally dozens of failed "trial" purchases to replace the discontinued Bali 3821, Playtex came out with a model that is "almost" as perfect in fit, style and comfort. It doesn't have the silky smoothness and softness of the Bali 3821, but the Playtex 4159 is wonderfully supportive, well constructed, and comfortable for someone who is large breasted and can't wear wires. I bought a total of ten (10) to ensure I don't run out any time soon! My Balis are in real, real sad shape now. This is another very comfortable Playtex bra. They have made huge strides with their fabric content, and this entire bra breathes well, is soft, and yet rigid enough that it holds its' shape even after a long day of holding up heavy breasts. The shape is pretty flattering, though the breast separation could be better. It is very true to size and the band doesn't cause huge back rolls, which is nice. For a light sports bra, it is perfect. I have heavy breasts...need support and comfort...hate underwire bras. I also hate trying bras on in the stores...takes too much time ....and often don't have the largers sizes anyway. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery I discovered I had a tape allergy. In searching for a comfortable cotton bra that did not have latex I found the Playtex 4159 bra. It is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. I found these bras at HerRoom, they were delivered quickly and were exactly what I needed. To me this is the answer to anyone who is having breast surgery. I will never go back to my other bras, as a matter of fact I threw then all out.I hope Playtex will make this bra forever. I love this I made the purchase because of your information on fabric content I have a latex allergy and am braless most of the time and for my size that ain't a pretty picture. So far I have not had an outbreak of any kind and am so happy about that. It seams not only to be allergy free but non- irritating or abrading as well. I have always had a problem finding bras that gave me support and comfort without an underwire .This style is by far the best I have ever bought . I even wrote to Playtex to let them know . Hope they make it in Black M from Philadelphia ,Pennsylvania
