The Elomi concept seems to just push (I guess they'd call it "support") from below, but there is little support or enclosure in the cup. The bottom of the bra was the strongest underwire I've ever experienced, and it did hold tight, but the cups were just too soft. The girls were floating around and bouncing with every bump I hit while driving the car and I was very conscious of them loosely bouncing around as I walked around the house, just sort of sitting on that hard, rigid wire. The silhouette is also not flattering in my clothing, and the lace version was so scratchy I could see the marks on my abdomen and back for hours after I took it off. I soaked it for a day to see if the lace softened, but it didn't. Perhaps the fit of this bra meets some criteria for "proper fit" in the big Corset-lady bible but if it looks bad and feels worse, I will go back to my "incorrect" undergarments.
Thank you for your candid remarks. We at Elomi use the firmest possible support fabrics. So if you need a firmer fit, it could be either that you are not wearing the correct size, or that you need a bra offering a higher level of control. I would normally recommend a firmer control bra first, but this 8030 is already very firm, so perhaps you need a different size? If the cup is loose, you need a smaller cup size. If the band rides up at the back, you need a smaller band size. Bear in mind that if you reduce a band size, you need to increase a cup size to maintain the same cup volume. The firmest control of all is gained from bras with higher coverage at the centre front, so the Elomi underwired sports bra style 8040 will give you maximum control. You are at the small end of the full figure size range, so perhaps you don’t actually need a full figure bra at all, but would prefer something like our Savannah style 2152 from our full busted brand Fantasie. Style 2152 has great coverage for the full busted but has a lower center front and is lower under the underarm area. As for the lace scratching you, a few washings should eliminate this problem.
