The Freya sports bras offer the best support I have ever had in any bra. I have been wearing them for years and this particular style I extremely comfortable. I recommend Freya bras to everyone. Carol J from HOLDEN, Missouri. USA

I would normally rate Freya products with 5 stars however, as excited as I was to find something that I though would fit, it didn’t sit correctly I’m guessing because of my shape and size. I have had many bras by Freya that have been perfect. Carol from NY

I love this bra. It fits firm, the way I like. My girls are supported and held in. It is a sports bra but if I ran I would giggle. I am using as an outdoor play bra. This bra has good support and the back doesn't ride up. Carol from Georgia

I have a pain in R side thoracic area that is still here over a week from wearing this bra.

HerRoom Response: We are sorry for your experience. However, your thoracic cavity is where your organs are housed and is surrounded by your skeletal frame. A bra should not impact only one side. But again, we are sorry for your pain. Paula from Manzanita

Comfortable. Breathable. Fun color options. Minus points for 80s roadcone bosom shape and furthermore while I like it and won’t be returning it I’m keeping it as a medium impact bra. It does not keep large chest from bouncing during spin class like my jubralee bras so I wouldn’t call this a high impact bra because too much movement. Courtney from United States

Step from Puerto Rico

I love this bra and have now purchased two. It is very supportive and comfortable. I wear it to work. My breasts are wide spaced and the cups bring them forward so I look better in T shirts and sweaters. In my case, the "pointy" shape of the bra helps me. Carol from Pasadena

Best hoist support bra and most adjustable shoulder straps-many straps don't have enough shortening ability to lift high enough to support or adjust a tad after the first few wearings for me. If the back hooks were a bit more covered/padded after fastening so the bottom one wouldn't dig in as much, would be able to wear the bra all day without a red rub mark and it would get 5 stars. D

This Item never fit as it was too small compared to my regular size. You might want to go up a size or two in this bra.

Freya Response: If you are searching for a high impact sports bra, then we suggest trying the Energise Underwire Sports Bra (EL8041) from our sister brand, Elomi. Energise accommodates very full breasts with a unique non-compression design, and features moisture wicking performance fabric. dee from Sebring, FL

Like many bras in this size range, the manufacturer has produced a globally enlarged version of the smaller sizes. This approach has no basis in reality. Just because larger cups are needed does not mean that the woman has broad shoulders to match, or is 6 feet tall. The bottom of the underwire goes halfway to my navel and the straps are too wide set.

Freya Response: If you have a petite frame and a large cup then we suggest trying the Energise Underwire Sports Bra (EL8041) from our sister brand, Elomi. Elomi bras are designed specifically to work with your curves! Energise features a four part cup with side support and a unique non-compression design. This Elomi bra was also designed with back straps that are moved in slightly to prevent slippage. Juanita from Appalachia NC USA

Great support and comfort. Not great in the looks department, but seems like the only bras that support are ugly. Like other reviewers stated, this gives you a pointy look under t-shirts that isn't my favorite look, but if you're looking for support and don't care about that, this is it. Venesa from TN

This bra is fabulously made, in that it is sturdy and holds everything in place. The underwire in the cleavage area sticks out and pokes into your clothing, which is something I just can't deal with in a bra. It's a shame, because it is hard to find bras that are that supportive.

Freya Response: We would recommend trying Energise EL8041 in our sister brand Elomi. Energise provides more coverage and containment than Freya Core. Theresa from Palmyra, PA USA

Excellent. It is so hard to find an actually secure bra of any kind, much less a sports bra, at this size. But this one works! I feel secure, and while it's a touch constricting, it's not nearly as bad as your average sports bra/torture device. Annie

Freya sports bras have ZERO BOUNCE CONTROL! It is no more support than wearing a normal underwire bra. I wear a 28HH in Freya, Curvy Kate and Panache. But all three of these companies sports bras SUCK in 28HH! What works for me is layering 2 bra styles from Shock Absorber the Multi-sport in 30HH and the Run Bra in 32G. That is my holy grail no bounce run 4+ hour sports bra combination!

Freya Response: If you are normally a 28HH in regular bras your sister size would be a 30H. Being in a cup size too big could be what is causing the bounce. We would also recommend trying Epic AA4004 in a 30H many of our customers believe it provides more stable support than Core. Martha from Dallas, TX

Some reviews indicated that this bra produces pointy result, but I took a chance and bought it. The cups and band are just right for me, lots of uplift for my age, and comfortable, the fabric is less stretchy if you prefer stretchier fabric, this bra might be too stiff for you. As to the shape of the cups, I guess I have much to fill them, so they aren't as pointy as some others said. audrey from Manhattan/KS/USA

Was really looking forward to a sport bra in my size. But, unfortunately, this bra didn't work for me. My normal size is a 34HH, but knowing sports bras run small I ordered up a size to 34J. Was too small so I returned & ordered 34K. That was too small too. Liked the 5 hooks, & was comfortable, wish the cups had fit.

HerRoom Response: We suggest trying a 36J in this bra because the bra is high impact the band might be running a little tighter than a usual bra. Kim from California

The underwire popped out in less than a month. I hand wash and line dry. No support when I exercise

Freya Response: We’re sorry this bra didn’t work for you. If you felt like it wasn’t supportive enough we recommend going down a band and up in the cup. It is also very important to rotate your bras, even sports bras. Your bras need at least a day to rest to help them last longer. Jacqueline from 11412

I have been wearing the same Freya sports bra for about 5 years. Yes, it held up that long and was used 4-5 times per week (with time off for holidays). It was time to put it out of its misery and replace it as one of the hooks had begun stabbing me in the back. This new Freya is just as sturdy and makes my 32J's stay put, look smaller and I almost (ha!) forget they are there. KW from Santa Monica, CA

For years, I have been searching for a sports bra that actually fits and gives the support needed....and my search is finally over!! I love this bra. The cup is soft so it doesn't itch when moving and the band is snug enough that it doesn't ride up when exercising. Jan from Coos Bay, OR

Finally, after years of searching for a sports bra that actually fits a woman with 'big boobs".....my search is over!!! This bra keeps the girls where they should be & the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because the wires in the front come up a bit too high. Jan from Coos Bay, OR

The band is accurate, but the cups are a size big. As I cannot go down a band size from 28E as recommended, I should've just gone down the cup size. This does keep you in place if you have the right size, but pushes down like a compression sports bra and separates the ladies a little too far. It looks very weird, and would do it if I had the right size as well. Not what I expected. Will try a different sports bra.

Freya Response: We suggest trying Sonic AA4892 because of the spacer foam cups which has no compression. Shannon from 29450

This may be the greatest bra ever. I ride horses and my horse creates a lot of bounce. This bra reduces that and fits better than any I've ever worn. It stops the "side spillage" and is wide enough in the back to stay put plus it looks like a "normal" bra under clothes. Ordering more colors now. Michelle from Lexington KY USA

The seams were very thick - too thick. The strap didn't fit the same as my other 38HH - was too small.

HerRoom Response: Sometimes sport bras run a little snug. We suggest going up a band a down a cup if you feel your normal size is too small. We also suggest trying to the seamless Freya sport bra AA4892. abradford from Lehi / Utah/ United States

No different than all underwire bras as far as comfort goes. I will say it is nice to have a cup that fits. I'm frustrated at the lack of longline bras made with stretchy supportive material and no underwire I hate having to pay so much for a bra for tightness over my liver that I get most the time. I love the shoulder straps and the back strap they are thick and I feel secure. The only thing I don't like about the bra is the underwire. Normally I like underwire but being a naturally large breasted woman the underwire sticks out of your shirt in the middle of your breasts. I think the wire is meant to press against your breast bone to separate your breasts but this is not the case especially if your large breasted. Also the fabric underneath the breast that is around the underwire tends to pulled behind the wire

HerRoom Response: We love that you love this bra (we do too)! This bra is actually supposed to sit against your chest and separate your breasts, so we suggest going up a cup to help resolve this. Arla from Pismo Beach, California, US.

The underwire popped out within less than a week. I have had this bra before and they have been great.

Freya Response: We pride ourselves on the consistent excellent quality of our products. Perhaps the stitching at the mouth of the wire-channel wasn't strong enough in this one…And of course please don't dry your bras in the dryer. This beats up your bras very quickly. Always air dry to preserve the life of your bra. Steph from PA USA

Overall not a bad bra. The cup size seems to be a little small. I need very firm support as my breasts have fallen and can't get up without help. I have been wearing this bra to work and it does ok. But as with most bras it has elastic in the straps and I stretch elastic straps out. I keep hoping I will find a bra that will hold them up like they should be so I keep trying different styles and brands. JoAnn from Elk City, Ok

Not at all true to size. I ordered based on the size chart and the gore stuck out so far it was visible under any shirt I tried to wear. Since I could never really wear it, I can't attest to its comfort or wearability.

Freya Response: The center gore sticking out is an indication that the cup might be too small. This Freya Sports bra is constructed with a firm double fabric for maximum support - no stretch in the cups. Freya sports bras are limited in their extended cup sizes but our sister brand Elomi would be the perfect alternative! Elomi Energize EL8041 UW Sports Bra has a unique non-compression design offering bust separation, shaping and the ultimate in support. Elomi Brand is designed for the fuller busted gal, I would stick with 38H. Emma from Oregon

The underwire was so high in my underarms, that I knew I would not wear it for working out. If you have a short torso, and usually have a problem with underwire ending high on your ribs (into your underarms), then this isn't the sports bra for you. Ashley Scholes from Canal Winchester, OH, USA

I've bought this particular sports bra in the past. Seems to be the best fit for my large chest. When I started working out I was about a 38K, I've since lost some weight and ordered a smaller cup size. Still fits well, they hold them in place fairly well. I walk, jog, kayak, hike & do barre class in this sports bra. Comfortable and they seem to last fairly well for the amount of use I get out of them. Sarah from Atlanta, GA

It took me forever to find a bra that worked for me for soccer. ..most high impact bras for a 34H do very little not only to keep the bounce under control but also having 2 distinct breasts (uniboob is so 1990). Although I had an online chat with a specialist the bra was still way too small in the cups. I even used the size chart and went with the size it recommended but still too small. I re-ordered it in a larger size over the phone and that sales person told me that those bras run a little small. I wish I had known that the first time. I had high hopes for this bra- it is great at holding everything firmly in place. The cup size feels right and the band size feels right. BUT the placement of the straps or the height of the side panels is literally cutting off the circulation in my arms. It is actually very painful for me to wear this bra. Then when I try to hook the should straps together to make it more like a razor back bra, it's even worse- the seam is cutting into a tendon or muscle or something. Kate from Pittsburgh, PA USA

The cups are slightly smaller than a standard bra, but perhaps that's by design as to help hold you in. The bra is very comfortable, and provides separation that I have NEVER gotten with other sports bras. So it provides a more natural shape, rather than 'uniboob'! Nelda from Texas

I have to wear an undershirt or tank top over my bra. When the weather is warmer I don't want to wear more layers. I also like that I can run in them comfortably. II really like how it does not use the uni-boob solution, since that just creates more sweat in between the girls while you work out. I've heard complaints about the stiffness of the band and the seams on the cups. From everything I have read lately, seamed construction is more supportive. Plus, you don't really want the band to give while running, because that is holding most of the weight. This has been the most supportive sports bra I have ever owned. I currently run 5K's with it, so you know it is more than just a yoga bra ;). Ann from AZ

This bra is a bit tighter than others in the Freya line that I wear. That said, it is a sports bra and it does it's job very well. In high impact sports or gymnastic moves like running and handstands I have not had any concerns about the girls moving around. It is a full coverage bra so be aware that you can't wear a low cut shirt without it showing. I also think that the cups are a bit smaller than the regular Freya cup sizes. The only thing I would change is that there is a big seam that runs right across the front of the cups and it shows through my work out shirts. Other than that it is a great bra. I typically wear a Wacoal 32DDD bra, but given suggestions of a looser band in Freya, I tried a 30F. The band on the last hook was comfortable for trying on but I would probably need to tighten it if used for exercise. The cups fit oddly. There was extra fabric around the seem, but "spill over" at the top. I am probably the wrong shape for this cup style. The center gore also goes up fairly high and was not flesh with my ribs. Overall, I the style of the bra may not be ideal for everyone.

Freya Response: PK, we’re sorry that your cut-and-sewn Freya sports bra wasn’t right for you. You’re correct in asserting that not all bras are suitable for all bust types. We recommend Freya Active Underwire Molded Spacer Sports Bra AA4892 in a breathable spacer-fabric moulded cup which will give you a smoother silhouette than the puckering cups you experienced with AA4002. Seems like a well - made bra, but fit was inaccurate, tried using all fitting techniques but ended up with too small around and cups too large. Have decided to reorder but a different style and different size after going through fitting explanations again.

Freya Response: Julie, this sports bra is firmer in the band than our everyday styles to provide more structure during high-impact activities. This occasionally requires some compensation when choosing sizes. We’re confident that you’ll love your Freya sports bra in the proper size! Julie from Kamloops, BC Canada

Not the most comfortable bra that I have purchased. I thought it was because it was new and needed breaking in but by the end of the work day I ready for it to come off.

Freya Response: Tonya, it may be that this bra needs to break in a little farther before it reaches its ideal fit. It wasn’t mentioned how long you had been wearing the bra – we find it usually takes 3 or 4 wears before any of our bras are most comfortable. This sports bra also features a firmer band and firmer straps, meaning the bra will fit and feel more snug in the areas. We hope you continue to try Freya and continue to wear your new sports bra, as it’s one of our favorites in our wardrobe. Thanks! Tonya from USA

It's my first time ordering a Freya anything, so while I have exchanged, I am waiting to give a better review. I wear 34JJ/K in Panache and I ordered the 36J based on the reviews. I found the back to be too large and the cup too small, but the smallness of the cup is probably because I'm closer to a K at the moment. my initial feelings are that this will be a good sports bra in the right size. but if you wear 34 in panache, I would recommend staying with that back size and your most realistic cup size. The shape is not the best but for a sports bra it's pretty good and i didn't feel smashed, just pointy.

Freya Response: Cassie, as Freya and Panache are both companies that utilize UK sizing, we recommend starting with the size you usually wear in one brand when ordering the other. Our cut-and-sewn sports bra does give a projected silhouette, however these seams provide the structure needed to offer maximum support during high-impact activities. We hope you enjoy the feel of this bra, as you noted that you didn’t feel “smashed”. We call this “encapsulation” fit - meaning the breast tissue is fully captured and supported by the bra - versus “compression” fit, where the bra compresses tightly against the body to reduce bounce. We think you will find the encapsulation fit healthier and more comfortable during your workouts. Thanks! Cassie from USA

I wrote a review of this about six weeks ago. I wanted to add that since then, I've lost some weight. The cups pucker--I've probably gone down an entire size. HOWEVER, the bra STILL works just as well. I have run up to eight miles in it with almost no bounce. I barely feel the bra--or my boobs!--whatsoever. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is starting a weight loss journey. I wasn't, but the fact that I don't feel immediately compelled to replace this bra (as I do my Freya decos...) is awesome. Breast sizes change so quickly when you lose weight and these bras are expensive--but you should know that once you buy this one, it'll last with you for a while. :) Rachel from Seattle

A really nice supportive bra that certainly does the job it's advertised to do. It is a lot of bra and not for the very slender built or a lady with a short-torso. A word of caution, which I did not take and wish I had, order this bra in your regular cup size but BE SURE to go up one size in the band. This is a must; otherwise, you will be uncomfortable at first, and your ribs will feel pressure. As good if not better than all my Wacoal bras. Comfortable straps that DO NOT dig, a substantial and sturdy bra. It's not exactly the workout bra of my dreams but I wholeheartedly recommend it, and I will definitely order again. I didn't give it a 5 because the band sizing should be made true to size as all other 34 bands are and fall in line with your measuring specifications. Her Room is such a great place to job with a huge selection in sizes and price points, and customer service is outstanding. Colleen from Tustin Ranch, CA

This was my first online $50+ bra purchase, and since then I've bought a swimsuit (also reviewed on here!) (Freya Pier Underwire Halter) and two Freya decos. I am so happy I bought this bra. I never considered doing any form of high-impact exercise before purchasing it, and now I've been running about 10-15 miles per week. It is the only bra to ever hold everything in place and after I run, I don't feel like I've added three years worth of sag to my breasts! My only issue (and this is my fault) is that I ordered the nude one, and it is pretty ugly. I would like to run without my shirt off at some point, but not in my ugly nude bra :(. Do note: it's tight! My swimsuit is a 30DD, and my Deco bras are 30E. I've worn a 28F before as well. As a 32DD, this bra is by far my "largest," and I do have to use the second hook. It is, however, my best fitting bra as well! Rachel from Seattle

I liked this bra. it was fairly comfortable, and it definitely held everything in place. I think I may have gotten too small of a cup size. Because I am still growing, my size gets larger periodically. the fabric part in between of my breasts did not sit on my skin, so I guess I need a bigger cup size. The bra was great overall though!! I think this is a great bra. It keeps everything in place and reasonably stable, although any bra has some bounce. It breathes well. It still feels somewhat tight on me after a few months of use, but it's certainly not uncomfortable. If you're worried about how a sports bra with underwire will feel, don't be! If you're big breasted, you'll probably be more comfortable in the end. I learned the importance of sports bras the hard way. When I think back on how many years I played soccer wearing what was little more than a piece of spandex, I can't help but cringe and wonder if I caused permanent damage! If you're reluctant to try something more supportive, don't be. You'll thank yourself later! Amelia from United States

I ordered the size that corresponded with my US size. The cup is too small though. Normally I would return it, but since I am just finishing up nursing I think I will go down enough to fit this perfectly. I would recommend going up at least 1 cup size. This seems to fit well otherwise. Not as full coverage as I prefer, but seems very comfortable and supportive for exercising. Not recommended for super vigorous activity (like plyometrics).

Hated the bra, there is a seam in the middle of the cup so you can not wear any kind of a leotard or tight top, the seam shows through and looks terrible. I returned it.

Freya Response: Patti, we include seaming in this bra to increase the support offered for high impact activities, but we do find it unfortunate that this was not appropriate for your lifestyle. I am very disappointed with this bra. I put it on and my daughter immediately and correctly informed me that I have "double boobs." The cups seem to sit in a odd, rigid angle which does not allow for adjusting the cup to fit around the boob. It is as if there is not enough cup but there is. Just a weird fit.

Freya Response: Donna, stay tuned for a new Freya Active sports bra that will feature a seamless cup and also an underwire. The firm fabrication in the sports bra you ordered offers increased support, but appears to be the wrong shape for you. We hope you will continue to try Freya Active in the future. Thanks! I have a very difficult bust line, one breast ebing larger than the other also very droopy!! I found this brand of Bra. Freya when I went shopping in New York City, my friend told me I needed something to make my clothes look right. This was the second bra I tried on. I absolutely feel a different person wearing them, I now wear only this brand.and look quite good. Mollie from Shelter Island NY

I'm disappointed this bra didn't work for me. The fabric is nice; like wearing a t-shirt. It seems like it would be supportive, but on me, the underwire points out forward causing 2 pointy spots from under my shirt. I didn't keep the bra.

Freya Response: Nicole, is it possible that the cup size was too small on the bra? If the bra wasn’t “tacking” against your chest wall in the center (the underwires resting against your body versus bowing outward, which is a common sign of a bra that is too small), then they could be forced outward in other places. Freya also makes a number of non-wire sports bras, several of which feature the same supportive frame and seaming as the sports bra you ordered, with an extra firm band under the breasts substituted for the underwire. We hope you can find a sports bra in our range that suits you, and stay tuned for more exciting underwire sports bras in the near future from Freya! Nicole from Woodbridge, VA

I ordered one in beige/nude, and two others in white. The most supportive bras I have ever owned. I prefer my bras to be on the tighter side, as I have large breasts and need firm control. Upon arrival of one beige and one white bra in the mail, I could barely close the clasps and my breasts were very well supported with the 4 hooks and firm band. The second shipment included another white bra with a differently colored label, although it has the same material, stitching, and style: this bra arrived with more “give” to it and I was able to put it on the second or third row of hooks immediately, which was both baffling and disappointing. [I’m sure if I had requested an exchange or made a complaint it would have been dealt with promptly, as the customer service department was great at adjusting my initial order.] I have hand-washed them all for several weeks and hung them to air dry, and last wash placed them in a delicates bag on the knits cycle to wash with Woolite. Thus far, they have been holding up nicely and are still quite supportive. However, I am already able to fit them on the second row of hooks after only a month and am not an active person - this is why they received 4 stars instead of 5. Sometimes they’re a bit itchy, but I have very sensitive skin and that may simply be me. Nevertheless, this isn’t a bra you could find in a department store, and is well worth the money I spent. Because of my majorly positive experience, I will be ordering my bras from this site regularly. Stephanie from Mount Bethel/PA/United States

I'm not crazy about the seam placement across the cup, but the bra has good support and I decided to keep it. Maybe I just prefer seamless cups.

Freya Response: We know the horizontal seam will give you the best support and shaping while active, especially during high impact workouts. Try layering over the bra to minimize the appearance of the seam. We’re so glad you like it! Susan from Rhode Island

Bra fits true to size. Gives a very nice profile. Fits and looks like an every-day bra but the"gals" stay put when you're moving and jumping. I bought the same size as my every-day bra and actually, could put it on the middle hooks, but was always taught to start on the last hooks so that when the bra is worn-in, you have room to tighten. I prefer the shaped band below the cups. A nice feature. I am considering purchasing other Freya bras because of the nice profile. Zumba Gal from Brooklyn, NY

I need a larger cup size in the style than recommended by the universal sizing chart. It's does not offer extreme support...there is more movement when jumping/jogging than I would like. The comfort is OK for an underwire, and the fabric is very nice and soft. It's best for low-impact aerobic activity. The construction in front and next to the rib cage is too beefy for comfortable yoga positioning when the torso is curling inward.

Freya Response: Even the best bra in the world can’t do the job it’s designed to do if it’s in an incorrect size. If the cups are too small, the bra won’t be able to perform the way it should. The correct size is absolutely crucial in a sports bra since the expected performance level in a sports bra is even higher than in other bras. It seems you’re not experiencing the “extreme” support this bra can offer: You could go up in the cup in this style to a 38D8, or you might want to try our active bra in our sister brand Elomi, Energise Underwire Sports Bra EL8040. This style has a unique construction where the upper cup contains the top of the breast tissue for even more motion control and stability. This ultra-supportive bra is offered to a J-cup. I’m sure you’ll find the perfect fit for you. aryan from texas

I have this in black and nude. The black fits ok, a little tight after washing. The tan is WAY too tight. I don't dry it and then stretch it, hooked, around a chair, and it's still too tight. The material is so tough/rigid that, with either one, if I run for more than 30 minutes, I get a painful horizontal line from chafing under my bra.

Freya Response: This is the first time we’ve heard this type of feedback about this style. Are you certain you received the same size in both items? It’s not unusual to have a slight variance in fit in different colors, but the size difference you describe is too much. The fabrication in our Active bras is non-stretch to minimize all bounce and protect the ligaments and breast tissue while you exercise. The bra should support, not chafe. I find that rinsing my sports bras in fabric softener helps to make the material pliable, and more comfy. Thanks so much for taking the time to contact us, we’ll be sure to pass your comments on to our design team. Megan from Boston MA

I decided to wing it and go with my normal size. I am glad I did. It is a super snug bra with excellent support. The girls do.not.move. They're lifted and tight to my body. I do find the cup to be a tad small, so it takes some fussing and positioning to get the girls in the cups right, and to get the underwires to lay flat against my breastbone, but when I get it right, it's so worth it. Great bra. I wear it for everyday, not for sport. kjo from virginia

I just bought this bra in every color & I absolutely love it! It feels comfortable enough for all day wear; sports bras are my daily go-to bras. It's not as high on the chest as other sports bras, like Wacoal, so it's perfect even under tight-fitting low-cut shirts. After getting professionally fitted at a specialty store, I was told I needed a smaller band size and larger cup size (32F). They recommended the Freya brand, which is known for its complete selection of all sizes not to be found elsewhere. I love this comfortable sports bra, which I wear for everyday activities as well as at the gym. It doesn't flatten the breasts to completely eliminate bouncing, so wouldn't recommend it for extreme running/jogging. Jessica from Tacoma, WA, USA

This sports bra is very comfortable as sports bras go. It is also quite supportive. The material is soft and non-irritating. Its been a couple of months now since I had my breasts done, I think I may have needed to go up one cup size because the center gore is not quite resting on my breast bone. It has been very hard to figure out my actual size but this has been the most comfortable bra so far. :) Jenny from Redding, ca., USA

I ordered a 34D. When i tried it on it was obvious the cup size was way too small - the tops of my boobs popped out of the bra, and middle of the bra did not lie on my skin because everything else got in the way. The band size MAY have been to small but it may have also been because the cup size was too small and everything else was getting in the way. Sad that this bra did not work out - it looked really nice.

Freya Response: Trish, as you know all brands fit differently depending on style and fabrication, so it’s important to be flexible about your size. Your size will vary depending on the manufacturer. It sounds very much as if the cups are too small for you in this style. Fortunately Freya 4002 goes up to an H-cup, so it’s easy to go up in the cups as much as you need to. Please refer to Tomima’s 3 Steps to a Fabulous Fit for guidance. Trish from Denver

this is the best sports bra I have ever bought. this one and the freya style 4392 - which is a similar style. it's like wearing armor - there's no sag or bounce and I can run or dance for hours without discomfort. the best thing about these is that under clothing they look like a regular bra - good separation - and lift. so you can wear them with your t shirt or dress clothes and go work out without changing your bra. perfect! I would say they are pretty true to size. there is no stretch in the cup - so if you are in between cups go up in the cup and down in the band. pb from honolulu hawaii

The Freya 4002 is a close second to the Elomi sports bra, but definitely not as comfortable, fabric is not as nice, "bounce reduction" is not as good.... But a good 2nd choice to the Elomi sports bra which does not come in a 32 DD. ks from Reston, VA

I LOVE this bra!!! I haven't been able to run comfortably since I was 13. So half my life I felt pain if I tried to run, which is terrible since I want to get fit and know that running is a great way to do it (especially if you have dogs like me). Once I tried this bra on and attempted to run, I was in love. Even with big girls like me, there is zero pain. Less bounce than in the video. I cannot say enough. I LOVE THIS BRA!!! Already I've gone down two cup sizes thanks to being able to run again! Rachel from Provo, UT

Having a large chest makes it difficult to find a regular bra that fits well, much less a sports bra. I was very pleasantly surprised - this sports bra not only fit well, it prevented almost all bouncing, enabling me to get a great workout without being uncomfortable or worrying about how I would look. I teach exercise classes, so this is very important. I will definitely order more. Anne from California

I now have six of these between 30E and 28F, as I am between band sizes. I have figured out how to deal with the pointiness as much as possible, so I thought I would share it with you all. 1. Wash your bra in warm water. You can either stick it in the machine in a bra bag, or just let it soak in a bucket of warm water. The warmer water helps soften the material much faster. 2. Let the bra hang dry. 3. When it's just *almost* dry, wear it around the house on a snug setting. It will dry very quickly with your body heat while you're wearing it and help speed up the molding process. After doing this once or twice, the bra should more or less conform to your shape. It will always be slightly pointy, but not enough to really matter. The seam will flatten a bit, too, but never really go away. Don't get scared when you try this bra on the first time. It looks really terrible right out of the package, but it won't look like that after round or two of wash and wear. HappyGirl from California

I bought this looking for a good under wire support sports bra in a natural color. I will be heading out for military basic training in just over a month and I need something like this. I have a very small and round rib cage and wide, but slightly flatter cup. I bought a 30E and a 30F, just in case. I appear to be between these two sizes. The F cup was wider, and slightly more comfortable, especially on the elastic that comes on top of the breast. I have both pec muscle and breast tissue there so I like to not have anything pushing down on or cutting into it. However, it was a little pointier on me. I like that it had four hooks in the back, though. The 30E was tighter and so not as pointy. It's a little less comfortable due to said elastic on top of the breast, but I expect to lose a little weight soon due to training so I thought the larger size would be too loose in a couple of months. The band and wire cup size fit great on both sizes. I jumped around a bit and wore it for the day. It seems to fit well and keeps me from bouncing, although I have yet to take it for a run. The under wire design is good for everything but grappling, so I'm overall pretty happy with it. I wish the material was a little less scratchy and the straps were crossed. Pros: Generously wide under wire. Nice comfortable straps. Nude/plain colors available. No uniboob. Very supportive. Comes in small band/large cup sizes! Cons: Leotard back (sports bras are infinitely more functional in a cross back design). Cup is slightly pointy. Seam shows through clothing. Expensive for people who work out often enough to need many bras. Material is slightly scratchy. To Freya Designers: Get smart about the cross strap design. This allows a bra to move with you, be comfortable across your back, and never need adjusting. Make the material a little softer/smoother (and get rid of that inner tag that will cause chafing). Find a way to flatten that seam. If you could fix those things, I would call this bra perfect, give it five stars, and recommend it to everyone and their mother (and my own mother). That would make it truly worth the price of the bra. I really wanted the corresponding active shorts in nude, but they appear to be discontinued. Neon colors not only are not my taste but are not permitted in the military, so no go on the new line of grey with neon green or red. HappyGirl from California

This bra was too difficult for me to get on and off!

Freya Response: I don’t know what your routine is for putting your bras on and taking them off, but if like most of us you have to fasten your bra in the front, and then somehow twist it around your body, this fabulous tip might help: First put on a slip, or a foundation garment –whatever you happen to have around –and bring it right up under your breasts. Now fasten the bra over the fabric, and slide it around your torso. Since there’s no drag of the bra on the skin, it will move easily into place. When the bra is in the right position, simply pull the slip or foundation garment out from under it, and presto, you’re in the bra! This will help to ensure you can actually get into the correct band size (which can be smaller than you might think.) Lisa from Charleston, TN USA

I ordered the eurpoean size 36 FF for my American 36 H as instructed but when the item arrived it was too small in the cup. When I looked at the size the tag indicated that the size was Eurpean 36 FF but listed American size as 36 FF too. Then I was completely confused and sent the item back. I will just continue to wear two poor sports bras. I don't want to have to keep dragging my 2 kids out to the p.o. to return.

Freya Response: To simplify the sizing issue, we’re tagging UK sizing only in our UK brands (Elomi, Fantasie, Fauve and Freya). The tag will indicate that the U.S. size is the same as the UK size. We found when we listed UK, U.S. and French sizing on the same tag, many customers didn’t know where to look and got even more confused. This way no matter where you look on the tag the size will be the same (in your case a 36FF). If the bra is a UK brand, it will be UK-sized. Freya is designed to provide a “custom fit”. If you’re accustomed to wearing a more forgiving, stretchier bra, you’ll most likely need to go up an extra cup size in the Freya brand. Happily this bra goes up to an H-cup so you can definitely find your perfect fit. We hate to think of you having to wear ‘two poor sports bras’ so please don’t get frustrated with the process of finding the right size. I know it’s challenging, but oh-so-worth-it when you’ve found it (just finding that right number really will change your life)! Amanda from Missouri

I have owned this bra for a few few years now and heartily endorse it for any active, busty woman. Yes the bra is tight and the seams show through my under armor, but my breasts stay put through dancing, running, skiing and everything else I've worn this for. Yes the shape is a bit pointy, but my chest no longer gets in the way while rowing. As a bra used exclusively for sports and almost daily, it has held up very well and I will buy another when this one wears out. Elizabeth from Jersey City, NJ

If you are bigger busted and want to feel like you did when you were a kid running around, not worrying about your bust bouncing all around, then this is the bra to buy. I researched many other bras and this one lived up to my expectations. As a side note, if you LIKE the "uni-boob" like I do in a sports bra simply where a razor back over top and you're set. It took moderate trial and error until I settled on a size, but once I got it right I fell in love. I found the band size to run a little loose (normal for street wear, but not the extra snug fit needed for stability in high-impact sports) and the cup size to run a little small - I'm normally a 30D, but I wound up with a 28E in this bra. I do high impact dance aerobics with lots of jumping, so I need major bounce control and this bra does the job. Going a size smaller in the band and getting the correspondingly larger cup gave me the stability I need. The construction seems sturdy, the straps seem strong with good padding on the shoulder, and the cups have great encapsulation and compression. The fact that this bra gives great lift and actually makes my breasts look fantastic made me decide to buy another one in a 30DD (my regular band size) for everyday wear. It's the only sports bra I've ever found in my small band size that offers the serious support large-breasted women need without the usual drawbacks of unibreast syndrome and bulky construction (velcro flaps, etc.). Since I haven't had this bra very long, I can't attest to its durability, but it seems well-constructed and I think it should stand the test of wear and tear. I'm very happy to have found this bra and highly recommend it. VC from NC

My breasts are pushed out to under my armpits. Customer service suggested the Freya 4392, but the band under the armpit looks very high. (I'm 5' and small torso.)

Fryea Response: If the back edge of the cup is cutting into the armpit, you should go down a cup size. Sometimes it’s better to compromise on the “tacking” and coverage factor, than to have to cope with the cup digging into the underarm. Deb from NYC

A very supportive bra with lift, separation and compression. Makes my cup size look smaller than it is, which I welcome. I use it for playing tennis and only the balls bounce! The hardware on one strap cuts into my shoulder and is mildly uncomfortable, but I tried adjusting and it is a little better. Seams in the cup do show through the DryFit fabric of my body contouring tennis outfit. Overall, I am happy with the bra. Sally from New York

I was surprised by how well this bra fit me. In some other reviews it was noted that it ran small. I took a chance in ordering my usual size and I am delighted to FINALLY get support I've been requiring. My only issue is the center seam on the cup. But I suspect it is needed for cup construction to provide support for a full bosom. It isn't itchy or anything, it's simply an aesthetic thing under t-shirts. It does the job! Now, I can finally work out to full capacity without worry. Marissa from Aroma Park

I spent a lot of time looking for a new sports bra before buying this one. This bra by Freya offers quite a bit of support, however, after a few weeks of using it, I haven't found it very comfortable. I have worn it lifting weights, in step aerobics class, yoga, and while using the elliptical trainer. The high coverage by the shoulders and above the breasts restricts my range of motion while doing yoga and lifting weights so that the material digs into my arms. I have adjusted the shoulder straps and the band, have washed it a couple times, but I've decided it's not the best bra for me. Samantha from Ames, IA, USA

This bra gives me extreme support and makes me feel at least 2 cup sizes smaller. With that said, be warned that it's a tight fit and takes some time getting used to. The Freya Underwire Sports bra does give a significant amount of support, however the seam in the middle of the cup is unsightly under a t shirt and the fabric and tags are very itchy. It is however the best sports bra I have found for the purpose of support, and therefore I continue to wear it in hopes that it will be more comfortable after a few more washes.

Freya Response: This sports bra is designed to give the ultimate support, and seaming is one of the most effective ways to provide shaping and support. The more you wash and wear the bra, the more it will conform to the body and the softer and more comfy it will get. Also a bit of fabric softener in the final rinse water will help to soften things up as well. Gina from Florida

Love it. This bra actually supports the girls when I run or jump around in exercise classes. With my old sports bras, my breasts were frequently sore but that's never happens now. The bra also keeps me cool since it separates the breasts from each other. The only downsides are that the bra makes my breasts a little pointy and doesn't seem to provide any size minimization. This bra did not work for me. I called customer service just to make sure I was ordering the correct size. I normally wear a 34G, they recommended the 34F. The cups were way way too small although the band size was perfect. I also ordered the Donna Karan sports bra in 34G. It was perfect.

Freya Response: Happy the DK worked for you –it runs a bit fuller and the cups are stretchier than the 4002. If you still want to try 4002, I would recommend that you try the FF- or G-cup. 4002 provides a very specific fit, with non-stretch cups to ensure complete “motion control” with no bounce. cups way too small, not like other brands dd's

Freya Response: We normally find customers may need to go up a band size; but overall the cups fit true to size. It is a sport bra that has a bit of a more “controlled” fit (but not a uni-boob look in which the breast are flatten) - Betty

I’d add that compared to other sports bras which can have stretchier cups and tend to flatten the breast tissue, this4002 style is more of a specific “custom” fit, so it’s absolutely vital to be in the correct size. - Freddy ania from Frisco

I really like this bra. It doesn't give me unibreast and it provide good support for low impact activities -- yoga, pilates, spinning, and walking. I don't do high impact cardio so I don't know how well it would support those type of activities. For my needs however, I haven't found a better fitting or more comfortable sports bra. Plus, I love that it comes in black! Tia-Maria from Chicago/IL/USA

Not crazy about the seam across the front, but I knew it was there when purchasing it. Just wear with something other than a tight tee shirt. Once adjusted properly, it gave good support and felt comfortable. Bobi from USA

Cups are MUCH too small. Seam is unattractive under clothing, too. gg

Bra is supportive, but if looking for a "great" sports bra, the underwire might not be what you want. AJ from Arkansas

Best sports bra I've ever owned. I've danced all my life, and I was recently asked to be in a performance of Singin' in the Rain--a lot of tap dancing. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find a bra with enough support, but low and behold the Freya Underwire Sport Bra. The nude color is an added bonus because I can wear it under more revealing clothing and the straps aren't seen on stage. The only downside to this bra is the seam across the center of the breasts, as it shows through tight (dance) clothing. Elaina from St. George, Utah

excellent support bra for the triple D breast-comfortable, minimal bounce. My only complaint is that its a little pointier than needed Nina from Connecticut
