I ordered 2 pairs of Petite Size ...one black and one beige. They were shipped and arrived within a week. I am 5'6 in with a small frame and narrow shoulders.Have worn shoulder pads for many years. The new pads work best in more snug jersey type shirts and matte materials. The petite size is an updated look . nancy from 67235

These are great - have been looking for years to replace my old foam pads. They are just enough to give me a good shoulder line and keep my bra straps from digging into my shoulders. They look natural and are small enough to be comfortable. I've worn them about 2 weeks and will order more. Alinana from Stony Brook, NY

I ordered two different items, both shoulder pads were exactly the same. I was disappointed that the flaps to secure them with the bra strap was NOT like the large ones that I ordered previously, and therefore do not stay on.

Not what I expected. These are harder and a different shape then shoulder pads I have. I got the petite but the slim line probably would have been a much better choice.

I bought both the petite and slimline shoulder pads. It was not the material I wanted but they are useful. I am getting use to them as I wear them every day. I do not use the shoulder flaps. Maybe after a little wear or wash, they won't be so hard/stiff. Rita from Arizona

I am disappointed because I cannot get the shoulder pad to latch on to my bra strap.

I am a small shouldered, larger hipped woman, and shoulder pads are an essential part of my wardrobe! they make everything I wear look "sharp" and balanced...until I found this site that sells them I had one pair with velcro that constantly slipped out of blouses and etc...these stay put and make all my clothes fit like a dream! These pads are too difficult to position using the flaps. I think they're better suited for petite sized shoulders.

The Natural Response: The shoulder pads can be used without the flaps, but they will not stay in position as well. We have never been told that using the flaps is difficult.Extra care must to be taken when putting the flaps under the bras and removing them because they are made of foam. BC from Harrisburg, PA

The material is okay. I wished I had ordered standard as the petite don't make much of a difference on me. But I got WHAT I ordered. I also wish the flap that connect under the bra straps were a little longer - some bra straps are wide, and it doesn't work as well. I have worn them once. I received my order in a timely order and did not have to wait long for the product. Thank You!

The Natural Response: Correct! If you want to see a difference, I would suggest going with the regular size which gives you a 3/4" lift, whereas the petite will only give you about 1/2" lift. Judith from Clinton, IA USA

I had these shoulder pads back in the eighties and wore them all the time. I was thrilled when I found these again. Unfortunately, I am not having the same success. I think it is maybe because I am not used to wearing shoulder pads anymore. However, I am persevering because I love the look. For today's look, even the slimline ones look too thick, whereas I am looking for a more subtle look, and these are a bit much. Would love it if they could make a thinner version. I did stick velcro on them as they do move. I refuse to use the flap underneath a bra strap. I cannot find a way to make them both stay in place.

The Natural Response: The slimline shoulder pad is one of the thinnest on the market today. To keep the shoulder pad in place, the flap has to go under the bra strap. Malone from Colorado

I am reviewing your shoulder pads. And let me tell you I love, love, love them. These are the best shoulder pads I have ever worn! I love them. After wearing these shoulder pads only three times, the flaps that go under my bra straps began to tear.

The Natural Response: Because the shoulder pads are made of foam, great care must be taken in removing the flaps from underneath the bra straps to keep them from tearing. Jan from Buffalo, NY USA

The pads are too stiff and the flap has the open end facing the wrong way making it almost impossible to insert the bra strap. This is the first and last time I will buy these pads. I have worn another online brand for decades and will go back to it. This other brand is also less expensive and lasts quite a long time. Rosemarie from Los Angeles/CA/USA

I have very small sloping shoulders and these shoulder pads help my clothes look better and give them a better fit. Although I have to trim the pads because of my small shoulders, I like the thickness of the Regular size. Thank you HerRoom, I have been looking for Womens Shoulder Pads for sometime now and was very happy to have found your site. I was very concerned they would not be of good quality and would be very flimsy. I ordered two pair and absolutely love them....they fit well, very sturdy and complete any outfit I wear. Very disappointed with this product. The first time I wore the shoulder pads the flap tore.

Bought the Petite and Regular from your site recently. They are high quality; Not crazy about the yellow foam (foams generally turn yellow); On the middle of the top part of the shoulder pad, the shape is convex, which is not a natural shoulder shape - they should be flatter there and on the inner side (i.e. the side near your neck) but rounded as they head outward. So they look like they have a slight 'hump' when they're sitting on your shoulders. I do need shoulder pads - that's why I always wear a jacket. But with blouses and shirts, I think I might just go for sleeves that are gathered at the shoulders. However, I will keep these 2 pairs. Geraldine from Portland

Shoulder pads are an absolute must under my clothes. I have always had small, sloping shoulders so the shoulder pads give my clothes a much better fit and improve my appearance. I have been ordering these shoulder pads from Her Room for several years. Previously, the shoulder pads did not last long (the flap would tear out quickly). The last couple of times I ordered, I saw great improvement in the item. The shoulder pads are much more durable, and they maintain their color longer. Some women are not a fan of shoulder pads, but then they have nice, square shoulders. I highly recommend these shoulder pads to anyone, who like me, needs them. Great product! I don't use the little flappy thing. When I buy a new top I tack in a piece of thread from the outside shoulder to just inside the neckline. I tie several little knots along the thread so it is stronger, I have never had my tread break. Slip the shoulder pad between the garment and the thread. The thread keeps it in place perfectly. The thread looks something like this and it is loose between the two sewn end points. .____.____.____.____.____.____.____.____.____. Hopes this helps. I don't do this for tees, they seem to stay in place for those. Kay from Florida

Difficult to position because the under-flap is so flimsy and fragile. I'm sure they won't last long. Would not recommend them.

I think the flaps should attach from the other side rather than from the outer shoulder. This is the first pad I have ever had that attached from the outer shoulder, making it more difficult to stay in place. It seems to slip off the bra strap frequently.

The Natural Response: Thank you for your comments and we appreciate your business. We apologize you had a negative experience with this style. We recommend the bra straps be adjusted properly to eliminate this problem. Pauline from Marlton, NJ USA

They are hard to get to stay on. Once the flap is under the bra and I don't move they are fine. The moment I sit down, the strap on my bra loosens and they fall off. If I raise my arms they fall out of place. Will not buy again.

Great shoulder lift for t-shirts and lighter weight clothing items. I have the petite shoulder pads as well, both serve me well to give a more structured polished look, plus helps with shoulder rounding that I have. Great service, great product. I tend to not use the flap, don't find it necessary at all, as the pads and top seem to grab one another and not move about. el

They give just enough lift under T-shirts and light sweaters without showing a visible line. They stay put so it's not necessary to put the flap under bra straps, which alleviates the tab getting torn. Kathy from Borrego Springs, CA USA

I am very narrow thru the shoulders so I while I really like the slim line pads, I wish they weren't as wide. I end up cutting off some of them so they won't show close to the neck. The quality was so very disappointing. I was shocked when I saw them and ever more so when I wore them. They looked like I a growth on my shoulders and would not stay on with the flimsy small piece of fabric ("flap") that is intended to be tucked under the bra strap to secure them. The delivery time was fast.

Vendor Response: Thank you for your feedback,we are dissapointed as well that this didn't work out for you. If you check out the 'Details' section of this styles page, you will see where it gives a description: "The Petite size shoulder pads provide a moderate increase to the shoulder area and work well with a smaller frame under any garment." we definitely think you should try this out again. They are a little hard to install so the fit just right. Next time I would rather buy some cloth ones with velcro to attach. They can be a little easy to rip trying to get them just right.

The Natural Response: Since the shoulder pads are foam, you have to be careful putting them on and taking them off to keep them from ripping. However, they are less expensive to buy than the cloth shoulder pads. Terry from Eden Prairie

Have had many different kinds over the years. Always part of my wardrobe, but these are flimsy and do little for a fuller figure.

These shoulder pads are perfect in every way except one: The flap that slips under my bra strap to hold the pad in place ripped the first time I wore it! Very sad and I don't know how to remedy it. Suggestions?

The Natural Response: The shoulder pads are make of a delicate foam. The only suggestions would be to loosen the bra straps before putting them on or taking them off. Also, if the bra straps are too tight, could cause the foam to rip. Betsy

Pro: Nice size, nice height, nice conformation to my shoulder shape. Look good under clothed. Cons: Can't get them to stay put. The little flaps under the bra straps just surrender within 5 or 10 minutes, and the pads start to wander. My next step is to put a little velcro dot on the strap side of the flap. Relatively costly product in terms of quality and effort.

The Natural Response: The pads are made of foam, so you have to be careful with the flap. To be light foam is the only material to use for the shoulder pad. The draw back is the foam is very delicate. Carol from CA USA

Being a smaller woman, they fit well BUT the flaps, as far as I'm concerned, go the wrong way!!! They are always slipping out from under the bra strap, so I'm always having to adjust them. If the flaps went the other way, the bra strap itself would hold them in place better. I have already gone on line and found other shoulder pads with flaps that go the other way, so I know they will stay in place. Had I known how they fit under the bra strap, I would not have purchased these. The problem with these....trouble keeping them in place.

The Natural Response: Thank you for the suggestion, we will take it into consideration. Cathy from Sacramento, CA

I'm having trouble with the pad moving around. I wonder if I should have selected a heavier or a larger size? I've been wearing for years a pad that was much larger and heavy. I'm a little disappointed in these pads and I purchased the nude and black.

I inserted these pads permanently under the lining of a new leather jacket that was a bit droopy looking, and they have perked it up immensely without imparting that 80s football-player look. Before I sewed them into the jacket, I tried them as intended, sitting under a blouse. They're very stable and grippy, and they weigh practically nothing at all. I'm happy to see the return of moderate shoulder pads. These give a nice crisp line and more fully tailored look to everyday clothes. Anne from Portland, OR USA

They aren't what I thought they'd be. I feel that the flap should open on the top of the pad instead of the lower edge. A little difficult to place and I'm not overly fond of the foam.

Coconut Grove Response: The Natural has been making these shoulder pads for many years and the flap has always opened on the bottom of the pad. All shoulder pads flaps open on the bottom. Sheryl from NE 68922

Coconut Grove Response: The shoulder pads are made of foam so you have to be very careful in fitting the flap under the bra strap as they can tear. Fran from Fremont CA

I loved the way the shoulder pads looked under my tops. They were not too big and not noticeable. However, the thin strip that goes under the bra strap tore the first time I wore them. They will not hold up. I bought 4 packs, so I will return the ones I have not worn. I do not recommend this product.

Do not like that the flaps face toward neck. Other pads I have had from another company offer the flaps facing the end of the shoulder. Awkward to put on compared to my other shoulder pads. I would not order these pads again.

I very much appreciate the great maximum lift these pads have. In the past, I have had trouble finding pads with sufficient lift. However, what I dislike about them is that the foam flaps tear easily and are difficult - cumbersome - to get under the bra strap. I would prefer these pads to be made in a fabric and have a snap or a velcro adhesive which would be at once easier to secure and more resistant to tearing. Miss Lindstrom from New York

The pad has a very good shape and fits well under all types of tops giving a natural look. Gives me a better posture look. Only problem is that the flaps may rip off after some wear. It is my great pleasure to review these very thin shoulder pads, which give just the right amount of slight definition to knits, etc., without looking like you have a shoulder pad in the garment. The reason that I wanted to review these pads is because I have purchased them from quite a few other online companies and the little sponge flaps always tear off, sometimes the first time you wear them. But these are different. The flaps stay on, don't rip or tear, and the pads themselves are really comfortable. These are the best anywhere and you will save yourself a lot of money if you only buy from HerRoom where you get such a good value for a very reasonable price. Carole from Chicago, Illinois, USA

I've ordered these for years from your company, this is the first time (and I ordered twice for this order) that the flaps are headed in the wrong direction...toward the inside. I searched online and found that the ones you carry now are indeed 'unusual' and they are harder to put on, easier to fall out of place.

The Natural Response: As many shoulder pads as we have sold we have never had a complaint about the flaps before. We checked the direction of the flaps from the Natural and compared them to another shoulder pad company we have and the flap goes the same direction. Barbara from MD

I wear shoulder pads because I'm busty and they kind of help balance me out. Also the straps from my bras have left impressions in my shoulders that show under my tops sometimes. I like these shoulder pads , although I wish they were a little bit thinner. I have found that they stay put under a lot of my clothes without using the flaps. And once in a while I secure them with double sided tape. Cindi

I am very pleased that the pads provide so much height. I had purchased others elsewhere before trying these, and the others never gave me the lift that these do. I am concerned with the flaps. I have trouble getting them under my bra straps without struggling a bit and I fear this will result in tearing them at the corners ( this happened with my others). I wish they could retain the same lift ( or even a wee bit more) but have more substantial flaps - maybe a snap or something more secure. I also wish they came in white and black as well as nude. Lastly, I am unable to wear them wtih some dresses because they extend too far towards my neck and hence show outside the dress. Thank you. Miss L from New York

It's very well made. However I find it a little too thick. I ended up cutting about a quarter inch from my neck to allow it to lie better. Also, I would prefer the opening that connect to the bra be faced the other way so that it goes under the bra from the neck side rather than from the shoulder side. Next time, I will probably order the slim line just to try the difference. But I am very happy I have all these choices. And I am thrilled with the way the company handled the purchase. I ordered both the petite and the slim, and I liked the slim much better. The petite is quite bulky. I did not like the way they fit under the bra strap (going from the outside in) nearly as much as another brand which goes from the inside (neck) out to the shoulder.

The Natural Response: Thank you for sending this over, truth be told, shoulder pads will not fit everyone the same way. We have 3 sizes and shoulders are one of the more interesting body parts for the simple reason that no two pairs are the same. We have sized these based on an average size woman of regular proportion and petite proportion and the slim line is to give a subtle shoulder for someone who does not want a very strong shoulder. That being said, everyone will feel differently about shoulder pads, especially if they are not used to wearing. Ellen from Mequon/WI
