I could not believe how small around this bra was. I fit a 32 H just fine in Elomi brand. I couldn’t even fasten it. And 32 is my under bust measurement. The cups are a bit odd too.

High sides are comfortable, but the cup is larger on this model than on Wacoal models wuth different strap placement. A bit too roomy in the top half if the cup.

The bra seems fine, but it is very different in size to other brands. 40I is my standard size in three other brands, but I couldn't come close to wearing this one. It seems to be about 2 sizes smaller.

Beautifully made items but bra bands made too short around. Last couple of orders were disappointing. I measure 40 under bust and ordered accordingly but needed 2 extenders to hook bra. Orgered 42 and still too short, Returning 3 bras and will try 44. Called Customer Service and was told this was common and to order larger band! Very disappointed!

I was fitted for this bra locally and the salesperson told me the seaming would disappear after I had worn it for a while. Not true since the seam is still lumpy and bumpy under clothing. Because one Breast is larger than the other, I needed the Next cup up. I am pleased with the overall bra but would prefer sturdier straps where they meet the design in front. This is surprisingly comfortable. It gives you a perky shape which admittedly takes some time to get used to but looks good under most of my wardrobe. It's the first Wacoal bra I ever bought but definitely won't be the last. The one thing I DID notice is I wear the same size in every other bra/brand but the cup was a little too big. I have this bra and love it. But, the new ones I ordered (they were even the same model number). When hooking the bra why on the left side was so much shorter than is necessary. This bra did not give me cone breasts. It supported me very well, and there was a retro feel to the shape in the nicest way. It made me want to go out a get a sweater twin set. It created average separation, but the girls were noticeably facing opposite directions, as in the 1950s or early 1960s. The lace didn't scratch or itch, and it handles machine washing w/ hang drying just fine. There is a steep break-in period. To keep pressure off the non-stretch straps, Wacoal designers made the elasticized band tighter than usual. The way to close it seems to be to pull the front up as high as possible while pulling the back down as far as you can so the bra back is over a narrower part of your back. Then adjust it to where you need it. After a few wearings it stretches out some. It's so pretty that, to me, the trouble was worth it. It's technically not my best bra, but it's sort of a guilty pleasure. Laura from Pittsburgh

Wow! Reasonably comfortable for an underwire bra, and fits like a dream. Since menopause, my breasts slide under my arms--this bra puts them back front and center where the used to be, so my clothes fit as they used to and I no longer have the constant nagging backache that develped when my breasts changed. Beautifully made and designed bra - wish it fit but alas, it didn't. There were odd gaps or bulges in the fabric between the shoulder strap and the under arm area. No amount of shifting or readjusting of the girls in the cups helped. I did consider sewing a tuck in those spots myself... but then thought, hey for the price of this bra, I shouldn't have to do this!

Wacoal Response: Hi Andrea, We have great news for you! This sounds like an easy fix, anytime fabric pulls or puckers from the strap to the top half of the cup it simply means the size is wrong. To make sure your size has not changed, wrap a tape measure around your rib cage directly under the breasts, make sure this is snug. Add 2 inches to the number (40 inches would be a 42 band.) If you find your band should be smaller (we want it to fit snug and parallel to the ground)try ordering a 42DDD. If your band stayed the same, simply go down a cup size, this naturally runs full in the cup. Sometimes trying a fabric with more elasticity will eliminate the fabric puckering as well, like Clear and Classic Full Figure Underwire Bra 855244, Basic Beauty Full Figure Underwire Bra 855192, and Awareness Full Figure Seamless Bra 85567. This bra is well-made, and offers full coverage. It is a little small in the cups for me, as I am a full on top shape, and the upper cup on this is too closed. I cannot size up, however, as the projection of the cups and wire width were fine. After trying a number of bras, I think that I am simply between 32DDD and 32G in American bras, cup-wise. Also, the band is too big for me, as I wear a 30-band. Some reviewers had said that it ran small, but not small enough for me. I can wear it on the middle setting. This will serve as a sports bra for me, since it is only a little small in the cups. It is of very high quality, and is well-made. For reference, the Panache Envy is my favorite bra, in 30FF. I have been wearing the Retro Chic bra almost exclusively for more than a year now. I have bought it in almost every color. It is the best bra for lifting and separating I have found. I also love the adjustable straps as I am short. My only issue is with the quality. I wash them gently in garment bags and rotate them as well, but about half of my Retro Chic bras have worn out way too quickly. One of the underwires has broken through the fabric on one side or the other at the end between my breasts. This bra fits well and has high boned sides for extra support. The back has 3 hooks. It gives good lift and provides good full-figured coverage, so there is no spillage at the top of the bra. The bras are very cute and sexy but were VERY uncomfortable on me. I normally am a 32 but I'm thinking a 34 would be better. This is my everyday bra. I have about 2 of every color. It is very thin, which is nice for summer. My only complaints are that I wish it were seamless and covered my nipples. I love the bra but it runs very large and full in both band and cup. I'm usually a 34D and never on the last hook of a 34. In this bra I barely fill the cups and after 3-4 wearing I need to sew (take-in) the band as I started on the tightest hooks. This is my third Retro Chic, so you can see I really like them. My first bra i bought at the local department store, and at first I was not to sure. It seemed a little too big in the top of the cup. Then it was much better after washing it several times. I think that maybe the cups had been stretched out by some try ons from ladies who were too full. Another good reason to buy at HerRoom! Must admit though I became more diligent about scooping all breast tissue into the cups. anyway this is a beautiful and flattering bra and also very comfortable. It does give a retro shape instead of the the more usual rounded shape. Actually I rather like that as does my husband. The support is fantastic for us larger girls while still being sexy and I love the wider back area, some bras (I'm talking to you Chantelle) are pretty and look good in front but turn around and there's only a little skinny band but that's not a problem with the Retro Chic bra YAY! Fit great in the cups but I need a smaller band. I wish they made it in a 30DDD. I was used to wearing other bras and they are made at least 3 times smaller and have very shallow wide cups. Due to projection of my breasts I had to get a 38DD in the Full Coverage and hem it down to a 30 band. But the underwires are made for full figure not average figure so it didn't work right for my small frame. I had tried the 36DD at another store and the cup was so tight that it made my breasts sore. This bra is perfect. Narrow underwires and made for an average figure. I never thought I could find a good fitting bra until I tried this one. I will definitely be buying more. I just wish they had a bra like this that was lightly lined/padded. The seam doesn't look good under fitted tops. Taylor from USA

Very similar to Flower Bali Underwire, except a bit more sheer, w/ slightly narrower straps and a bottom band that is indented at the bottom between the cups. The Bali is as good or better for the sizes it offers, and shows through fewer types of clothes. This is a beautiful, lightweight bra that gives a nice rounded shape. I gave it three stars for two reasons: First, the band runs small and the cups run quite large. I am usually a 30FF (sometimes 30G) and the 32 was quite snug, and the 32DDD cups fit great even though I should be at least the equivalent volume of a 32F UK or 32DDDD US. Second, the seamed cups and my nipples show quite prominently through everything I own. I had some wrinkling in the center of the cups no matter how I adjusted, despite the wires being perfect, and the cups came up quite high. First of all, I hate minimizers! I think I look curvier and better proportioned if my girls aren't mashed back under my armpits. This bra is great! Everything is held up and out front. Because of the seams, you can't wear it with a tee, but it's working great with winter sweaters and if I'm layering. ggarland

this is my favorite bra! Thank you wacoal for making g cup bras that are actually sexy and give proper support. very nice support and separation. fully contains the breast and no under arm spill over. will definitely be ordering more of these bras. my only complaint is that i wish wacoal would put wider straps on larger cup size bras. it is a lot of weight for the slim straps to hold up and digs in and leaves marks by the end of the day. janice from college park,md usa

Looks prettier online. Once on the body, the lace comes up too high on the breast area so if you wear a scoop neck shirt, your bra will show. The lace colors are not as attractive as they seem online either. The white at the top is very bright. I bought the 34DD but it was too big and that is usually what I wear, maybe a 34D would have been better but I couldn't get over the lace contrasting colors and how high the lace went up the chest.

Vendor Response: This bra does come up a little higher in the throat area on the DD and DDD cups. You need to try a style with a lower profile. I suggest 85112 or 851143. Liz from Virginia

initially I didn't like the puckering but after washing and wearing a few times its become a favorite! It somehow molds to your figure offers excellent support and a perky though not too pointy profile. Much nicer than the droopy boob sinking in the cup look! AJ from CT

Absolutely the best fit I have had since a teenager (& slightly less 'matronly'). The center lays flat on my sternum and this hasn't happened in 30 years. Wacoal has always been good to me but this one has actually been made for me. My figure just lost 10 years with this perfect lift bra. This is the first bra I have found to fit properly in 20 years. It does everything it says it will & more. It gives complete coverage, great lift, doesn't ride up & is comfortable. My clothes fit better with this bra because of the superior lift. I look better in my clothing as well. It also comes in the widest range of sizes out there. LOVE this bra! LOVE it! Fits beautiful and looks beautiful on .....comfortable and also pretty.....I am extremely hard to fit.......and this fits like it was made especially for me.........I am 5'2" 128 lbs.........and wear a 32DDD It has taken me literally years to find bras that fit.........I can't thank Her Room enough for being soooo very patient with me ordering so many sizes and styles and returning and re-ordering........and I have found 2 bras that I love! SWEET!! I will indeed be ordering more of these 2 bras in blk and perhaps another color than what I have....but love the color I have.....But, do need a black........If you are as hard to fit as I am....try these styles.......you'll be happy you did........yes, they are very expensive.......but it's best to have one or 2 great fitting bras and be happy and comfortable than to have 10 ill fitting bras and be miserable. This is a beautiful bra and provides very good uplift. Only complaint would be the horizontal line across the cups is quite prominent and shows through most shirts but this should be less of a concern with heavier clothing of fall and winter seasons. Meanwhile I wear a thin camisole under summer shirts and this is an adequate fix. Doesn't completely eliminate the lines but its manageable with a camisole. AJ from CT

Initially thought the cups were too big. Later fine-tuned my technique in trying on bras, and realized the cups were actually too small! Ladies, make sure you "swoop and scoop" your breast flesh into the cups. It makes all the difference in the world. For me anyway, a bra can actually appear too big at first glance, until I swoop and scoop, and then find I have bulging flesh in the center. (My breasts are very wide set and wide in shape). I "swooped and scooped" my way into a 34E and 34F in this same bra, and I STILL had bulging in the center. Finally, I tried this in 34G and it was "too much bra". The cups were just too big for me at that point, coming up way too far into my armpits. Jennifer
