Having ordered the identical gown, only in short sleeves a few years back, I was very disappointed in the fabric weight of this long sleeved gown. It’s noticeably thinner, which is so disappointing. The quality is okay, though.

I have exact same nightgown. Hoping to replace because this was advertised as having longer length. After single cold water wash and dry on low, it shrunk to be just as short as old one. Arms and length designed for shorter women under 5'1". I am 5'7".

I love Calida nightgowns. I have been wearing them for several years. The cotton fabric is so soft. They hold up well washing after washing. The gowns are just right for a comfortable sleep. No buttons or other items to get caught in the sheets. The fit seems true to size. In other brands many times a medium is the size I need even though one would think I would wear a small but in this brand a small is just right. The nightgown is soft and fits well. However there was quite a bit of shrinkage after the first wash. The sleeves now are a good 2-3 inches shorter. Love this nightgown! I was looking for something with long sleeves, but without too high of a neckline. This nightgown is nearly perfect...soft, lightweight but warm. My only complaint is that I would like the sleeves a little longer. But since sleeves being too short is usually a problem for me, I do not fault the design of the nightgown. Getting it on sale is definitely a plus, as the price is more than I would normally pay for a nightgown. However, the quality of this garment is so high that I feel like it is worth the price. I bought this as a birthday present for my mother-in-law. As she was the recipient, I sought out her comments on this Calida nightgown. Here they are. The night gown is great. The fabrice of the gown is just like the others and the size and color are great too. The ones I have, I have had for more than ten years and the binding around the neck is not a satinly fabric where the other ones were made of the night gown material, but I think that otherwise they are the same. Frankly I wondered if this nightgown was a knockoff. I own three other Calida nightgowns, and they are all cut more generously than this one - and they are all softer. While I decided it was not worth my time or expense to return this purchase, I did question whether I can trust this company.

Calida Response:We were quite puzzled by your comments and checked with headquarters about your comments and got the report back that nothing has changed in the sizing or quality of these gowns. I received specs to check measurements for the gowns and they measure according to our samples. Though the gown was soft and very well made, at 115 lbs, I would have expected to look nice in this gown. I looked like a pillow. The way it is cut did not give me a flattering appearance. The way the shoulders were defined was uncomfortable and didn't look natural...hard to explain. If you are very slim and have tight muscles, it may be flattering. I got my first Calida nightgown in this style in Switzereland over thirty years ago and loved it. I've had several more over the years and this one is as good as the first. I only wear Calida nightgowns. They are the softest, most comfortable (no frills) nightgown on the planet. If you know someone who is very picky about softness and comfort...get them this nightgown. It is the BEST! Janice from Riverside, CT, USA

This is a very nice cotton fabric, but the sleeves are too short and there is embroidery on the bodice that scratches the skin. The skirt is too full and traps me turning over in bed. I'm going to line the bodice so that it doesn't scratch, but it might have been better for the rather high price. Barbara from St. Paul, MN USA

I love these Calida gowns -- I have bought 6 of them and the ones that are 3 years old still look lively. The cotton is so soft and smooth it feels like silk, and they are unbelievably comfortable for sleeping because they stretch when you do and do not bind. They wash like a charm and stay soft after drying in a drier. I generally wear a 2X and this gown is comfortable for me at an XL. Barbara from Georgia

This is my favorite nightgown. I bought my first one more than 20 years ago from a catalog that no longer carries the item and I was thrilled that I found it at your sight. The cotton is the softest, and the material actually has natural stretch in it, and it moves with you while you turn in your sleep. It is well worth the money. Lovely, soft comfortable fabric and roomy fit (as indicated in product info) This was a gift for someone, and she was delighted with the nightdress. My only problem was the long wait for delivery (back-ordered); tried to cancel after 5 weeks and was told item had just shipped.

Usually when I pay that much for something (70 something dollars for a gown, the sleeves are plenty long. I have long arms so that is why I can't buy inexpensive clothes. The sleeves on this gown were several inches too short. so short that I went back to the web site to see if they were actually 3/4 length. They weren't I was so disappointed. This is a very soft nightie, smooth and flowing. It fits well and has just the right amount of fullness. I like the cut of the yoke and sleeves - the sleeves move so easily, do not bind up. I am 5'4" and nightie comes a few inches above my ankles. Fine for me. I thought of buying one for my mom but she is only 5' so it would hit the floor on her. I have never bought Calida before but can now see why the cost is a bit higher than some other brands and I think it's worth the money. Kathy from Richland, WA
