What is a Wireless Bra?

A wireless or wire-free bra is free of underwires. This bra style is also called by some as a soft-cup bra. This bra style gives a comfortable and relaxed fit. To provide support, a wireless bra will have a wider underband, more breast coverage, and a taller center panel.  This bra style is not able to tack between breasts and therefore does not give a defined breast definition. Wireless bras are bra-sized. Wireless bralettes are general sized.

Wireless Bras

A comfortable classic

A wireless bra is a bra style that doesn’t have underwires sewn into the bottoms of the cups. Because they don’t have rigid underwires, they’re also commonly referred to as soft cup bras or wirefree bras. The wireless construction of the cups makes this bra style a favorite for leisure, sleep, and all-day wear. Since underwires can be uncomfortable for long-time wear, many women are flocking to wireless bras – or at least have at least a couple in their lingerie wardrobes.

Over the years, wireless bra design has come a long way. They’re not just for your grandma anymore!  Just because a bra doesn’t have an underwire doesn’t mean it won’t give you plenty of support and a great shape. With designs made with special features such as soft, molded cups, lace, breathable cotton, padding, wider straps, and more, there is a vast variety of wireless bras to choose from at HerRoom.

Browse our selection of leisure bra styles we know you’ll love – including wireless contour bras, wireless sports bras, leisure plus size bras, wireless maternity bras, wireless nursing bras, wireless mastectomy bras, padded wireless bras, bralettes and bandeaus – just to name a few.

Popular types of wireless bras

Wireless contour (or T-shirt) bras create a smooth and seamless shape under the clothes with soft padded cups.

Wireless sports bras have a soft cup structure and are made to give you breathable support and comfort while minimizing the bounce impact your breasts experience during physical activity. You can choose from high impact, medium impact, and low impact options based on your needs.

Wireless maternity and nursing bras are very popular among women because they give you comfort and support when your breasts change during pregnancy and during nursing. With soft cups made with breathable fabrics like cotton, adjustable straps and convenient snaps, a good wireless maternity and nursing bra is a must-have for expectant and new moms.

Wireless mastectomy bras give you great shape and support. Many mastectomy bras have built in pockets in the cups to hold a prosthesis or pad in place.Â
