The minimal coverage makes the bikini great for reducing tan lines while sunbathing and the low-rise hip of many of the bottoms flatter the figure in a very sexy and appealing way. Many bikini styles have side ties on the bottoms and neck and back ties on the tops. This makes adjusting your fit and changing in and out of your swimsuit quick and easy.

Bikini tops

The most well-known women's bikini top is the classic triangle. It typically ties at the neck and back, and the cups are a triangular shape. These tops come in different designs and support levels. If you’re a smaller cup size, a regular unlined or lightly padded triangle top should suit you. If you’re larger in the bust (say, a D cup and up), there are more heavily-padded cups and bra-sized tops with underwires that are specially designed to give you extra support and modesty.

Another popular style is the bandeau bikini top. Bandeau tops are usually strapless, have a drawstring, or have convertible straps, and a band with an inner elastic strip to help keep it in place. Again, if you have a larger bust, look for bandeau tops with more padding, underwires and straps that will give you the lift and support you need.
