Hanes

Hanes is most often associated with providing comfort for everyday wear. Hanes bras, panties, shapewear, hosiery and socks let women walk out the door in the morning knowing they look good, but mostly knowing they are going to make it through the day without being annoyed by their undergarments. In 1979 Sara Lee Corporation acquired the operating divisions of Hanes Corporation. Sara Lee Hosiery, Hanes Hosery and L'eggs Products, Inc., and they have all been under the same corporate umbrella since 1987.

Celebrity spokesmen Michael Jordan and Charlie Sheen cashed in on the Hanes comfort drive. In 2005 the new ad campaign featuring the slogan, "Look who we've got our Hanes on now," featured other celebrities including Damon Wayans, Matthew Perry and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Each year the campaign grew to include more celebrities. Their point is that no one can resist the comfort and style of Hanes.

Hanes teamed up with the Salvation Army for their Virtual Sock Drive that gave online users a way to give free of cost by clicking a "Donate Now" button on Facebook. Up to 500,000 socks were donated to charity through this drive. HanesBrands as a whole has received the Decade of Excellence Award from the United Way for over ten years of charitable donations.
