I have purchased these shelf bra camis in the past and loved them. They last forever and they were really comfortable. This new black one however has a really thick seam on the sides where the elastic meets. It’s very uncomfortable! Priscilla from Boston, MA

I ordered a large. It was EXTREMELY tight. Had to return . Went by size chart. I am 130 lbs 36DD. If you are thinkng of getting this, size up.!!

HerRoom Response: This cotton camisole is designed for women up to a D cup size. You did the right thing moving up a size. paula from eastchester ny

I was looking for a camisole that was not a "shaper." I think this one, like all the others I have seen that are stretchy would be very hot to wear in the summer.

HerRoom Response: We are sorry to hear that this camisole did not work for you. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to voice your concerns to us and truly apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Roberta from Massachusetts

I returned this. Poor construction. Seams did not line up and the shelf bra seams are opposite making them dig into my skin.

Elita Response: We take pride our craftsmanship and will investigate this further. Satisfied customers is our number one priority. Marsha

Within a month of having this product the stitching around the elastic of the in built bra started ripping. I bought two and probably wore them only a few times. I think this was a bad batch. Sandra

A great camisole overall. The only complaint I have is the seam inside the shelf bra under your armpits is sewn together very thick and after a whole day can become very irritating. When I take off the tank at night I have two imprints of those seams on either side of my ribcage. This is the only flaw in the tank - the overall quality and price is great and I will buy it again. Quality material, not super thin where it's cheap looking but thin enough to wear under another shirt. The shelf bra is great, but the best part is how high the shirt sits. The front is high enough to wear under professional work shirts, and the back is higher than a regular cami so your back fat doesn't stick out. Love this shirt and will be ordering more! Absolutely love this product! Have a hard time finding a shelf bra camisole with thick enough straps that don't cut into my shoulders. This is amazing - so comfortable & supportive for my 34E bust. These are perfect for sleeping in. A+++ won't stop buying them. Zoe from Sydney, Australia

The fabric is a bit thicker than I expected, and the actual breast coverage was minimal.

Elita Response: The composition of this camisole is 92% cotton /8% spandex, which offers a more robust hand feel than a cotton blend with a higher spandex content. As well, the feature of the “support” shelf on front and back of the garment also creates a heavier weight. The low cut armhole and thin shoulder strap offers less coverage than a camisole with a higher cut armhole and wider shoulder strap. Tonya from Anchorage, AK, USA

I'm really disappointed in the camisole!! I ordered a WHITE camisole. Period. What I got was a white camisole with at pink circle design right in the middle of the top front. If I had wanted that I would have ordered it and that was not shown in the picture that I viewed and ordered.

This cami is too expensive to be so ordinary. It is comfortable but a bit sheer. I would not buy again because of the price. I will stick to the ones you can pick up at Old Navy or even Rite Aid for less than $10.

I was worried about sizing, but ordered 2 anyway! I'm 36DD, and have a hard time finding comfy camisoles to sleep in! I love this item, only sorry that I waited so long to order! Wish they came in assorted colors, but so happy with the two I received! Comfortable straps and the shelf bra is large enough to support me. Cathy from Cape Coral, Fl

The top is very soft, but it is not at all supportive. It also shows every bump. I was hoping it would be something that I could possibly wear on its own but that is clearly not the case. This is 100% meant to be worn under clothing....and not by anybody that needs any sort of support. Amber from Los Angeles

Although this Leisure Bra was very well made, it was not for me. I'm 5'1"/95 lbs and a 32B..with breasts that need a bit more supportive material due to age related sagging. For someone with younger, perkier "girls" this would be a great choice. Kaaren from Santa Ynez, CA

I have had two of these tanks for about six years and they are my favorite, hands down. I've practically worn them out, first as outerwear, and now for bedtime since the side seams have started coming apart. Which is why I happily ordered two more after discovering they are still being made. And purchased two for gifts. Absolutely the most comfortable tank I've ever worn. Love the fabric, fit, and straps. I'm not petite, so tanks aren't generally "cute" on me, but I'm comfortable in these! Julie from Oklahoma City, OK, USA

This items wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. The fit is good, but I thought it would have more structure in the built-in bra. Since I have a large chest, I need more structure, but the material was very nice and the work out pants that I bought are awesome!! Sheila from GLEN CARBON

I've been purchasing built in bra camisoles lately to replace aging ones. These are the best so far. Just the right amount of support (i'm a B cup), and long enough to tuck into pants. I like the wider straps, as they give more support than my previous spaghetti strap bra camisoles. Very soft against my skin, too. I'm not bothered by the logo on the back, as I wear them underneath other tops. I ordered the medium based on previous reviews. I'm 5' and weigh 115 lbs. I think a small would have been too tight. I wear them everyday instead of regular bras. They seem to be holding up well thru numerous washing, too. Ann from Easton, PA

Love this camisole. Very soft and comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the pink logo on the back. Otherwise it could be easily reversed for a higher neckline. I wear a 38 C normally (144 lb.) and ordered a XL. It fit perfectly. Bree from Idaho

Size is not true. I wear a medium in absolutely everything and this barely fit. Even worse is that it has a pink logo on the back, not something I want in a plain black camisole. The best camisole I've found in comfort, texture and quality. It is flattering and presentable under just about anything. I gave it a 4 start because for the price I would have expected it to be an inch longer than it is, it's a bit short. ClassMA from MA

I wear these camisoles instead of a bra. I am a 36C and they give me all of the support I need. I am narrow shouldered and bra straps are continually slipping off my shoulders. I don't have that problem with these camisoles. The fabric is substantial and has just the right amount of stretch. Make sure you go by the sizing chart. Normally I take a medium in tops but with these I wear a large. CAROL from HEMET, CALIFORNIA

I love this cami! Purchased in both black and white. I'm not a big fan of tanks with adjustable straps (those little plastic rings look bad and always break over time). These straps are very comfortable and wide enough to hide bra straps under for additional support/modesty. Note that is does run small. I normally wear a size 4/women's small, but the medium in this cami is a perfect fit. Katrina from Seattle, Washington

I don't like this camisole - it's way too short, the band is too tight, and the rest of it is too loose and baggy, and the bottom hem looks like it's about to unravel at any moment. I also just discovered that another store has a much better cotton/spandex shelf bra camisole with stretchy non-adjustable straps, that's a lot more comfortable but less expensive - "Best Fitting Shelf-Bra Camisole" for $8.

Elita Response: We use the best stretch cotton for this group, and it shows in its comfort and longevity. The straps are also non-adjustable and stretchy due to the right amount of spandex incorporated into the Cotton. I can assure that our Quality Control is very accurate in passing only the best quality products sewn. This camisole is one of our nation-wide best sellers in major Department stores across Canada. Not sure what cup size you are, but I would recommend going up a size to compensate the tight band. Our finest cotton products also wash very well. It's fine that there's an $8 Camisole available at the other store you mentioned however, I can guarantee that it will not last as long after a certain amount of washes. Jane from USA

I accidentally ordered two and was mad at myself until I started wearing them. They are very comfortable and look nice enough to let show in front through an unbuttoned cardigan or something (yoga look). My one complaint is the logo stitched over the label in back. My blouse size is a 16 and I could barely squeeze this item over my head.

Elita Response: Style 4553 is meant to be a fitted camisole (close to the skin). The size chart is correct, and all detailed measurements of this style are listed on the website. A size 16 blouse, as far as I know, should be a size 40 bust or more, if that is the case then this style would be too small. AJ44 from Houston

Good quality cotton & nice support. But cami is a little bulky overall - too much loose material - & non-adjustable straps were too long, causing droopiness.

Elita Response: This size small must be too big for you. You would probably need an x-small which we don't offer. That's the only reason why it would be bulky or the straps would be falling off of you. vtec

First of all, I didn't realize this cami had a shelf bra, so that's my fault. It is uncomfortable over a bra because too many straps around the ribs. It is not supportive enough to wear without a bra for my size. I do like how fitted it is and that it is cotton. I wish the straps were a tad larger to hide bra straps adequately. I need to find a similar cami without the shelf.

Calida Response: Style #4553 does have the shelf bra and would probably be too uncomfortable to wear over another bra. Since it does not have an underwire, it would not be as supportive. Elita does not make a built-up camisole like #4553 without the shelf bra. Nadia from Detroit/MI/USA

I like everything about the Elita camisole, except that on everyone that I have purchased this past winter (5), all have had the seams at the bottom unravel. I even had one re-hemmed ! The cost of that was $12.00, so thought it would be better just to buy new. Wacoal, in the past, made the BEST one, but the style I liked has been discontinued.

Elita Response: Style #4553 is a very fine cotton and sometimes the stitching at the bottom can come loose. This does not happen often and we will be happy to replace it. Sandy from Reno, NV.

The only thing that would make this item better is perhaps a v-neck with a slightly deeper cut. I can't stand any kind of bra and wear this type of undergarment every day. Haven't been able to find it in stores so I was soooooo happy to find it here. Karen from Acushnet, MA

Great fit. So many tanks are too long for me because they're all made to fit over leggings at the moment. This one is the perfect length, hitting at the hip bones, and the straps are just wide enough to hide bra straps, while still looking attractive. The shelf bra adds the perfect thickness so the shirt is not too sheer, even in white. I have shopped and shopped for tanks and this is the best quality and fit for the price. Alexis

I love this cami. Since I found it, it has become my favorite undergarment, and when the weather is warm, I can strip down to just the cami. It is sleek enough that it doesn't add bulk under other layers, and the shelf bra offers plenty of support for us "modestly endowed" girls. I have been searching for a long time for an undergarment that fits like my workout tops, and this is it! Polly from Olympia, WA

Wanted a non-underwire cami to wear under suits & sweaters. This doesn't look good. Too thin, falls poorly.

Elita Response: 4553 is a very light weight cotton/lycra that is made to be thin. You should try our 3653 camisole that has a shelf bra in it. Robin from Deerfield, IL, USA

This camisole is the most comfortable one I have ever worn. I'm glad I have several, because I sleep in it; wear it around the house when I am at home; and wear it under my clothes almost every day. I am patiently awaiting one in black, since I own several white ones. I wish it came in multiple colors. I'm glad I ordered the Medium instead of Small. It is just right since it has stretch in it. The price is right; and the fit is perfect. Sheila from Houston, TX USA

This cami runs large. I'm a 34B and the small is a little big including the non-adjustable straps. The cami is also a bit bulky - lots of loose material on the outside that doesn't fit flat on the body, which is a problem if you want to wear a form-fitting tee on top.

Elita Response: It sounds like you would be a small, so we don't know why it would run large. It does have built up straps so they are not adjustable. anonymous

This is a well-made, comfortable garment and the size fits as expected. I only have one complaint: there is a large, contrasting logo on the outside rear neckline (I ordered the item in black). If the logo were on the inside, the camisole would look a lot more dressy. As it is, it's for casual use only. Regular customer from New York City

The item was not as described. It is listed as 92% cotton and cotton/lycra. The garment did not have the 'give' that cotton has and is very fitting. The large is really a medium. I am very disappointed in this garment and will be returning it.

Elita Response:This style is 92% cotton 8% lycra spandex. I would suggest you try the XL in this style if you do not want it as fitted. Nancy from Troy, NY 12180

I'm normally a medium, but have to purchase shelf-bra camis in a large to accommodate my bust (34DD) comfortably and securely. These were a perfect fit! The fabric has a little stretch so it's not too baggy, and the bust coverage and support is better than most camis - which is very important since I use these for lounging and sleeping. The only improvement might be to reduce the seam bulk along the inside of the straps - but overall a great base cami. amy from harrisburg, pa

Fit isn't quite right. Bust is much too small for my average size chest. The straps are too long to offer decent support. I may try to take a needle and thread to mine so It will become usable, but will have to deal with the shelf being too small. A larger size would be much too large everywhere else to offer any support whatsoever. I'm bummed. It's a cute little top.

Elita Response: Being a cotton/lycra top, this style is not meant to give a lot of support. The straps are built-up, so they can't be adjusted. We would suggest you go up a size. I don't think the body of the top would be that much bigger. Amber from Los Angeles/CA/USA

I love this cami and am going to order more. Although I am a C-cup, the inner bra provides enough support for everyday (maybe not for work, depending on situation). It is very comfortable and an added layer in cold weather. The Medium is form-fitting on me in a good way- supportive but comfortable (I am a size 8) Anne from Philadelphia, PA

It was very comfortable but the straps were way too long and are not adjustable, giving it a very cleavage-showing neckline. (I am 5'2".) I wish it came in petite or something. Alex

I should have known but didn't, but this is more of a shaper than I'd expected. I'm not sure I'd have ordered it had I known, but I really like how it cinches me in without feeling the least bit suffocating. I'd recommend this to a friend. Jennifer

I bought this as a camisole to sleep in and it is wonderful. The cotton is very soft and the shelf bra gives me enough support for sleeping and lounging. I usually wear a women's medium or petite large. This is a snug fit as a large...I think the size runs a bit small. I will be purchasing another one soon. Very happy with this purchase. I love this camisole! I have one in each color and will order 2 more. It is a very comfortable fit and gives just the right amount of support. It must be a very popular item because it has been out of stock each time I've ordered it, but it eventually finds its way to my door. I love this cami! I liked it so much, I came back and bought more! I wash it on delicate and dry on low or air dry. It hasn't shrunk at all. I am small busted, a b cup, and the shelf bra is just enough support for everyday activity. I wouldn't go jogging in it. ( I wouldn't go jogging anyways!) I am mostly homebound with an illness and I rarely get dressed. I sleep in one of these cami's, yoga pants or pj pants and if someone stops by, I toss on a sweater and I look dressed! If I have to go somewhere, I wear this cami instead of a bra, and as a layer under a sweater or a low cut shirt. Teresa from Grand Rapids, MN USA
