This is the first sports bra I have found that stays put while I am running, jogging, dancing, etc! With my previous sports bra the straps would move around a lot on my shoulders, causing pain and frustration, but with this one the design is amazing! Kirsten from United States

This bra is amazing! The back support is evenly distributed for the top of the back and for the middle of the back. The padded shoulder straps prevent slipping off the shoulders (a common problem when you have small shoulders). Holly from Grove Hill, AL, USA

I went up a size as recommended and there was no way I was going to get this bra on. It is VERY small!! I also was not able to figure out how to close the thing. I tried to close the top first then couldn't get the right angle to close the bottom.

HerRoom Response: We agree that this bra is a bit of a challenge to put on. But, its also a big award winner. Shock Absorber suggests first clasping the middle band, put it on over your head, and clasping the bottom. Becky

It's hard to find bras that fit and are comfy. I've been so uncomfortable in wire bras so I went for this one. It's comfortable and keeps me all in and not a lot of bounce. Only thing I'd change is how thin the material is, nothing to imagination. MamaW

I read the reviews. I am actually a 34 band, but I ordered a band size up = 36. I still had to do the clasps at the furthest setting, and everything was compressed. I consider myself dexterous, but I couldn't get the upper hooks together behind my back. I had to take the straps down and do the hooks and put the straps on one at a time. It was comfortable, but I'm not sweating yet. Concerning S from Boston/MA/USA

This sports bra is so concealing and I don't have to wear 2! It is tight to my chest and not uncomfortable. I have worn 2 sports bra, basically my entire life. I don't need the second one, with this bra! I would highly recommend! Kristina from Rochester, NY

Amazing. Incredible lift and support. I will size up the band when I reorder. I got it latched on the loosest hook, but it is *tight*. It eased up throughout the day, but a larger band would fit better. Molly from Ferndale

I haven't worn a well fitting sports bra since high school, in fact I've been wearing an underwire bra for my workouts since my early 20's. This bra actually kept my breasts secure even while doing jumping jacks. It also didn't give me that super uni-boob look either. Highly recommend! Brittany from Lafayette,IN

I actually really like this one. The two different hooks is very comfortable. It does well to hold, lift, and separate without underwire support. Tomminas tips said to go up in band size, which means to usually go down in cups size. Do not go down in cup size. I pop out the top and side of it a bit because I went down a cup size. It's almost exactly what I was looking for and clearly well-constructed. I did go up a band size (from my usual 36G to 38G in UK bras) as recommended and found the bra fit well. However, I needed help to hook the clasps (unacceptable). It was also just a touch tight on the shoulders because the straps were a bit too short, though they were let loose all the way. (I'm a little over 6'0".)

I bought this bra to replace my old moving comfort junos which had started chafing me terribly. It's super comfortable and no chafing at all! I also like that it doesn't have to go over my head, it makes changing into dry clothes in public without flashing anyone a lot easier! Lara from Mount Airy

I like this bra overall. I've been wearing it for running and while there is the slight uniboob effect, it gets the job done. However for longer distances I do feel a bit of a strain in my shoulders, so that tells me that there is still a bit of bounce which I'm not always feeling. I like the simplicity of the look - not so many bells and whistles as other bras for bigger girls. I recommend. Dana from San Leandro

Have been trying to find a sports bra that doesn't chafe, squash my breasts together leaving cleavage for days, hurt, and isn't a pain in the tail to get into. I can't decide if I like this or the Shock Absorber Ultimate Runner better, but I'm leaning toward this one. I was shocked when I got it as there appears to be no structure (no molded cups, slings, etc), but it's clearly there when you put it on and go for a run. I run in heat/humidity and I find that I don't notice this bra at all. Time will tell about chafing, I'm only up to 8 miles in it, but so far so good. The two fasteners really keep everything secure and don't put so much weight/pressure on my shoulders where the straps would rub. I think I've finally found the bra that works for me. Kat from NC

I loved the old version of this bra, but I did't like this one. I'm 150 lb and 5'1" --I'm short and muscular with about 20 - 22 % body fat (and a lot of back muscles from climbing) and the hole in the back of the bra made all my skin and fat pop out the back in a really unflattering way. I even sized up in the band as directed. This bra might work for someone leaner than me, but not for me.

Shock Absorber Response: Perhaps another style would suit your body shape better. We suggest the Ultimate Run Sports Bra S5044. It has a different, more open back detail that lays flat on the body. Lacey from Akron, OH

This is the best sports bra on the planet! I do crossfit and aerobics. I can do it way more now that my chest is secure. It does fit a little tight in the band for the size, but mine ended up stretching out some, so it fits perfectly now. If you are worried about it being too tight, or prefer a not so tight band, size up. Rebecca from North East

This is the most wildly inaccurate bra size I have ever worn. For one thing, the band runs tight to the point of asphyxiation, and the cup is laughably small. It must be somewhere in the ballpark of four sizes too small. I couldn't keep it on long enough to be sure without bruising my ribs. C'est la vie. Don't buy if you're a larger cup size. Kris

This bra fits and supports like it should. But for me it does the thing I don't like sports bras doing and that's melding my two boobs into one uni-boob. Which in no way affects it's utility but now that I know there are sports bras out there that don't do that I don't feel like this bra is doing the best job it could be. Nea from Smithfield Utah us

The bra minimizes bounce, but I have softer breast tissue, I guess, and I had uniboob (monoboob). By the end of my run the bra folded under the bust = saggy uniboob, but it still managed to minimize bounce. It is not my favorite sports bra. I usually choose wired sports bras for separation but wires hurt when running. This still gave uniboob even when worn over a wired bra, and no bounce at all Heidi from West valley, UT 84119

My HOLY GRAIL combo is the Shock Absorber Mult-sport bra in 30 HH & the Shock Absorber RUN racerback style sports bra in 32 G. By layering the 2 sports bras the weight of my chest gets distributed onto 2 points of my shoulders. Which makes it comfortable. I get ZERO bounce & 100% COMFORT with this combination! I wear 28 HH in Freya and Panache. Shock Absorber bands are smaller. So take note mine. Martha from Dallas, TX

Overall it was pretty good. It's hard to find support bras for 38DD. It fit snugly and offered good support. There was a lot of extra material in the cup area that seemed pointless, unless I am missing something. I did enjoy how easy it was to put on. I was concerned it would be hard to get on/off as some require a third arm to get them over the girls and back lol Leslie from Napa ca

My 16-year old daughter does Muay Thai. Now that she's advanced to a higher level, a sports bra with support was necessary. We purchased a Shock Absorber sports bra at a local high-end store. I wanted to purchase more than one, but the price was a bit more than my budget could allow. So pleased when I found the same bra -- at a significantly lower price -- on your site. Thank you! My fav sports bra. I run, kayak & bike. Being a 32H, it is very hard to find a bra that will support high impact sports. Other brands make this size but they do not control the bounce. If you are willing to pay race entry fees, then investing in a good sports bra only makes sense. Worth It! Ann from New Brunsick, CA

I never went running in it to evaluate bounce. So, you might still try it out for those reasons. My problem was with the white color. I was trying to find a good white bra to wear under exercise tank tops this summer, so it needed to be as inconspicuous as possible (I am not one of those ladies that likes to share my undergarments with others). This bra is designed, however, with a partial second layer of fabric on the inside, running up from the bottom band towards the nipple. This second layer of white was very obvious under the top fabric layer, and additionally, was uncomfortable and scratchy across my nipples. Perhaps in other colors it works better, and I can see it giving more support, but it didn't work for my purposes. Katharine from Denver, CO

It has decent support, so it gets a star for that. I'll also give it a star for actually being available in larger sizes. Unfortunately, it runs a bit small and the double hooks are a serious pain to try to do up when putting it on, let alone after getting all sweaty & then trying to take it off. You either need to be a contortionist or have a dressing assistant to wear this thing. Zoe from PA

When I first bought the bra, I absolutely loved it. It minimized movement and that's really difficult to find for my chest size. Quickly though, the bra stretched out and started allowing my breasts to sort of... fall out the top. Also, the band has begun to roll up and that is *extremely* uncomfortable. As much as I loved the bra at the beginning, I'm not likely to buy another one simply because the level of comfort and reliability just didn't last long enough for the price. This is the closest I've been able to get to a "regular" sports bra since I sized out of those. I really like the fit, but it can be hard to get hooked, especially with the back hooks being separated. It doesn't completely eliminate movement, but it does about the best I could possibly expect. Definitely a good option for larger chested women. MJ

Compared to my Shock Absorber D+ Max Support bras, this racerback bra is medium-level support at best. The mesh racerback panel is very stretchy, so the band doesn't offer as much support as I'd like, and there's quite a bit of bounce. So I only use this bra for low or medium impact workouts (yoga and dumbbells). On a positive note, the stretch mesh does make closing that top row of hooks easier, once you get the hang of it. This bra really holds me in place when I run. No bouncing!!! I makes a real difference. I do find that I need to do the upper hooks before putting it on, then do the lower hooks. Similarly, to take it off, I undo the lower hooks then pull it over my head, Bonnie from U.S.

I also never seem to be able to find racer back style sports bras in my style, so I often have the problem of straps sliding off--pretty annoying during a workout. PROS: - Fits my 36FF chest just fine. - No chafing. - Chest isn't sore after my 5 mile runs every day. - Looks cute enough to not wear a shirt with it, if you like. CONS: - A tiny bit difficult to put on because of the top hooks. - Not ideal for very high impact activity (ex: plyometrics). - Slight uniboob-age. All in all, this suits my purposes just fine. You can run and do yoga and pilates in this thing, no problem. But if you're looking for something to stop all movement, this bra isn't the one. Still, a very good bra and totally worth the price. This is a great bra for high intensity workouts. The fit on the band was snug so if you are an in-between size, you might want to consider going with the bigger size. However, after a few uses, it has settled in well for me and doesn't feel so tight. I use it when I run and also for HIIT and have noticed no bounce, chaffing, or discomfort. A big bonus is that is that its easy to put on and take off. Aks from India

I desperately wanted a running bra that would not make me sweat uncontrollably and that would hold me in. This got good reviews. I just wish HerRoom was clearer on ordering that this was UK sizes, not US sizes. I ended up with a cup that was 34I, not 34G. It is 34G UK, not 34G US. It feels a bit loose across the top of my breast, but I'll get used to it I guess.

Shock Absorber Response: We apologize you had a negative experience with this style. This style comes in the fuller cup sizes and offers maximum support when the fabric fits properly to the breasts.

HerRoom Response: Please refer to the sizing chart to order your correct size. This will show you the Universal Cup Size for this brand. K from Atlanta

This bra is AMAZING for runners. It doesn't shift, bounce, or distract me at all while I'm running, which is something I never could have imagined. I was a small 38H when I bought this (remember, this is UK sizing) and didn't find I needed to size up at all. If anything, because I knew I'd be losing weight, I wanted it to be on the tighter side--I gambled on the size, and got lucky on the first try. One of the only razor back bras that fits a large chest with small ribs. It isn't the most comfortable but it's better than most. It does give the uniboob look. It's good for lower impact activities like cycling and yoga. I wouldn't run in it. I'm a 30H almost always, but as suggested by other reviewers, I ordered the 32HH (size up in both cup and rib) and it fits OK. I'd be tempted to try a 30J if they made it. Best thing about this bra? The razor back is held with two separate sets of clasps, two hooks each. This makes it much easier to get on if you are flexible enough to do your bra up behind yourself. You can hook the lower ones (easy) and have those hold while you struggle with the upper ones (hard). I don't see any way to get this bra on by the front-clip twist-around method (if you have very large boobs and small ribs). Gail from San Francisco, CA USA

Can't recommend this bra enough. I wore a 40I in most US bras when I purchased this, but between the conversion to UK sizing and recommendations on Amazon to size down a tad, I went with the 38F and have been extremely happy. Now that I've dropped 20 pounds, I'm having to buy a smaller one, but the girls have been happy through more than 200 miles of running. Love it. Jen from Boise, ID

I am normally a 34G. I am now 23 weeks pregnant and my breast have grown over the last couple of months. I chose the Shock Absorber based on reviews and it is an OK sports bra. It fits, which is important, and holds up the girls comfortably. You do have to put it on overhead, so it's a bit inconvenient but not really a deal breaker. The major issue I have is how this bra creates a uni-boob look; it's pretty horrendous. I am keeping it because of limited options in size.

May be perfectly fine in smaller sizes for smaller frames, but for a larger body and large chested woman, this will not provide adequate support. The front is fine (although size 38H perfect fit with other styles of bras did not translate into a remotely decent fit for this bra), but the back had very skinny straps that provided no anchoring support at all for the weighty chest in front (2 0.75" straps with 2 hooks each, one around the back of the diaphragm and a second which joins between the shoulder blade to create a racer back). Combined they do not provide the necessary support and if you are not toned at all, this creates very uncomfortable bulges. If you are in this size range, I would highly suggest picking something that has a wider strap across the back (at least 3 inches minimum) to provide a proper support for the weight in front. Despite already having done significant research before buying this product, I will be starting over in my search.

Shock Absorber Response:You should try going up a size. Perhaps this will allow the bra to fit properly and not show bulging in the back(which there shouldn't be). The bra needs to fit snug, but not too tight that it doesn't allow proper coverage and support. The racerback design should hold you in place. Both the straps and band are adjustable so may be tailored to support sizes up to a 40HH. If it's not the size that is an issue, then it seems like the B4490 is not the bra for her shape. Another option would be to try the D+ Max Support Bra which is available up to a 40H. Shel from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Although this is the first sport-support bra I have found that was made for larger cup size and normal trunk size, I am pleased with the suspension control effect but a bit disappointed in the "Uni-boob" effect of the cup form of the bra. I expected the squeeze and hold control of the sports bra, but would still like the lift and separate elements of the attractive undergarment style. According to all the sizing and measuring procedures, I got the correct size and it is very comfortable in the strap, shoulders, underarms, and band area. Karen from Boise, Idaho, USA

This bra gave me bright red and extremely painful welts on both my sides, just to the rear of my underarms. I was nearly in tears wearing this bra...not the effect Shock Absorber is going for, I'm sure. I normally wear a 32H or 32I 'everyday' bra and always go up a band size in sports bras as they are always made smaller. So going with that logic and HerRoom's sizing guides I chose a 34HH. When trying it on at home, the band was smooth and straight all the way around; a 36HH would have been too loose, especially for any form of exercise. You need the girls to stay in place.

Vendor Response: We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with our bra. Perhaps the shape of the bra is not right for you. I would guess that the size may not be accurate since you said it rubs behind your arm. Though without seeing it on this is difficult to determine. May we suggest that you give our Plunge Sports Bra B4395 a try! The racerback cut allows for freedom of arm movement and minimal chafing. Jenn from Chicago, IL USA

This is a great, supportive bra - really stops the bounce in running or high-impact activities. It's not "wear-all-day" comfortable, but for workouts it's excellent. Overall, this bra has worked well. Since I purchased it several months ago I have lost almost 20 pounds so it's beginning to fit a little loose. Other reviewers said it was very difficult to get on and off. This was true initially, but I have mastered it now and can do it on my own. The bra fits well and is comfortable. No chafing at all. I have such a hard time finding bras that fit me and, until now, it was impossible to find a sports bra that fits. This bra is a bit tight, but it actually covers all of my massive breasts and hold them up. It's a bit hard to get in and out of, but once I'm in it, it holds me firmly in place. As with a lot of women my age, my breasts are heavy and not at all firm, making it necessary to have full coverage. If the coverage isn't good, when I bend over, they fall out the top. This doesn't happen with the Shock Absorber Max. Wires are so uncomfortable and I just don't wear them. This holds me up without wires. It isn't ideal, since it creates a uniboob that is massive, but it's better than them hanging to my navel. I don't jog, but if I need to hurry a little, they don't bounce out of my bra. It's also a bit easier on the shoulders. The only thing ideal for my breasts would be a reduction. This is the next best thing. Debbie from Houston, TX, USA

It's a nice feeling being able to feel "normal" in a sports bra. Thank you for catering to larger breasted women. Lisa from Missouri

Truly the ONLY bra that lives up to the name-absolutly no bounce!!! Before getting this bra, I had nearly given up on high impact exercise because it hurt too much. I searched for a great workout bra while I was nursing and trying to loose the baby weight as soon as the 6 wks was up (high impact exercise). It was a bit difficult to close myself, however, it is definitely worth the price! I will be using it again for the next baby weight recovery :) Stacey from WI, USA

Love this sports bra. Definitely no need to double up because it keeps everything in place. Only other thing that I would say is that you should order a cup bigger than what you think because I ordered the size that I measured and it's a little tight. Lucia from Chelsea, MA

Great bra - holds the girls in place, however there are two setbacks: 1) My husband has to hook the upper part of the bra. There is the regular hookups and then another set between the shoulder blades. I cannot have this hooked up before I put the bra on - it's impossible. 2) It gives me the Uni-Boob and then they get sweaty and then I breakout. I LOVE my Shock Absorber Arc-Control Sports Bra B5046 - as I don't get the Uni-Boob, however the biggest cup size is DDD and I'm now a GG. Karisa from Minnesota

I walked into every sports store looking for support to hold the "girls" at a locked and loaded position, only to be left disappointed each and every time. I had even went to my specialty bra shop that I think is AMAZING; however, they didn't have what I was looking for. I don't like buying online because I can't be sure it will fit, but this bra is very very true to size. I LOVE IT!!! I am a 38G and I run 2 to 4 miles at least every other day. This bra is great if you are looking for a high impact bra and you don't want black eyes while running. I would suggest it to anyone. Plus it crosses in the back and that feature is hard to find. I can't wait to order more. It is WELL worth the money!!!! Amy from Oklahoma

I have always had large breasts, but in my second trimester of pregnancy, I had a terrible time finding bras to fit. I was excited to try the Shock Absorber bra and at first I was not disappointed. It feels good, and I love the construction of it. However, I do not feel as secure as I would like to. I am still happily wearing it often to walk, work out, and do yoga. Sasha from NYC

I'm normally a 32G to 32GG, so per the sizing chart for this bra, I went down to a 32FF. A little breast tissue peeks over the top (maybe I should ordered a G?), however, since sports bras need to be tight I'm keeping it. This one does a GREAT job of holding my breasts close to my chest and has very comfortable, padded straps. Laura

Probably the best sports bra I've ever bought. Support without mashing. I wore it for over 12 hours yesterday and only at a bit of itching at the back. This may be due to the fact that I have very sensitive skin. A few more washings should soften it up enough to be perfect. I could live without the high price but it is worth it. Mightymom from CA

I guess I'm in the minority here in my opinion of this bra. I'm a 30D and have an extremely difficult time with sports bras. I usually wear a 00 in the Enell, but really wanted something less bulky and maybe more flattering. I bought this bra for running, but I felt like I wasn't even wearing a bra. That's how much bounce I had. The front of the bra is so low that I felt like I would pop out any minute. For me, this bra does not do the trick for running, so I'm back to the Enell. In all fairness, the band fit perfectly. I would order your true band size. I will use this for weight training, elliptical and bike riding. sent to vendor Lynn from Austin, Texas

A great bra. Doesn't completely eliminate bounce, but that might be because I bought a 34DD when I really wear a 34DDD. I would rather have it be too tight than too loose, though. It still fits, just not perfectly. But what I love is that there is NO stretch! None! Even the mesh on the back of the bra isn't stretchy. I recommend buying your normal bra size. Best sports bra I've owned so far, but I'm still gonna keep searching for the perfect one. Cara from NY

My low review is for the terrible miss-sizing of this product. I made sure to size myself perfectly and double-check HerRoom's sizing charts before I made my purchase. I came up as a 28D, and after reading comments on the smaller scup size, I bought a 28DD. I could not be more disappointed. The bra is painfully restricting both around my ribs and my breasts. I tried wearing it for a few hours to stretch it out a bit to no avail. And now due to HerRoom's return policy I cannot return or exchange the bra because I wore it in full confidence that it would be sized properly. This is the second bra I have purchased from HerRoom that has not been sized the way the charts indicate. I doubt I'll buy from HerRoom again until I can be assured that the sizing is correct or the return policy is a little more forgiving. Laura from Sevierville, TN

I absolutely rely on this sports bra. I have 4 of the same style and I don't know what I would do without them. I have this style in two sizes, 28E and 28F. I use the 28Es for running and horseback riding (when I have to sit a trot) and they have saved my breasts! I use the 28Fs for doing my regular barn chores, stretching, and kettle bell workouts. I had Freya sports bras that don't have the racerback; they don't come close to this Shock Absorber. It seems odd to me that everyone is complaining about getting into and out of this bra. It took me FOREVER to find a sports bra with a size 28 band that had a racerback and could hold up to my lifestyle. This bra is it. Sports bras that don't have the racerback just aren't as good: even when the straps stay in place, they can't keep the breasts where they should be. It helps that in both the cup sizes that I have, this bra has double hooks at the top AND bottom of the racerback closure so that I just hook it on backwards, flip it round and put up the straps. Maybe Shock Absorber needs to make them all that way...? Anyway, I've been very, very happy with mine. I've got in white, black, strawberry, and ocean, and I just ordered the teal from a UK based site. Heather from Middlebury, VT

Great sports bra. I am a runner and have just started competing in triathlons. Needed a good sports bra quickly for my first triathlon. Reviews were correct. This bra went from the swim to the bike to the run without a problem. Can be worn alone as a sports top. Minimal bounce while running. So excited I immediately ordered another one & also purchased the D+ Sports bra B109 for an upcoming half marathon. Far superior to any other similar garment I have owned. Sizing guide was accurate. Normally wear a 34H in sports bras. The 34FF fit well in this model. So glad to no longer have to wear a regular bra with 2 to 3 'sports bras' over that followed by a compression top with additional support built in. No chafing, even after swimming in it. This bra is awesome! I have a 3 month old son and have struggled since before I was pregnant to find bras that fit. Now that I am trying to get back into shape (since college and baby), I searched for a sports bra that supported. I have had soo many that ride up and I fall out the bottom or as I jump, they come out the top. Most also stretch terribly and become unsupportive. This one; I was so excited when I recieved it. I tried it on immediatly and jumped and jumped and there was NO movement. Finally a sports bra for a busty nursing mom that allows for a great workout! Thank you!!! Stacey from WI

This bra amazes me. A 40L is my usual size, but this 40HH does the trick (I know that different bra manufacturers use different scale in their cup sizes). I never thought I could find a sports bra that would fit such a large cup size, but this bra really holds me in snugly, and is comfortable to boot! The tiny clasps in the back make it kind of difficult to get on, since you have to wear it so snug there is not a lot of slack to work with, but once I manage to get everything clasped it works great! I haven't been for a run yet, but I feel very secure in this bra and believe that it will be great for activities higher in impact than walking. This is by FAR the best bra I have ever owned! I can't believe how comfortable and supportive it is! It fits perfectly, holding in the "side boob" effect that I often have trouble with. There is almost no bounce. I love the racerback style; it feels very stable, unlike most bras, which slide around on my back. I love this sports bra! Since getting breast implants over a year ago this is the first sports bra that I have found that actually works! It is very supportive and I have absolutely no bounce, chafing or moving around. I do wear a lighter sports bra on top if I am going to be running or doing something really high impact, but that may just be me, as I like absolutely no bounce. However, at the gym on the elliptical this bra is awesome. The only downside to this bra is that I have to have my fiance fasten the top hooks for me as it is practically impossible to do it yourself once its on. Trying to fasten it first then put it on didn't work well for me either. In my everyday bras I am a 28FF, but in this bra I wear a 30E. Maria from Rocklin, CA

After trying numerous sports bras, this is the first one that was able to hold me in while jogging, keep me dry while sweating, and feel comfortable at the same time. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bra! I wore it for the first time on a 10+ mile run with no Body Glide so I could find out where the "hot spots" were and ended my run with NO CHAFING! I could hardly feel it and there was virtually no bounce. I love that it is adjustable at so many points so you can really customize the fit. Also, it isn't this huge, ugly thing so you could wear it on its own if you wanted to. I have already recommended this to several people and am ordering a second one immediately.
