Half slips have two styles today - gathered at the waist with elastic, or made out of stretch microfiber with no waistband. The latter provides a totally smooth look under tight-fitting skirts. Worn under sheer skirts, it reduces transparency. Beneath unlined skirts, it prevents chafing and gives a smooth look. Half slips in lengths of mid thigh, top of kneecap and mid calf should cover most fashion requirements. However, if you like short fashions, you'll love having a 12" half slip handy.
