This is a wonderful thin lightweight summer nightie. My only criticism is the garment tag/label is very irritating so I had to cut it out. Because of how it was attached it was impossible to remove without leaving tiny holes which I had to stitch. Sharon from Charleston

Very flattering, even in 3X - I prefer it roomy. Wish the bodice fabric was more robust to provide greater support (like from Olga that used to make this style). The front opening is very deep, so a lot chest exposure- fabric is very thin & light. LAlex

Though beautiful, this nightgown is very, very uncomfortable. The bodice is unlined leaving rough, scratchy lace seams to chaff your perpetually chilly nipples. It is my fault for not reading the descrlption more throughly, but it was so pretty??

This nightgown was a wonderful choice! I actually purchased two nightgowns in this style (ivory and flamingo pink) but received them separately due to low inventory. Wasn't too sure of the color when I ordered this. But the color is very nice. Depending on the light, this can look Light Purple, or a Bluish Purple. Almost like getting two different gowns! Love this! I'm 5/6", size 6 and I ordered the medium, although I probably could have ordered a small. This nightgown is so comfortable I've now ordered two more colors, and the matching rode. The stretch lace is soft and not scratchy. The only thing I would change is to make the bottom solid fabric slightly heavier, to have more body. It clings to the body a bit too much. The style of these garments (robe and gown) is very nice; traditional and alluring, sexy but sophisticated, romantic and elegant, just like the things well dressed women used to consider absolutely necessary to have in their closets. They were also well made. The fabric, however, was another story! It was so thin and cheap; I returned the off white, but kept the black even though I do not like the fabric.

This gown is amazing. It is quite classy and yet sexy all the same. The bodice is sheer, which was a very nice surprise for my husband, but it's only sheer when you get up close. The material of the nightgown is incredibly comfortable and doesn't create any static (one of the reasons I usually don't wear nightgowns). I am 5'1 and 130 lbs with an athletic build, 32D and a small waist. Thus lingerie shopping can be difficult. However, this gown hugged all the right places and the cut of the neckline was very flattering for larger shoulders/breasts. I will definitely be gifting this and recommend it 100%. This is a lovely gown and fairly priced for the quality of the garment.If one is comparing it with the gowns we wore back in the 80s and 90s though you should know that it is not as "glamorous" or as luxurious as the Olga or Vandemere brand was.The material is not as stretchy or silky and the gown is more sheer. Also the sweep is perhaps half of the vintage ones. I have DD bust and the 1X was adequate but not generous so consider that when determining proper size for purchase. I love this gown. It's flows very nicely and reminds me of something from an old movie where people seemed to dress up just to go to sleep. This gown is very sheer, I purchased the Lilac color, and I do have to wear a robe once I leave the bedroom, but the gown is so comfortable and washes ( I handwash only) very nicely. I LOVE this nightgown. As a petite woman with a 41DDD bust and curvy hips/bottom, it's hard to find a nightgown that is sexy but also comfortable and gives a bit of support/control for the bust and a little camoflage for the tummy/bottom. The lace fabric on top is stretchy, and the straps are nice and wide. Combined with the horizontal panel below the bust, it provides just enough fitted support to make a larger bust feel comfortable and look great. The volume and drape of the skirt is lovely - my belly/bottom are the areas I cringe about showing, and this really made me feel comfortable. I am 5''2", and the length was perfect - at the ankle, no dragging. Fit was perfect - you can trust their measurement guide. Be aware that the fabric IS sheer, as described. I really wish they also made this exact same pattern in a lined bodice or opaque fabric, because the cut/design is perfect. I love that this comes in more colors than the standard black/red/white/pastels. I bought the purple one, and the color is gorgeous - like a medium lilac shade. I will be back for more! Garment was shorter than anticipated, but then I'm taller than most but I'd hoped buying a bigger size would help with that, which it didn't. I was also disappointed that the dress is COMPLETELY see through from top to bottom, which you can't tell from the picture or descrlption. I wish I hadn't taken the tags off before trying it on so I could return it, but now I know to be extra careful when ordering from this site.

My husband bought me this lovely gown. It fits perfectly (He used my dress size and the sizing chart to figure this out). I have other Shadowline gowns (black and Ivory) and I love them, they are so soft and comfortable, but most of all they make me feel pretty. There was only one problem, they didn't come in a Texas A&M maroon color (This is a necessity for our family). While I was out of town, He ordered an ivory color from HerRoom and then died it a beautiful Maroon color with Rit (Wine) liquid die. The nylon and the lace took the color evenly and perfectly. This is a pretty gown, but when you get older and the girls don't stand like they used to, it makes the gown look frumpy. So if you are perky this would be beautiful.

This gown and robe are beautiful. I ordered it in the Peri Frost. The color is beautiful and subtle and true to the color on the screen and the fit is perfect. I am 5'4 1/2 @ 135 lbs with a D bust size and the length of the gown and robe lightly brush the top of my foot. The fit is very nice and the flow of the gown is light, soft and gives an elegant feel and movement. The lace top on the gown is beautifully detailed and the way the robe buttons around the front is flattering and fits well. I have four young boys and have felt I needed to be in touch with my feminine side once again. This definitely does it! The price is great for the product. Love the color and fabric. The fit is for the most part really good, as it's got so much flowing fabric that you can't go wrong. However, the lace bodice is pretty but I feel it is going to stretch out rather quickly, which will cause the top to not stay up as it should. Time will tell. It is okay. The top could be fuller and keeps falling out. The quality is not as good as I had hoped for it is a bit skimpy in the skirt, but as I needed a new gown it will do for now.

Finally! A fitted bodice gown! Extremely difficult to find. Provides gentle support and comfortable for sleeping. Fabric is very light - wish it was just a bit less 'see-thru' but overall it's a lovely gown. Nice fit, looks pretty. I was looking for a gown with padded or lined cups, this is not it. Seam for shaping is sewn in the lace of the bust area, but does not offer any support. This is the most flattering nightgown imaginable. I was heavier and had the shadowline in the 1X and it made me feel tall, thin and sexy. It makes me look like a size 8 in the Large and I weigh 180 lbs. The only problem is they do not make an XL and the L is only half the size of the !X. I really like this nightgown. I was replacing several of a similar style that I just couldn't find in stores any longer. I need the soft minor support provided by the stretch lace that is missing from most of the sleepwear available. I'm small chested but big hipped and this gown can make it all look seamless. There's a lot of give in the top part which means when my chest changes sizes during the month, it accommodates. That's not an issue for everyone, but it is for me. Also I'm pretty tall, and it's hard to find a nice long gown. This one falls about mid-calf but will probably be floor length on shorter folks. I got this during my pregnancy because I was tired of feeling so frumpy at home and wanted something that didn't have me looking like a hippo. This lovely gown had me feeling pretty again as soon as I slipped it on. I got it with the matching robe all in white and my husband started calling me the milk fairy when I wore it. It has been very comfortable because of the stretch lace bodice and has adapted to the changes since the baby was born. Now I truly am the 'milk fairy'! So nice to find a garment so flattering while granting some modesty to the wearer. The sizing is generous since the medium covered me in my last months of pregnancy. The gown is beautiful and in the style that I can no longer find in stores. When I received my order I tried the gown on and was very pleased. After sleeping in it I realized ordering down 1 size was not quite enough. Being a side sleeper and the straps being very stretchy the "girls" kept escaping. I am sure that has a lot to do with me being so short and having fuller breasts. I think if I had ordered a small the fit would have been better for a side sleeper. Elizabeth from Texas

I have always liked this style of gown and in the past few years I have been unable to find them in any of our local department stores. I was concerned that it might be too long, but it wasn't. This gown fits beautifully and feels just as good. I am 5' 4" and the length is perfect (it just sweeps the tops of my feet). I was very disappointed in this gown. the quality was so-so. But the biggest issue is that the back portion of the top of the gown is elastic. it is so stretchy. if you have any breasts the weight will not be supported by the structure of this gown. and while the lace front does have elastic also, it's not strong enough to hold breasts of much size either. weird construction. i'm returning it.
