at first, I felt this was a great bra--then the underwire started poking
me on the side of my breast, by the end of the day, after continuous
poking, I was ready to scream. I stopped buying Goddess because the
underwire was poking me, and now I have to add Elomi on to the list
of will not buy because the underwire pokes thru.
It’s difficult to say what the problem might be without actually seeing the bra on you. There are a number of reasons why the under-wire might “poke” you, but usually it’s because you’re in the incorrect size.
1) You’ve got to get the cup and band exactly right in order for the bra to be able to do its job. Elomi and Goddess are very fit-specific brands which is what gives you that wonderful lift and support. If the size is wrong, the under-wire can press into sensitive breast tissue in just the wrong place –very painful!
2) I hope you’re putting the bra on properly, making sure to bring all of the breast tissue in front of the under-wire into the cups. The under-wire should surround and support the breast tissue resting behind the breast on the rib-cage.
3) It might be that you have a petite upper torso (very little room from the underside of the breast to the shoulder). An under-wire can be too high under the arm and cause extreme discomfort there. Many women just prefer a soft cup bra with no under-wires to worry about: For example Elomi offers the Caitlyn 8033
in the Caitlyn collection, a fashionable, pretty alternative to an under-wire bra.
