I realized after I received the other two sports bras that although I wear a 30DD in a regular bra that the sports bras were way too tight.

HerRoom Response: This is a high impact sports bra so needs to be snug in the band. You are in the correct size if you are wanting strong bounce control. Pam from Cincinnati Ohio USA

Bought this bra for the past few years and it is the best I have owned. Little to no bounce. Double back closure take the stress off my shoulders and shoulders are adjustable too. Not the most attractive silhouette with seems in front. Runs small

HerRoom Response: You are right that the band is running small. There is a Tomima Tip stating you should move up a band size - from your 36DD more to a 38D. Tara from Maryland

Best supportive run bra but it runs very tight around the band. I am a 29" and even with a 30" band, this has to break-in for many months before it is comfortable to breath deeply.

HerRoom Response: If you measure 29" around your underbust, you are probably a 32 band size. Consider a 32E(D3). Verna from Santa Cruz, CA, USA

The band size is wrong. I wear a 30 band size in all styles, all makes, all manufacturers, and from all sources (not just HerRoom). I cannot breathe when this one is hooked on the largest setting, obviously unacceptable for a sports bra. BTW, from the condition of the item when it arrived, I am not the first person to return it. Absolutely the best running bra out there, and I've tried many over the years. The racer back style is great. I can almost get away with not having to wear two bras. It's English sizing, so the cup sizes do not correspond with US cup sizes. I typically wear a 32 DD or DDD in US manufactured bras but 32E or 32FF in the ShockAbsorber bras. JS from NJ

I am extremely picky about bras, especially sports bras. Having a small band and large cup makes finding a bra that is comfortable, breathable and, most important, secure can be extremely difficult. I am so glad I ordered this bra! It is by far the most light weight sports bra I own while being one of the most supportive. I highly recommend. Vicki

I wanted this model in white ( size 40 D/F ) but it is only available in black for this size. I opted for a chest size smaller and in white but it is not my first choice. I order another one in black ( 40/D ) and it's perfect. Grace from Syracruse

The construction and quality of this bra are great. The ease of getting it on is definitely lacking. It is hard to get into with the top clasp hooked, but even harder to try and hook the top clasp after you've done the main hook & eye closure at the back. I agree with the fitter's recommendation that the band runs tight. I am pretty consistently a 34 band in European brands, but sized up a band in the same universal cup size to accommodate. I still have a fair amount of bounce while wearing this bra, but it does greatly reduce the discomfort from the bounce I have when wearing less supportive sports bras. Shannon from Louisvile, KY

This is the best running bra I've ever had and I've been running for 14 years. It holds me in place with no bounce. It's easy to get on and off with 2 clasps in the back. It's adjustable on the rib cage band and also the shoulder bands. It holds up after years of washing. I've had several of these for years. I still love the bra. Betty from Langford, SD

Two people are needed to put this bra on. It's impossible to do by yourself. Once I got it on, the support was good. It's so hard to get on.

Shock Absorber Response:Agreed, it is difficult to get on the first time. We suggest latching the top closure of the bra to pull it over your head, then pulling your arms through the arm holes. From there, connect the hook-and-eye closure. If flexibility restrains you, try latching the bra around your waist using the hook-and-eye closure and pulling the straps up to put arms though. From there, close the top closure at the back of your neckline. Rebecca from Rock Hall

I had a breast augmentation 6 months ago and measure 32DDD. I've gotten frustrated trying to find a supportive sports bra that fits my small rib cage and large bust. I love this bra! I am a yoga instructor and practice HIIT several times per week. This bra is UK sized, so going up a band size and down a cup size worked for me! I purchased a 34DD and will buy more. I love shock absober bras! I've been athletic all my life and always struggled with the right sports bra for my large chest. I love running and crossfit, shock absorber is the best for my favorite activities! This one did not disappoint either! My bra size fluctuates a little from time to time and I'm greatful for Herroom size chart. It helped me select the perfect size! Shock absober bras are pricey but worth every penny! This item looks well made, but if I can't get into and out of it by myself, it won't work for me. There are two sturdy fasteners on the back, that I cannot reach after the bra is on, and I cannot put the bra on with the fasteners fastened. I was hoping this bra would be different, but it is not. The fasteners NEED TO BE IN FRONT!!! This is a major problem with all bras and swimsuit tops.

HerRoom Response: I'm sorry this bra did not work for you. If you want a sports bra that is easy to take on and off, you should try a front closure sports bra like the Shock Absorber Active Zipped Plunge Sports Bra S00BW Janet from Bellingham, Washington USA

Best running bra ever. With this bra I don't have to wear two bras to achieve the support I need for running. Bra band runs small, I usually wear a 32F and I have to go up 1 band size and down 1 cup size. They are expensive but well worth the price. Just wish when they went on sale they had my size! My HOLY GRAIL combo is the Shock Absorber Mult-sport bra in 30 HH & the Shock Absorber RUN racerback style sports bra in 32 G. By layering the 2 sports bras the weight of my chest gets distributed onto 2 points of my shoulders. Which makes it comfortable. I get ZERO bounce & 100% COMFORT with this combination! I wear 28 HH in Freya and Panache. Shock Absorber bands are smaller. So take note mine. Martha from Dallas, TX

This is hands down the best sports bra I have ever purchased. I have a small frame, narrow band size, and a large cup size, which makes it extremely difficult to find comfortable and functional high impact sports bras. For reference, I am 5'4'' and approx. 108-110 lbs. My band measurement is 28 and I typically wear Freya bras in 28G, 30DDD, or 30G (US) depending on the style. Having read several previous reviews, I purchased a size 32DD (UK) as recommended. I am very glad that I did as it is a perfect fit. The band is snug on the last clasp, which will allow me to adjust over time as it stretches from wear. The cups provide the perfect amount of coverage and do not leave any unflattering pinch of underarm fat that I've found with nearly every other sports bra. The straps are comfortable and overall support is perfect for running and other high impact exercise. Claire from FL/USA

I have been wearing this bra for about 3 years now and I would never buy from another brand. This bra keeps me worry free while training. No painful bouncing or it moving in places it shouldn't be. Nothing compares to this bra. Even at my biggest cup size (32F pre breast lift surgery) it kept me in check. I am a crossfit athlete for reference. Running, jumping, Olympic lifts, handstands....this bra handles it all. The band DOES run small. I would suggest going up a band size and down a cup size. KN from Atl, ga

Needed a high-impact high support bra. This is my first racerback. So easy to get on and off with an adjustable band. Great support while running. One problem - manufacturer suggests going up 1 band size and down a cup size. I ordered my usual 34D, way too tight. Ordered 36C, fits perfectly. Cheryl from NY

Looks like it is made with good construction overall. Sizing was WAY off. Typically I am a 30 band in most brands with some bras down to a 28. The band was so tight I could not close it.

She used to use moving comfort bras but it has been really difficult to find her size so we tried this bra and wow. She likes this bra so well we bought 2 more. I thought finding regular bras that properly fit was difficult - since taking up jogging, I've realized finding a good sports bra that actually prevents "bounce" is nigh impossible. This is the only sports bra I've tried that really tames the girls - I knew immediately when I tried it on that it was "the one". The only con I can think of is that the band is indeed tight (I can often get away with a 30 band, but the 32 in this one just barely fits me!) but I'm okay with that because I know it's a big part of the bra's awesome support. I suspect the band will better conform to my body over time. Becca from Texas

With a name like "Shock Absorber", I had high expectations for this bra and was disappointed. I couldn't get a good fit with this bra. The band definitely runs small. I was able to get into the bra to try it out and it provided tight compression, but as soon as I started moving the cups just moved up and down right along with my breasts.

Great bra. Probably. However it so narrow! I could not close 36 on me, while I am usually always ordering 36 for everything else. I didn't even order 38, assumed it will still be small and this is the largest available size. Weird. Usually the problem with the cap size.

I really want to love this bra, but the bottom of the band in the front gets uncomfortable after wearing it for a while. I do like the support it gives underneath my pajama tops though.

Shock Absorber Response: The band on this bra is a soft wide stretchy underband. Possibly style B4490 will be a better option as the band has fabric covering the elastic. Michelle from Montgomery, TX / USA

Ordered this bra in a band size up from what I normally wear, and the band was still extremely tight. Seems like it would be great, support-wise, and I loved that the straps have lots of room for adjustment using hooks instead of velcro. Reordering this bra with a bigger band. I normally wear a 28 band and am ordering in a 32 because a 30 was so tight I couldn't take a deep breath.

Shock Absorber Response: We hope the 32 band will give you the desired fit.

Fits well, full coverage, minimizes bounce. (I'm a runner. At least, I try to be.) A really breathable lightweight material, which I like, but holding in a lot a breast tissue is hard work, so I am hopeful with care the bra will not let out. So far, so good. I like that the straps go over the shoulders more on the trapezius muscle, to give the normal strap area a break. Chickens from Blair/NE/USA

I easily wear a 34 band in almost any bra, and prefer an F in a sports bra so that it will be tight--I had to send this back, and would probably be a 36G in this bra! (My under bust measurement is 31.5", though I do have broad shoulders.) I recommend you order up a full size if you are a 34.

Shock Absorber Response: We apologize you had a negative experience with this style. Try sizing up a band and cup size. Gigi from Michigan/USA

This bra was too small for me in the cups and the band was exceptionally tight. My rib measurement ranges between 27 and 29 inches (fluctuates throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding) so a 32 band is always my size and I usually must hook on the tightest rung right off the bat... this bra would barely latch on the loosest rung. Overall I still gave a high rating because I can tell that it provided ample support given the right size. Christina from Seattle, WA, USA

I have an older-model Shock Absorber that I LOVE - it gives very little movement. The front on these is lower than the front on my older model, and the top hook in the back is much higher. If I hadn't been spoiled by my older model this style would be fine; but since I know what Shock Absorber is capable of, I had to return these.

Shock Absorber Response: This style offers maximum support. Some women find the high racerback hook difficult to close, so I recommend closing it before putting it over your head then clasping the band hook and eye closure. Hope this helps! Pam from Durham, NC

THIS IS THE BEST SPORTS BRA EVER! I have had this bra for 2 years and it has held up (and held them in) wonderfully! I don't feel smushed together in this bra. My breasts don't go anywhere even while running or jumping. I love that you can adjust the back to lift your breasts as much as you want, too. This is definitely worth the price. One thing I should mention though is that the band size runs a tad tight (well it should, it's a sports bra) but normally 30 fits me just fine even on the middle hook but this one feels pretty tight even on the last hook. So if you barely fit into the size of your regular bra and you're ordering this one it might be a good idea to order a band size up. :) Lauryn from Oklahoma

This thing works the way it says it will, and it's something you can stand to actually wear. It's reasonably comfortable and not too hot. And really does minimize bounce. I've tried a few different athletic bras and this one is in a class of it's own. Ellen from Lake Mills/WI/USA

The band is really snug, but it’s very soft and miraculously it does not chafe, even after a 15 mile run. There is almost no bounce, and the location of the straps keeps them from digging into your shoulders and allows complete freedom of arm/shoulder motion. The bra dries quickly and releases heat (even Texas heat!) I love this sports bra. As others have pointed out, the biggest issue is that it can be a struggle to get it hooked. The only improvement I can think of would be that it also comes in great colors (in all the sizes) - my vote is for hot pink! This is the best running bra I have ever owned! Annette from Austin, TX

In my opinion this is the best running bra on the market for this size. Excellent support, but soft and elastic material that prevents chafing. Also highly adjustable. Only minor criticism would be the relatively high price, but in my opinion it's worth it. Very good quality that can last many miles. Nora from New York

Really happy with this bra! I typically wear a 34E but sized up to a 36E after reading the reviews and it fits quite nicely! It might have been true to size but it still functions well and at least I have a new sports bra while I order a size down and see how it fits. The top clasp is a bit awkward at first but was easy once I figured it out. Would definitely buy this bra again. Elizabeth from Pittsburgh

This is a great bra and I love the between the shoulder clasp as it does add a bit more support. However, I will still be "double bra-ing" it for the exercising I do (high impact stuff). I was really hoping to find a bra that would provide enough support and reduce "bounce" enough all on its own, but I doubt that is possible with 32Fs!!! I do also have an Enell high impact sports bra and also wear it doubled!

Shock Absorber Response: Glad you like the Run bra fit and support. You may also like our Max sports bra top B4490, as this also offers maximum support. Misty from Kansas/USA

I think that this bra is overpriced. The quality of the stitching was not that good. I felt as though after a couple washes in the machine, it would start to come apart. I did like the fit, but the material and workmanship of the bra was not worth the asking price for this bra. I bought a different style shock absorber for half this price and it was much better quality.

Shock Absorber Response: The Run bra is priced the same on all websites. Shock Absorber is a quality product and has not had an issue with coming apart in the wash, in fact they last a long time if cared for correctly- machine wash, hang dry. This style is more technical in use of material and styling, therefore is more expensive than the other bras in the collection. Wisdomrules from Usa

Finally! I have been searching high and low for a sports bra for YEARS! This is the 4th one that I ordered from HerRoom (and probably the 12th that I've ordered for everywhere) - and the first I didn't return! The others were either not supportive enough for jogging and resulted in my chest hurting and needing to stop, OR caused awful pooching of my boobs out of the top of the bra (even though I ordered the correct size!). My normal bras are 32G - but I went a couple of cup sizes down to make sure I got good support. Seems like the bands run a tad small too, so I had to go up a size there. But overall I'm super happy with it. It is a little bit of a pain to get on - but if you leave the back clasp clasped together all of the time and just slip it on like a t-shirt, it's much easier. Once you get it on sometimes I have trouble getting the extra length of the shoulder straps tucked in correctly so that they aren't twisted uncomfortable under the straps, but once they are in place this bra really holds you in place! Normally a 30DDD, reviewing the 32DD. I love this bra. I run about 40-50 miles/week and this bra is absolutely excellent fantastic when it comes to comfort and support. There is still some bounce that I can observe if I bounce around in front of a mirror...it is not going to totally obliterate any bounce, but for this active, larger breasted runner, I actually find it perfect. I don't feel any bounce while I am in running motion, which is different than bouncing up and down in front of the mirror motion. It is the only sports bra I will wear now (I have two of these ones). It does flatten you out, so probably overkill if you are just walking something for easygoing walking and do not need to smash down your curves! It is also nice and light, surprising given the support it offers. I really cannot recommend it enough. Love love love. I had no problems with the clasp at the top from the get go. I just looked at how it worked before I put the bra on, then moved the "top" clasp down over the "bottom" clasp and snap, it was together. A note for those who normally wear bras very close to their true measured ribcage size - the band is definitely tighter fitting. If you are in your "true size" (as in you do not add 4-5" to your ribcage measurement), you may need to look at whether you need to go up a size or not. For example, my ribcage measures at 29" snugly and I normally wear a 30 or alter 32's to fit snugger. The way the Run bra is built is that right underneath the breasts (at the seam between the main body of the bra and the elastic) there is little to no stretch. For comparison, at a full stretch, the band of my 32 Run bra only goes to about 31/32", whereas I can usually stretch a "normal" 32 band to about 35-36" (which is way too big for me). I find the 32 Run is nicely snug on me even on the loosest hook, and is the only 32 I can wear that I do not have to alter. I am not sure why Shock Absorber did this, but perhaps it is because they realize a lot of women normally size up for regular bras and accounted for this. If you are someone who sizes up in their bra significantly from what their measurement is, you probably are fine in your "regular size" or even down one. If you are very close in measurement to your band size, or go down a bit for your band, you may need to go up a band size in the run (I did adjust my cup size going up a band size so from 30E to 32DD). Hope the above little bit about sizing helps, as I know ordering online I really struggle with finding out what size to order in bras as many women report different things about how bands or bras fit, but I know not everyone is in a band size close to their ribcage measurement, or the right bra size, so it makes it hard to know! I agree with other reviewers that the band is slightly small. I'm not exchanging mine, just because I'm losing weight, so I'd rather deal with a tighter-than-I'd-like band right now than a too loose one in a month. It's expensive but if you are rocking big knockers like me and running, it does a great job. It also looks like a sports bra, which probably shouldn't be important to me but is. Jade from TX

This is the only bra that doesn't hurt my skin. It is also very supportive, comfortable, and easy to put on (I leave the top closure closed, pull the bra over my head, and just close the hook-and-eye one). I was in desperate need of new sports bras as my old ones were no longer very supportive. As I had used the Shock Absorber brand before I ordered three different styles to see which suited my body best. Hands down the SA B5044 Infinity was the best for me. I'll add that I love to run, go to the gym 2-3 times a week and have a 36DD/38D chest to keep under control! This bra is very comfortable, with soft seams and the racer back created by the additional clip keeps bounce to the bare minimum. I had not realized how much energy I was expending with all the bouncing and feel that my running has also improved as a result! The clip was a little tricky the first time but easy to get used to. Importantly the bra washed well and line dried quickly. Since purchasing the first I have bought two more, one in black and one in white, so I guess that is a very good endorsement! I wanted to add something to my previous review. I was on the tightest hook with the 32 band (E cup), so I ordered a 30 band to try it. I could not even hook it! I was surprised that there was such a huge difference between the 2. So I ended up buying the 32 DD instead. I thought that was weird, and like the sizing isn't uniform. I've also ordered the same size in both black and white, yet the black is about 1/2 size larger. It feels like its been stretched out or something. Odd. banana bread from tx

This is my second time to review this bra - I have owned 2 of them for at least 1 year, as well as other shock absorber bras. Overall, I am very pleased with this bra - it does exactly what it promises to; however, the straps are way too long, and they either need to be made shorter, or made to adjust better. I am taking mine to the alterations shop this week to see if this can be fixed. In the future - please shock absorber make shorter straps!! Also, it took me about 5 tries to finally find the right size in shock absorber. This bra fits me in a 32 DD - yet I wear a 28 F in most other bras (freya, panache). Shock Absorber bands also run extremely tight, so I went up 2 sizes (and therefore down in the cups). I do highly recommend this bra, and would purchase it again - but I will have to have them altered which is quite a hassle, and I hope that shock absorber will start manufacturing them with shorter straps! This bra gets very high marks. The only reason it does not get 5 is because of the bounce. I use an Enell but gave this a try. It has a little more bounce than the Enell but I love everything else about it. The fabric is cool and very soft, the cut is good too. I have had breast implants for 25 years and have alot of breast pain when I have bounce. I run an average of 20 miles a week and live in a tropical climate so I need a bra that works well and with cool fabric. I would definitely recommend this bra for others. Especially if you are a runner. Jill from Panama City, Panama

This is the best sports bra I've ever had. Very little bounce and it's comfortable. Works well with my racer back shirts. Kimberly from El Cerrito

This bra is neck and neck as my favorite bra, with the Enell. It's comfortable and it really, really holds the girls in, as I have to limit that bounce! The only thing I'd say is annoying is that top clip. I have to get my hubby to do it for me. I don't like pulling bras over my head. This is one of only two bras, the Enell is the other, that I have re-purchased. Every other bra I try really allows too much bounce. jacqui from cedar hill, TX, United States

These sports bra's are great. The extra clip between the shoulder blades gives very good support, although the way it closes is a bit difficult. Perfect for running! Kate from DC

I had just read a NY Times article on the science behind this bra, so I wanted to believe. I have to admit, I was skeptical when it showed up. Compared to my other running bra (Enell), I didn't know if the Shock Absorber would, ahem, hold up. I was pleasantly surprised! This bra is super comfortable and supportive. The clasp at the top is a little difficult to close, but it really adds stability. It doesn't smoosh, but keeps me comfortable while I'm training for my first marathon. I'll probably get another one soon. Love it! Amy from Seattle, WA

I purchased this sports bra from another website out of desperation. I needed a new bra for running and the general S/M/L size weren't working. Once this one arrived, I swore off all other brands. With a few adjustments in the back, it fit perfectly. I must have spent at least 10 minutes jumping in front of a mirror, amazed at how well it held everything in place! Definitely worth every penny. I just purchased another one in black. Jenny from St. Paul

Almost good enough. The band needs to be wider, stronger - more secure (like an Enell bra band) and then you pretty much have a great bra. The chest band is kind of like a men's fruit of the loom underwear band...and it's not enough (for me). Had to wear and use it to know - so can't return it. Great bounce control - until it's soaked with sweat / then it loses it's "grip" for some reason and sags like a wet bathing suit. Disappointed but wearing it over an Enell 00 does give the Enell a little more oomph. Too much to wear in the heat though (both). The search continues... Nancy from Bloomfield Hills

I LOVE THIS BRA!!!! My ta ta's aren't huge (I'm a 34D), but they definitely need support. I will never buy another type of sports bra. There is minimal jiggle even when going for one hour runs! The girls are somewhat compressed in this style (but no uniboob), with minimal (and I do mean minimal!) up/down and side/side shifting. The added clip between the shoulder blades adds a LOT of stability. Shock Absorber has a life-long convert!!!!! bp from mississauga/ontario/canada

This sports bra provides great support. The clasp on the upper back is a challenge initially. I am concerned because I had to start on the last shoulder loop. As the bra wears in, I have no way to tighten the shoulders. This may have been avoided if I went down a cup size, but I was concerned that I may not have had full cup coverage. I will be training for a half marathon and I am certain this bra will provide the support I need to help me focus on the run instead of on the bounce. For a woman who is extremely active, this is a great bra. If you are only moderately active, you may find this provides more lock and load than you need. Dawn from California

By far the BEST sports bra ever. I have tried so many, and this is the most comfortable, and supportive I've worn; plus it creates the best shape of any! Very smooth under thin exercise shirts, and no pointy, smushed boobies either. I will order more of these. Alex from TX
