The center front measurement is from your natural waist. Measuring from your waist to the dress hem line and then subtracting 1” will give you the proper length. The slip fits like the sizing suggests. I am 5'4" and the small fits well. However, the quality of the slip is just like any other that I find in the stores around here. I ordered this slip to wear under a full-length dress. I normally wear a large, but ordered an XL in this slip, and it fit perfectly. The dress had a floor-to-knee back slit; I wore this sideways, opened the side seam/scallop a little bit, and it was just right. Very soft and comfortable - would definitely recommend. First to actually find slips that are real slips and not those god awful spanx is so exciting. The slip runs just a wee bit on the small side and the sizing tag is a bit annoying. The elastic waistband is a little uncomfortable, but the slip works for now. Soften the elastic waist band and get rid of the size tag and it would be a great slip. PERFECT SLIP!!!! i have been searching for a long half slip and finally found this one on amazon. It is true to size according to the chart. i falls about 2 inches above the ankle and i am 5'4". I bought this slip to wear under a crocheted maxi-dress that was lined only to the thigh area. I didn't want the world to have to see my less than lovely upper legs, but thought an average length half slip might make the dress look a little "choppy." The long slip works well. The slip fits exactly as described - it's not too tight, but not full at all - just slightly A-line. The double slits make it easy to walk, as the dress also has side slits. My only "complaint" is very slight. I wish the slip were jus a little bit longer. The length is about 2-3 inches higher than my ankles and I would prefer that the bottom of the slip hit right at ankle length. Very thin and cheap feeling, it also doesn't offer very much coverage. I got it for a maxi skirt that I recently bought that was a bit see-through. The length is good and it fits well but I was disappointed that it barely offered me any additional coverage. I have to wear another short slip underneath to get the coverage I really want.
