I've been looking for this bra for several years and finally found it here! Fitting info was spot on, I probably could have gone down a cup size, but still extremely happy with the fit. Very comfortable right out of the package and the great support

This bra is near perfect. Be coverage is exactly what you want in a full coverage bra. The straps have just enough give and hold on the adjustment that you feel comfortable and supported. The problem with the bra comes with its hardware.

I like the shaping of this bra. My breasts are long, and bra accommodates w/o smashing down mass under my armpits. But I had to return the bra and detract a star because of puckering at the seam. It showed under a variety of tops so not useful.

I love the fit, lift, and support of this bra! But I think I’m allergic to whatever the elastic is made from, because I get a bad rash every time I wear this bra. I’m sad to give it up but I just can’t wear it.

Love this bra, this is the 3rd time I have purchased it. The first time was not from you. I received my bras promptly but just realized that one has a defect. Will be returning one shortly. These, on average are lasting well over a year so was surprised when I discovered the defect. Think it was just missed stitches but would certainly not hold up.

My larger bust size has made it difficult for me to find affordable vintage reproduction bras but luckily I found this one. The seamed cups give my bust a slightly pointed look and the cups actually cover me. Unfortunately the 34H is too small in the cups and too large in the band. Hopefully, after talking to someone about sizing, they have a size that fits me.

Not enough support and lift.
Goddess Response: The majority of your bra’s lift and support should come from the back band. If you don’t feel as lifted as you’d like, then going down at least one size in the band should be your next step. A firm band will lift you from the bottom up and alleviate pressure on your neck and shoulders. We recommend you try Alice in a 46G!

This bra fits my size, however it gives an unnatural shape to your breasts. It is uncomfortable and moves around due to no underwire. I would not recommend a person who likes stable support to buy this bra.
Goddess Response: If you find your bra moving around on your body, there is a good chance that the band is too big for you and going down a band size will provide more stability and support. While sizing down in the band you will need to go up in the cup. A 36G in this style should work perfectly!

I was very disappointed as it has stretch straps which I hate!!!!!! The description said limited stretch straps which usually means non stretch with two to three inches of elastic at the back. I don't know who would think a 46DDD would want stretch straps. For many years, I wore the same Goddess bra that I loved and can not find anymore. Guess it is time to try other brands!
Goddess Response: This bra was designed with limited stretch in the straps to give better range of movement and to provide superior comfort. If you are experiencing excessive digging from your straps, you might consider going down a band size (and up a cup size) when purchasing this style. A firmer band would give you more support from the bottom up, and take some stress away from your shoulders and straps.

This bra is supposedly a C cup. I could fit another breast on the top of each breast in order to fill out the cups. The band is fine. The cups are way too big. I plan on returning this bra as soon as my back order bra arrives so I can return them together, assuming that one will have huge cups also.

I bought this bra because I wanted to try one without an underwire. It has decent support for a wire-free bra. However, I gave it 3 stars because the side stays dig into my ribs. It becomes quite painful by the end of the day. I doubt I will buy another one of these bras.
HerRoom Response: We suggest trying Anita 5427 because of the comfort factor this bra has and it does not have a side stays

I have very heavy breasts and I bought this bra because in summer I tend to get a rash from underwire bras. It is serving its purpose but I can feel the difference an underwire provides in the support department. Wish Elomi would use a hypoallergenic underwire material. Elomi provides the best support I have found.
Goddess Response: It is essential to put your bra on properly and to have your correct size. Very often if breast tissue is resting on the tummy this creates a rash. The breast tissue needs to be lifted up and full contained in the cup (ie: the bottom of the breast needs to sit directly on the bottom of the cup). Please check out HerRoom's How to Put on a Bra video.

I am switching to no underwire bras and was glad to find this site. This bra is the best of three I ordered. I am definitely happy with it giving me so me shape and support . All the structure in the cup does the trick . Only complaint is is creeps up in the back so I have to pull it down throughout the day. Also it is just a tiny like half size too big in the pointy part of the breast so when I wear t shirts it's a little wrinkly there. Definitely a good step on my way to finding my perfect bra.

Strap around my body is too wide so it digs into me and flips up. Also not as elastic as a regular bra so it's hard to put on and has less give. In my size (on a Goddess 6080 this size is perfect), the cups are too small creating nice cleavage, but some discomfort. I had hoped to get away from underwire (which digs under my armpit and causes welts under my breasts), but this is not the solution I hoped for. I consider it uncomfortable, but at least it isn't painful like underwire is.
Goddess Response: You might love our Adelaide Banded Underwire Bra GD6660, which is an updated version of GD6080 that you liked so much. Adelaide does have under-wires, but if you’re in the correct size, under-wires can be super comfortable! Please refer to Tomima’s fabulous fit tips to help you find your perfect size.

It is a pretty bra, which is hard to find in a soft cup in this size. Support is okay but not fantastic. The weight of the breasts can cause the back to ride up a bit due to the elastic straps, instead of the breasts being lifted.
Goddess Response: You can increase the support of the bra by going down in band size, and up in cup size. Most of the support comes from the body of the bra, not the straps. If the band is too loose, all the weight of the breasts will be carried by the straps. The band will ride up in the back, and the breasts will fall down in the front.

I wore the Goddess 386 for years and loved it, but unfortunately it was discontinued. The straps on this bra are too stretchy for large breasts, they dig in and don't give support. For this price this bra should be made of better quality.
Goddess Response: Most of the support comes from the body of the bra, not the straps. If the band is too loose, all the weight of the breasts will be carried by the straps, and they will then dig into your shoulders – so painful!
Going down in the band and up in the cup will give you the best support in any style you choose to wear. You might want to try our Clara Soft Cup Bra GD6631 for a more updated look.

I find the straps to be somewhat uncomfortable. the heavier the busts more padding is needed for the straps to prevent them from digging into the shoulders and causing bruising. However, the bra did make me look better in my clothes despite the uncomfortability of the straps.

Wow, so like this soft cup bra! I'm going to have to return it, though, as the lace fabric is too itchy for me. I'm not saying it's uncomfortable fabric, it's just I have sensitive skin, so don't be put off if you love lace! I was so excited to try this bra because I've heard such good things about Goddess. Well, the full-coverage cups did not disappoint. They are generous, so if you feel you're between cup sizes, consider going down. The band is plenty roomy, and very comfortable. I'm a 34 band and a 43 bust, so I ordered a 34J (D7) but it was a bit full in the cups. Not super-loose, but enough that I realize my size in Goddess is probably going to be a 34I. So today I placed a separate order for a Goddess Keira satin underwire in 34I to try and I'm sure it will be a better choice for me. I guess I like the super-smooth satiny fabrics, but to each her own. Oh, one more thing: major torpedo-boob effect on this bra, so keep that in mind. Hope this helps!

I measured as described, but the cup size on this bra was at least 1 cup size too large. The coverage and support are excellent. I don't like the lace over the top of the under-fabric, and prefer a satiny cup, however.
Goddess Response: Chris, we love the coverage and support of this style too, but GD6040 does run a bit full in the cup.
You might like our newest soft-cup style Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121

This is a comfy bra! I've had problems finding a bra that fits and feels good, and this is as close to perfect as I've ever tried. The cups lift nicely without too much digging at the shoulders. The only concern I have with the style is there doesn't seem to be much separation, which is especially a concern in the summer months (it's just too hot!). But that's the only drawback and the only reason why this didn't get a 5 star review. Ordering was easy and my package arrived much sooner than I expected. Thanks, Her Room!

I hate the straps and the cup doesn't fit. I love Playtex 18 hour but they don't sell it in black.
Goddess Response: Very often it’s the size, not the style which is the problem. Even the best bra in the world can’t do the job it’s meant to do (support the breast tissue)
if it’s worn in an incorrect size. Also bear in mind that all brands fit differently depending on style and fabrication, so it’s important to be flexible about your size.
If you’re looking for a gorgeous soft-cup bra in black, take a peek at our Keira Soft Cup Bra GD6093
. Keira is quite a glamorous concoction with a sheer panel on the
top cup for a lighter more stylish look.

This bra was slightly too large in the cup although it fit well otherwise. Also, did not have the color that I would have preferred. The nude I ordered was a darker shade than I really like.
Goddess Response: Barbara, this style does run slightly fuller in the cup. Next time just order one cup size smaller (UCS 42D5, or 42H) for that perfect fit.

Fit is good. It has hard stays on the sides. They are so uncomfortable on my short wasted body. I thought because it was not an underwire I would have nothing poking me. Still searching for a bra that will fit and be comfortable.
Goddess Response: We use stays in the wings to provide maximum stability and support and to prevent the band from curling. We completely understand your dilemma though, and if you simply cannot tolerate an under-wire, perhaps try taking the stays out as an absolute last resort.
A very common misconception is that an under-wire bra is often uncomfortable, and the only truly comfy bra is wire-free. Yes, under-wire bras can be uncomfortable when they’re worn in the wrong size. If worn in the correct size, under-wire bras can be just as comfortable –or even more comfortable –than wire-free bras!
The most common mistake is the cups being too small (so the under-wire digs into tender breast tissue –OW!) and the band is too big –so there is no anchorage and the breasts are not supported.
It’s crucial, vitally important, that you’re in the correct size, to get the best support and the most comfort out of your bra!
Maybe try an under-wire bra, you might be pleasantly surprised…

Goddess Response: You might want to try our brand new Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121 which features a movable strap cushion for extra comfort. The fabrication is smooth, and the seams are as flat as we can make them to minimize show-through. If you can wear an under-wire bra, perhaps try ourHannah Underwire Molded Side Support Bra GD6131. I have bought several of these bra's in the last year or so, in the black, purple and beige, so I was happy to see it in the gorgous peacock blue shade! I have to wear a bra pretty much 23-7, so its nice to have color choices, and a sweet sale price! I have worn this in a 36 J also. The ONLY thing I don't like on this bra is the side wire stays. I find after I cut them all out, they feel much better, b4 I did, they poked into my under armpit.

The bra was too big and the straps were all stretch, that do not hold after a while. I would not buy this type of bra. I did not know that the straps were elastic.
Goddess Response: Very often it’s the size not the style which is the problem. Marlene, you mention the bra is too big: Even the most perfect bra in the world can’t do the job it was designed to do (support the breast tissue) if it’s worn in an incorrect size.
Most of the support should come from the “body” of the bra –not the straps –the straps are there to help. The straps on this style are a restricted stretch fabrication, and they’re designed to support the sizes that are available in this particular style (provided it’s worn in the correct size).
I think you’ll most probably need a smaller band size and a larger cup size.

I love this bra. As a very large breasted, but not large bodied woman, it is very difficult to find bras that fit comfortably and do not cut into my shoulders. This bra is the first one I have ever found that will support me fully and comfortably. The only downside is that there is no separation between the breasts, at least not for me, but I have gotten used to that by now. I have purchased 4 of these over the last 2 years and they are still in very good condition. Wonderful bra!

I wanted Goddess 386, which is a great bra. No longer available. Her Room stated that Goddess 6040 is a replacement. Not so! 6040 is not like 386 and does not fit well at all. I returned it. Please bring back 386!
Goddess Response: I know it’s very difficult when a manufacturer replaces a style you’ve loved with another new one! GD6040 is slightly updated and features a side panel to bring the breast tissue forward and out from under the arms for a very slimming, lifted look. You mention GD6040 doesn’t fit well at all, and very often that can mean you may need a different size in this style. Please refer to HerRoom’s fabulous fitting guides to help.

I found the material itchy and the cup size ran quite small, despite using all the sizing charts Her Room makes available.
Goddess Response: Sunny, as you know all brands fit differently –depending on the style and fabrication –so it’s important to be flexible about your size. Fortunately GD6040 goes to a D10, so you can go up in the cups as much as you’d need to. We find soaking the bra in fabric softener for a while will help to get rid of any itch problem. Absolutely not the bra for me. I need an underwire bra; this bra offered me no support whatsoever.
Goddess Response: GD6040 is one of our most supportive styles, so you might have ordered an incorrect size.
Very often it’s the size, and not the style which is the problem. Even the most wonderful bra in the world won’t be able to do its job (support the breast tissue) if it’s worn in the wrong size. GD6040 is also available in an under-wire version (Goddess Alice Underwire Full Cup Bra GD6041), and fortunately Goddess offers many under-wire bra options, so you have lots of styles to choose from. I was excited about this bra, but three things about it have since made it only "OK".
1) It it constructed to give breasts a more triangle shape, a la the 1940s. My husband affectionately dubs this the "Polaris Missile effect".
2) The surface of the bra is rather rough and catches bits of anything fluffy I wear (a fleece, a sweater, etc).
3) Due to the lack of underwire, my breasts move closer to each other during the day instead of being kept apart. This may be an issue with all soft cup bras-- I'm not sure, this is my first. However, it's both uncomfortable and causes the bra to not offer great support.
Goddess Response: You’re correct, GD6040 does give a very lifted, defined, “European” look. And yes, breasts do have a tendency to migrate towards the center of the cups when there is no under-wire to help separate them (and this can also happen when the cups are too small). For another soft cup option without lace, have a look at our brand new style, Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121. The fabrication is a matte simplex, smooth and bump-free, and it also features a movable strap cushion for the ultimate in comfort. Goddess offers lots of under-wire choices as well. You might love our Goddess Keira Banded Underwire Bra GD6090: The fabrication is a silky-smooth satin simplex… –smooth and no lumps!

It fit ok but by the end of the day it was rolling under and the side stay were poking me so not so comfortable for me
Goddess Response: Joelle, please make sure you’re adjusting your breast tissue into the cups as you’re putting the bra on: By “swooping and scooping” all of the breast tissue from the back to the front into the cups you’ll change the fit and feel of the bra completely. The seams and stays will line up exactly where they’re supposed to be to provide the best lift and support, so placing your breast tissue into the cups properly is a vital step ensuring comfort and correct fit. Please refer to HerRoom's Bra Fitting Page to help.
You might also want to try our brand new Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121. Audrey is also a full coverage soft cup bra –just like Alice is –but Audrey also features a moveable strap cushion for extra super-duper comfort.

I really like this bra. It is comfortable, and has good support without underwires. I did have to remove the stays on the side, because they dug into my skin at the bottom, near the band. If I could find shorter stays, I would replace it with one about 1/4 inch shorter.

I was really disappointed with this item. It itches like crazy and doesn't fit well. I didn't have the money on hand to pay for return shipping, so I since I was stuck with it, I tried to make it work. I'm sure it wold be fine for ladies with conical breasts, but mine are very round and it looked awful under a shirt. I took out the side wires thinking maybe I could sleep in it, but it was so itchy. I washed it 3 times with heavy fabric softener, and it still feels like its a heavy wool/fire ant blend. This is the first one of this brand I have ever tried, and I was not pleased.
Goddess Response:
We’re so sorry you were disappointed in this bra, and this is the first time I’ve ever been told of any problems with the fabric, as this bra is a longtime customer favorite! As a last resort, perhaps try soaking the bra in 1/8th cup of white vinegar which might help to soften the fabric further.
Goddess is introducing a brand new style at the end of the year, Audrey (GD6121): Audrey is a soft-cup bra available up to Universal Cup Size D11 cup, and the fabric is a smooth simplex (no lace). Stay tuned, we think you’ll love it!

It fit correctly, but made by boobs really pointy. So much so that my 9 year old son even commented about it. I haven't worn it again since then. It seems that a little pocket of "boob" goes right into the tip of the bra and feels very strange.
Goddess Response:
GD6040 does give a bit of a defined “European” silhouette, which isn’t for everyone. If you’re willing to try an under-wire bra, you’ll find that generally the profile is much rounder. Try Goddess Alice Underwire Full Cup Bra GD6041, the under-wire “sister” to GD6040 in the Alice collection.

I love the style and cut of the bra. It is holding up well to everyday use and washes well. My only issue with this garment is that it has boning on the sides. In a design without underwire this in not needed.

Breaks my heart to give this 2 stars. It fit perfectly, nice smooth finish on the inside. Excellent workmanship on the sewing. If this bra works for you it will probably last a very long time. It was not for me. Almost no support which is unacceptable. If the design won't support this size then don't sell it in this size - so 2 stars for Goddess. My breasts are big and heavy and saggy. If that's your deal pass on this and stick with a wire.
Also, do be aware shaping in this is like the old fashioned bras, a little on the pointy side. Not rating good or bad on that as it's personal taste.

The bra is comfortable and shapes well, I just had a baby girl so my cup size has increased a great deal and this bra relieves me of he weight. The only thing that prevents this bra from being perfect is the way the boning or structure piece digs into my underarm. Nice bra, good support and comfort level. Some days it's just heaven not to have to endure underwires! The cups are a bit pointy but my experience is that this abates after wearing a few times. I really am not reviewing the bra as it didn't fit - I used the sizing guide but the size ordered was a good 4 inches small in the band, and the cups were far too large. I did the measurements 3 times so I know I had them right. I intend to go to a store where I can try various sizes to see what size I really need, then may re-order this bra in a different size. I did love the purple color and the bra looks well made.
Goddess Response:
Sometimes there’s quite a lot of trial-and-error involved in finding your perfect size, and that process can be very frustrating! It might be easier to be fitted professionally, and then come back to HerRoom to order.

Bra is beautiful. I'm a sucker because it is purple, but I wanted a wireless bra- it has wire in the sides that is very "pokey." I am having my friend remove them, which is kind of an extra pain to have to do for a 50ish dollar bra. Not as soft a material as the Goddess 110- wish they didn't stop making that one. : (

This bra felt very scratchy on my skin. Did not support me well, but kept it for looks (beautiful rich red color and lacy).
Goddess Response:
GD6040 is one of the most supportive styles we make, which leads me to believe you may not be in the correct size. We’ve not heard that this bra is scratchy, so your skin might be ultra sensitive… You might try rinsing the bra in a bit of fabric softener to help prevent that irritation. I can deal with cone shape as long as they are supported well. It does sort of make a uni-boob in front. I figure I need a bigger cup size, but they don't have them.
Goddess Response:
We’re so glad you love this style… we do too! It sounds very much like the cups aren’t large enough for you. Very often we get a “pointy” look when the cups are too small –too much breast tissue is being forced into a space that’s too small. A larger cup will give you a rounder shape. Happily we’re expanding the cup size range in this style which will be available soon. Thanks for the feedback!

The cup size is too small. I made a mistake. The Universal Cup Size told me that an Elomi 40J equals a Goddess 40M. I should have gotten the M, the cup on the J is too small.
Goddess Response:
Yes, a 40J in the Elomi brand (Universal Cup Sizing 40D10) is equivalent to a 40M in the Goddess brand (UCS 40D10). Goddess 6040 goes to a K-cup at the moment. If a Goddess 40K (UCS 40D8) is too small for you in this style, perhaps try Goddess bra 6041
which offers cup sizes to an N-cup (UCS D11).

It fits fine, looks fine, but is not comfortable. I had to take the side stays out as they dug into my sides. I won't buy this style again.
Goddess Response:
It might be the size and not the style which is causing that discomfort. It could be that going up or down in the band or cup would help alleviate the problem (and Goddess offers plenty of cup and band sizes to choose from). Please refer to Tomima’s 3 Steps to a Fabulous

Fairly comfortable but makes my breasts look like cones. I feel like Donna Reed when I wear it. If I tried this on in the store, I wouldn't have bought it. But I'm too lazy to ship it back to the store, and it is supportive. So I am keeping it.
Goddess Response:
Kristin, at 38D your cup size is not large, so perhaps Goddess 6040 is a bit too much bra for you: I think you’d love our
. The shape is less “defined” than God6040, and the fabrication is a silky simplex …gorgeous, super supportive, and comfy!

Not enough support for a larger busted woman!
Goddess Response:
This bra is one of the most supportive bras on the market. Very often it’s the size, not the style which isn’t working. The most common mistake is to go up in the band when the bra doesn’t feel right, when they should actually be increasing the cup size. We see women wearing their bands too loose, and their cups too small all the time! It might well be that you need a snugger band and a bigger cup to give you the ultimate support you’re looking for. This style offers M-cups so you could go down in the band to a 34, and up in the cup as much as you need to. Please refer to Tomima’s 3 Steps to a Fabulous Fit
to help guide you.

I was reluctant to try the Alice because I thought that the material and boning would make it stiff and uncomfortable. I was so pleasantly surprised when it arrived and the fit was perfect, (more so than I have found in years) and the fabric was light and comfortable. The fabric is embroidered, so I don't think I will wear it under sheers and tshirts. I should note that, on the advice of HerRoom I ordered the 36J instead of my usual 38H and that made such an improvement in fit.

I am very pleased with my purchasing experience with HerRoom. The shipping took a little less than a week, which was shorter than I had expected. I tried the bra on and it was a nearly perfect fit. I have slight spillage over the side under my arms, but not enough to be annoying. The material doesn't irritate my skin, which is a plus because that was a concern for me. It's very comfortable, especially the straps. Most of the bras I purchase end up digging trenches in my shoulder blades because my bust is so heavy (as you can tell from my cup size). And the best part, NO UNDERWIRE!! I have excellent support in spite of that and that was my main concern. I like this bra a lot and am going to order in another color. Hope this review is helpful.

I just received the Goddess 6040 Alice in the mail. It's wonderful - a comfortable fit right out of the package. This is after many many trials trying to order the right bra. It has good support, straps don't hurt my shoulders, the cups contain me even on the sides. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the embroidered fabric - why would they make a bra with lumpy fabric that might show through? I will wear this bra with any garments that I can and will have to find a smooth bra for tee shirts, etc. All in all, I'm very happy.

Worst bra I've ever worn. I measured to ensure buying the correct size yet the stays were digging into my sides within 2 hours of putting it on. Also extremely dislike having cone shaped breasts and extreme lack of support. I've had great Goddess bras in the past but this one was a complete waste of money. Terrible.
Goddess Response:
Jamie it’s difficult to say, as you don’t mention which Goddess bras you’ve worn in the past. Very often it’s the size and not the style that’s not working. Goddess 6040 is one of our most supportive bras, which leads me to believe you might just have ordered it in an incorrect size: It could be the cups are actually too small. You have left several negative reviews on many of our bras. I think your cup sizing is simply the issue here.

I don't like this bra. It rides up in the back. Also the seams show across the breast area. I like a smooth look. Very disappointing.
Goddess Response:
We love a bra with seams because seams support, shape, and define the breasts.
If however like many women you prefer a smooth look, try Goddess 6011, a totally seam-free bra which will give you a gorgeous natural shape under clothing.
If your band is riding up in the back, it’s a sure sign that the band is simply too big, and when the band is too big the breasts aren’t being properly supported. It’s the body of the bra which should offer most of the support, not the straps.

In the classic style I wore a size 38. In this new style, the biggest they carry is a K, and it is no where near the same cup as the classic 38I. I find it to me ridiculous!!! I am not satisfied at all with the new bra.

You might want to get a larger band like a 40 or 42K and alter the band to accommodate the cup size that you need.

The bra ordered was advertised as a replacement for the Goddess 106. It was no way near the same bra. It had no underwire for one thing. I had to return it and I will continue my search for a bra that is comfortable to me. thank you.
Goddess Response:
Nell, you’re correct, 6040 doesn’t have an under-wire, but its “sister bra” (Goddess 6041) does, and it’s the replacement for Goddess 106.
Like Goddes 106, it will give you fantastic lift and support; and like Goddess 106, it’s a full-coverage bra. And it has a much improved unique construction.
The wire finishes below the neck edge of the bra, so there’s perfect bust separation, while the higher neckline gives wonderful control, and minimizes bounce.
I promise you, if you loved Goddess 106, you’ll love Goddess 6041 even more!

The bra seemed to fit really well. Band and cup were both the right size. The boning on the sides was extremely uncomfortable for me, and at the end of a day of wearing the bra, my skin was rubbed raw at the bottom end of the boning. These probably work for some women, but I would recommend anyone considering them to be very careful when trying them on to try to figure out whether she thinks the boning would bother her over the course of a day.

Nice bra but side 'sling' and stay did not provide enough support or shaping. I returned it and ordered the similar underwire bra and a larger cup size, which is working out okay. This is my first experience with Goddess and I will likely keep buying the brand if the new size works out. I also bought the elomi soft cup and kept it because the underarm support and shaping were better for me.

Somewhat large cup size, but am unsure what to do about it!
Vendor Response:
GD6040 offers lots of cup sizes, so it’s very easy to find the size you need! If you’re feeling the cups are too large, simply go down a cup size to a 36G. Also be sure to “swoop and scoop” all of your breast tissue from the back to the front to fill the cups. This will make all the difference in how the bra fits you. Lifts properly but the wire in the sides digs in. It may be how I put it on (it only hurts on the right side) but I just am not able to hook bras in the back. I have to hook in the front and then turn them around.
Goddess Response:
It does sound as if you’re not putting the bra on properly: It’s just as important to put the bra on correctly as it is to find the right size and style (please refer to Tomima’s 3 Steps to a Fabulous Fit).
Here’s a great tip if you have difficulty hooking the bra in the back… Put on a half-slip (or Spanx – whatever you happen to have) and bring it up right underneath your breasts -now fasten the bra over the slip: Since there’s no drag of the bra on your skin, it will slide around your torso with ease. Pull the slip or the Spanx out from under… -and voila, you’re in the bra!

This bra was very pointy at the end of the cups. I couldn't have hid it even with a thick sweater.
Goddess Response:
It could be that the cups are slightly too big for you.
Very often if there’s too little breast tissue to fill the cup, the silhouette can look a bit projected. Try going down a cup size (to 36H); also make sure to swoop-and-scoop your breast tissue (from the back to the front) to ensure all of the breast tissue is encapsulated in the cups. And please refer to Tomima’s 3 Steps to a Fabulous Fit for the “how to” of it.

With this bra, I was taking a chance on a different model and style. I was not impressed. It's possible that I bought the wrong size, but I did not feel that this bra had a sufficient hold. I had a very noticeable bounce as I walked down the hall, and it was not attractive. I will be returning this one and going back to the style I am familiar with.
Goddess Response:
Wish I knew which styles you’ve been wearing in the past. Very often a style won’t work because it’s not the correct size… Usually it’s because the band is too big and the cup is too small. Goddess 6040 is truly one of the most supportive bras on the market. It’s built for maximum support with double layer fabric on the bottom cup, and stabilizing seams. However all of these features can’t do the job if the size isn’t correct.
If the breast tissue is fully contained in the cups, and the band is snug enough, you should feel total support and no bounce.

This bra was such a disappointment. The straps were so stretchy, there was no support whatsoever. I was so hoping this bra was "the one" after reading the reviews. It was like being held up by rubber bands, the girls bounced all over the place. Needless to say, I returned the bra.
Goddess Response:
6040 is one of our real faves and offers the ultimate in support, so I’m very surprised to hear about your disappointing experience. As you know most of the support for the breast tissue should come from the “body” of the bra (the band and cups) and not from the straps. In order to achieve this it sometimes helps to go down in the band, and up one or two cup sizes. Perhaps try a 36J or even a 36K.
We use restricted stretch straps for support and ease of movement. The slight stretch allows the armhole to give when the bra is pulled on over larger arms.

The band is wide enough that it provides security (which I definitely need), the cups fit true to size, the wires fit appropriately at the side and fit snug to the breast bone, so I have proper separation (HOORAY!!) Elastic straps not a good choice for size I cup. Non-elastic straps are needed in order to prevent the bra from sagging down when being worn.
Goddess Response:
The straps on 6040 are very restricted stretch to provide freedom of movement. Most of the support should come from the "body" of the bra, not the straps. Judging from what you're telling me, it sounds like most if not all of the support is coming from the straps, because the body of the bra isn't doing its job.
It definitely sounds as if the band may be too loose, and the cups might even be too small. All of the breast tissue must be contained in the cups and the band should feel like a good hug around the torso so the bra can give you that super support that you're looking for.

Yay! A soft cup bra that fits a smaller, narrower body with large breasts! It is so hard to find bras in my size! This one fits well and is comfortable. The only thing to be aware of is that the stays in the back (the only stays) take a little getting used to.
Would I buy this bra again, I am just about to buy several more of them! :-)

Was pleased with the bra since I'm having a hard time finding one that fit. The only complaint is it needs a little more support.

Comfortable, yet I still think more support can be given as far the lift area, but overall very impressed in the comfort.

This bra is AMAZING!! I was laughed out of the Lane Bryant for asking about a bra that would make my boobs more pointy. I think most bras these days make me look too rounded, which to me makes me look wider. This bra pulls everything UP, and FRONT, which gives me a slimmer profile. I absolutely love the look of it. It is pretty comfortable and I didn't find the cups too large. My only problem is that when I sit down, the bottom elastic rolls up. I'm sure this is a problem with me, though, and not with the bra! I highly recommend it, and the price is GREAT. I can't believe I spent over $100 on Prima Donna bras that I don't like as much as this one.

This bra is not promoted as a minimizer but it does a great job of it. Seems to run small, I had to go up a cup size. I am big busted, have a small frame and the Goddess line seems to work the best.

Absolutely horrible. The worst bra I've worn in a long time. The cups are conical in shape, so give very pointy "rocket boobs." What a waste of money.
Goddess Response: It’s difficult to comment, as I don’t know which bras or brands you’ve been accustomed to wearing. This style may give a more defined silhouette than you’re used to, but if you’re in the correct size, the look is definitely not pointy.

I love the Goddess bras and was having a hard time finding them from my local stores. I am so glad I found HerRoom. These bras are a newer version of the one's I had worn before and I love them. The are thinner and very comfortable. The straps do not slip off my shoulders. I love it.

Well Hello girls is all I could say when I first tried on this bra. My boobs were lifted to a place they had not been in a long while. This bra is so comfortable because it has an elastic panel on the neckline which makes it quite flexible but the hold/support is still amazing. I'd like to see this bra in more colors, maybe a light pink/skintone.

Pretty good support.... and it looks nice.... and with my size it's hard to find a bra that fits and this one fit.... However, it is very uncomfortable. The sides (under the arms) kinda digs into the side of your boob and your underarm. It just feels like it's in the way. I make sure to buy my band size fitting very snug so it won't ride up...so that's not the problem.
Goddess Response:
I know, there’s nothing more annoying than the sides of a bra digging into the underarm. This bra is built for extreme support, so it provides very full coverage. Sometimes I’ll go down in the cup so the sides of the bra don’t come up so high under the arm.

This bra looks nice, comes in large cup sizes..which is hard to find...It gives pretty good support... BUT I'm returning it because I find it extremely uncomfortable. The side bands(under your arms) is extremely wide and it just feels like it digs into my underarm. I can't stand that feeling. I am using my correct band size, because I always make sure to get the tight band size so it won't ride up...so that's not the issue... I don't know what is......... So it's getting returned today and exchanged for some other bras from HerRoom... Cross my fingers I find a good one.... I have such a hard time finding a bra that fits me well, gives support and is comfortable....
Goddess Response:
This style is one of our fullest coverage bras –so it will go up quite high under the arm –and the band is designed for ultimate support. You could try going down a cup size, for a less-covered feel. We offer other soft cup bras in Goddess which are medium coverage and they are pared down a bit, but these bras only go to an H-cup. Of course we’ll have more options in our under-wire styles: Usually an under-wire bra won’t need as much cup and band coverage to give the desired support, because the under-wire is helping out. If you are willing to try an under-wire bra, you might try Goddess Bra Keira 6090
which goes to an L-cup, or Goddess Rose 6080, which goes to a K-cup.

This item is comfortable but the fit is less than great. I expected more from a Goddess product. I have most of the Goddess line since they are one of the few manufacturers that carry my size, however this item fell a little short of the mark. The straps and band are comfortable but the cup fit is too pointy and runs small.
Goddess Response: If the cups are too small to encompass all of the breast tissue, the look can be ‘pointy’ so all you need to do is go up a cup size to 40J. Sometimes if you go down a band size, and up a cup size, it can do away with that pointy look, and give a more “custom” fit. You could try a 38K.

Great bra, keeps 'em up and out front. I love the way the support is firm, but the bra is not rigid; very comfortable. It is old-school, so they are kinda pointed, but that definitely beats the new choice of some gals to get the minimizers that bind and squish the girls so tight that it is tiny little speed bump on the chest. So all in all, if you like balance and the hourglass effect, buy it!

I love this bra! Actually gives me some support and definition which is hard to find in my size when you can't wear underwires because of the way I'm built. ( dig in horribly!) For the same reason, I do have to add that I had to remove side boning, but after that it was very comfortable. It's also quite pretty and feminine. Does run small compared to old style Goddess. check fit charts for new styles.

As another reviewer indicated, this bra is not sized properly. Other Goddess models fit me flawlessly, but this one was much too small (probably 2 sizes) in both the cup and the circumference. I laid it out next to another brand new bra of the same size and saw a sizable visible difference. Returned for another size; unfortunately they only go up so high. Shame, because the bra itself looks absolutely lovely in the black lace.
HerRoom Response: Thank you for your feedback. Actually, when comparing bras as you did, you can really only do this if both bras are the same style from the same manufacturer. Bra manufacaturers take into consideration the different stretches of fabric when creating their patterns. So, unless the exact same fabric is used, there will be differences in the length of bra wings.
Goddess Response:
Most “Classic Goddess” styles do fit a bit more generous in the cup than “New Goddess” styles, but most “New Goddess” styles are more generous in the band than the Classics. the Goddess6040 is sized according to the “New Goddess” fit which we are using for all new styles launched since Jan 2007. Try Goddess style 110
from the Classic Goddess group, as this offers the size you need. If you like underwired bras, try Goddess 6090
which goes up to an L in New Goddess sizing, and gives great support and shaping.

This bra is not sized like the other Goddess bras I have ordered. It (and the "Rose" bra 6083) has cups that run at least 2 sizes smaller than the Goddess 304 and 110.
Also, the band runs large or something, because it's riding up like crazy in the back.
The straps seem great - comfortable and they adjust to be short enough (I'm under 5'1"). The whole bra is incredibly comfortable. I really wish it came in a 34. I might try a 36 and see if the band riding up is actually a problem.
