I've been a fan of Shadowline vintage lingerie for many years. These new nighties by the NEW Shadowline are a true testimony to how nice the older Shadowline lingeire was. I was disappointed in the quality of this nightgown. I've bought Shadowline products for years, but this nightgown's fabric is thin, cheap feeling and doesn't look durable. It also runs a size small through the shoulders. Had I tried the nightgown on in a store, I wouldn't have purchased it. I'd recommend against buying.

I got this gown in the Peri Frost. It looks absolutely beautiful. I am about 5'9 and it comes down to about my shin area. I am going to give this 5 stars because it is such a beautiful piece. I would have paid more though for a bit thicker material. I am not complaining about the material other than that it feels a bit thin, but especially paired with the robe it does not seem see through. Nonetheless, the material is a luxurious feeling there is no mistaking that. I paired this up with the robe and it is a very gorgeous set that makes you feel great wearing it. I am definitely going to be looking at Shadowline products in the future there is no question about that. If you are looking for a really nice robe and gown set, this is definitely a top choice. I thought the material was not as good as the Shadowline gowns I have been wearing for years. Maybe I could have worn a large, but I have one on and it is comfortable. So just a little disappointed, but I am okay with it. I did get a different pattern, so that might have been the reason they weren't the same material.

Ordered a large which is what I wear. It was on the small side across the bustline. Not as roomy as the Petals Collection. Loved the gown and the way it is made. Very pretty but way to thin for modesty's sake. Did not order the robe, I ordered the gown to go with the petals robe, but even so the gown is still way to thin. Would absolutely buy more than one if the material was of the Petals Collection.

Very Pretty, soft, inviting....for the bedroom. But in the morning, when there are others around, it is too sheer. Important to me, because I don't do robes very well Longer than expected; almost touched the floor, and I am not short. I would have liked to keep it, but not practical because of the sheerness.

Very disappointing. I have 2 gowns from Shadow Line that I have had for years and loved them. I sent for these (even though they were $46 each) because the ad said "Nothing has changed in their products". Very wrong! I threw away all the tags, etc. because they fit yet they felt lighter. I've worn one of them a few nights and find the fabric of much poorer quality, less opaque, and less comfortable. Really wish I had saved the tags!

This garment was purchased for a close relative who asked me to purchase something for her burial and it had to be purple. I looked all over and found that funeral homes no longer provide this service. We were very pleased with the gown and robe and she looked beautiful. I was able to describe the gown to her before she died, she is blind and could not see it herself only thru my eyes. I know this is a strange story but I was never happier and more pleased. I have this gown and robe in the cream color and liked it so much, I decided to get the black gown. The black fabric is not quite as see thru as the cream. The lace is very soft and comfortable. I am thrilled with this gown. I normally wear a med. size 10-12 and this fits perfectly. It is very, very soft, comfortable and very sheer. The lace is soft, not scratchy. If you want a lot of coverage, you might not be happy with this gown. I bought the vanilla color and it is somewhat see thru. The black gown might not be as sheer. I love it!!! I bought my first nightgown from the Travelsmith catalog about 15 years ago. It is light material, perfect for packing or summer. I love this nightgown for many reasons. First, it is a full gown and goes to my ankles. This keeps the gown from bunching up during the night and makes it great for wearing around the house because it offers some modesty. Second, the nylon fabric is soooo soft and light - it feels wonderful against my skin from top to bottom and has a little bit of see through sheerness. I like the stretch lace fabric at the top which allows for some give during movement. As for sizing, I normally order large in Oscar D as a reference- but got this in a medium . It fits perfectly. Most important for me is the look - it is beautiful and sexy at the same time. I feel so special every time I slip it on. Matched with the robe - WOW !!!! I got the ivory but am going back for the black. I wished they made this in light blue or yellow. This is my first Shadowline item and I will order plenty more things from this manufacturer in the near future. Jayme
