Bra was very uncomfortable and cumbersome... felt quite large.

HerRoom Response: It is noted you have left other reviews that products are too large . Please contact us so we can help you find your correct size. Michele from Vacaville CA

I am returning this because it is way too small, and not adjustable (which I knew). The sizing guide was not that helpful, so I ordered the size I wear in a conventional bra by Wacoal, but I couldn't even hook it closed.

HerRoom Response: We are sorry to read about your experience. This bra has been in the Anita program for many years with great reviews. it is sports bra and therefore has a snug fit to reduce breast bounce - very different from an every-day's bra fit. Nancy

Too small and there was no insert for a breast prothesis.

HerRoom Response: A front closure bra like this requires that you have an accurate band size because there is no adjustability. Our details did not state there are pockets in the cups. Nancy from Lawrenceville

After my lumpectomy, my radiation oncologist said NO WIRES. I went to a place where you can be fitted for a bra (Attached to a dirty bookstore, of all places) The woman in charge measured me, fitted me, and I wear it every day!!!!! worth the price.

I purchased this bra for after my implant removal as my Doctor recommended a compression bra for 6 weeks. I absolutely love it; it is super comfortable and super soft. I can see this being my everyday bra. It also did not bother my incision site, below the breast. Yvonne from Depoe Bay, OR

I was professionally measured, 36 DD, but have several VS 34 DDD underwire that fit perfect. My doctor suggested a sports bra and to go wire free due to pain from years of underwire bras and hormone issues. The Anita bra cups were to large and "headlights" totally visible due to thin fabric. Band was too large by about an inch.

HerRoom Response:All your comments sound like you are in the wrong size and the wrong style bra. If you are looking for modesty in cups, please look for the word "contour cup" in our details section. Judy from Arcola, IL, USA

Well I was a size 30C in the EU but in the US a 30B anyway I tried this bra once, thin fabric which doesn't help with show through and to me it bounces all over the place, I would call it personally a low impact. Kimberley from netherland

No shaping in the cups, just mashes the girls. Low cut along the arm pit creating armpit cleavage. Like the front closure and front adjustable straps.

It was my mistake, I ordered too small. But I reordered a larger size and I love it! If they ask me about the larger size bra I will give it 5 stares! I had breast cancer so I have to have fake boobs. One is higher than the other, from radiation. But Anita Active front closer sports Bra Is the best ! It has shoulder straps, that you can tighten the straps. So I now can tighten the one side that is lower, an I look even ! Thank you HerRoom!!!! Merilee from DeKalb/IL./USA

Love my other Anita Sports bras, but this one didn't work since I'm one of those who measures to a 36 band, and always ends up in a 34. That makes front close bras difficult to fit. Still, a great brand for sports bras! Anon from US

Recently had breast reduction surgery and this bra was perfect and most comfortable. Wore it at 3 weeks post op and am still loving it as it is supportive and easy to put on. I did order a 38C after reading the other reviews ,as I measure as a 36C but read that by ordering one size up the band would be more comfortable as a post op bra and I agree . Lucy from Boston MA

I bought this after reduction surgery. The adjustable hook and loop straps are wonderful. The one major problem I have with this bra and actually most all bras is the band under the breasts. The band on this bra is terribly uncomfortable after wearing it for a short time. One tip I would give manufacturers of bras is widen the band alittle and soften it up. Especially after surgery it was awhile before I was able to tolerate it. The cup support in this bra is good. Ann from NLR/AR/USA

This is a very good post reduction surgery bra. The only problem I had was the band under the breast where it was zig zag stitched was very painful. It made the band very uncomfortable because it was so tight. If the stitching could be left off or stitched with a looser stitch pattern then it would get 5 stars. I don't think this band needs to be so tight. ann from NLR, AR:USA

This bra was perfect following my breast surgery. After reading the reviews, I decided to size up to a 38 instead of my usual 36 and it was exactly the right thing to do after ordering both sizes to try on. The cup size was true to size and soft and comfortable. The front hooks were vere easy to fasten and the adjustable shoulder straps gave great personalized support. Since I knew I would be wearing it non-stop for at least a month, it had to be comfortable. They washed nicely too. JR from Northern CA

These are the best bras I have ever owned. They don't ride up and the band around the bra doesn't curl up. They give me the support an older woman needs. I put them in the washer on the gentle cycle using Woolite, put them on a hanger to dry and they come out beautifully. I wash them after every wearing. Love, Love, Love these bras! This is the first bra I've owned that the band doesn't fold up in front. The bra stays in place very nicely. It doesn't flatten me out and it gives me the support I was looking for since I'm an older woman. It washes beautifully on the gentle cycle. I ordered several and can't wait to receive all of them. I just had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, and this is the best bra I've found to use after the surgical bra. The front-adjustable shoulder straps were a huge benefit, since I was still sore and didn't have full range of motion. The band was a little snug, but the bra offered high compression, which I really needed. I highly recommend! Jennifer from St. Louis

Excellent bra, very supportive and felt good (bought to use as post-surgical bra after a breast reduction). Band is a little tighter than I normally get with a 36, but that may be because I'm a swollen from surgery. Love the straps that are adjustable in front, they make it so easy to get the fit right. I am going to keep buying these for my workouts when I've recovered, I like them so much. AE from Virginia

I am 5'8" and 243 lbs. My mom bought two of these sports bras for summer camp. I love them and have been using them everyday for school. They have adjustable straps which I needed because I am only an "A" cup. I love the sides I feel like my fat doesn't hang over. I don't really like all the hooks in front, but I have found I don't even unhook it. I don't even notice them when I am wearing the bra. My mom is getting me two more. Estee from San Diego

I'm three weeks out from BR surgery, and I have bought 5-6 bras, from the very cheap to the fairly expensive trying one after another in the effort to find one that is comfortable for more than two or three hours. The Active Anita is one of the best. Support and compression are both great. It seems to run true to size (although I'm not actually sure what that means, since I was a 34 DDDD before). The band was a bit tight at first, but it has stretched a bit with wearing and the bra is now quite comfortable, and doesn't dig into my ribs or my incisions. If you don't like the feeling of snugness around your ribcage, you might want to order one band size up. Katherine from Weston, MA

I ordered this bra for post-op wear after breast reduction surgery about ten days ago. I followed the instructions for measuring my size. It arrived today, and it's definitely snug, probably too tight to wear all day. On the assumption that, like most bras, it will stretch out with wearing/washing, I am going to keep it, in the hope that after a few washings, and after the swelling goes down in a few weeks, it will fit perfectly. If/when that happens, I think it will be a very comfortable bra. If you need it to be perfect right out of the box, best order one size up. Katherine from Weston, MA

I finally found a bra I can put on myself and is very comfortable day after day. I have several arthropathies that limit my range of motion. It has made putting on traditional bras nearly impossible. So I began trying front hooks. This one has worked the best. I love the velcro straps. They lay smoother than I anticipated they would. I can adjust them from the front for custom support each day. I've had no binding and pinching. I am satisfied with the separation- not as uni-booby as some front hooks have been. The fabric is soft, smooth, yet very firm making it quite comfortable for all day wear. LunaRaevn from WA

Really nice in every way with wide strong straps and comfortable supportive cups. The only thing is that the straps (where it touches my back skin), it pokes and chafes my back skin so I have to limit the wear to only several hours a day; I can't wear it all day, everyday without bruising or chafing my back skin. I am not happy with this bra. I selected it for 2 reasons: the photo looks like one's breasts are held separately, but my experience is "uni-boob." I also looked forward to the adjustable straps, but they are held with Velcro, which seems to hold well when I put it on, but one of the straps released (on 2 separate occasions) while I was walking my dog -- not a vigorous activity. I am happy with HerRoom, just not this particular product. We are very sorry for these circumstances with the product and we do apologize. Certainly our quality control will review the velcro on this product again since we never heared such a complaint. Once again, we are sorry and maybe one of our other sports bras like Anita Molded Sports Bra 5527 and Anita Momentum Sports Bra 5529 would work for you. Sarah from Chicago

This bra is a wonder! I had surgery for replacement of implants and a lift on one side. I was miserable in all the post surgical bras. Miserable!! Every other bra was too tight on my ribcage or sagging, or flattening. I went through a dozen bras until I found this. I am athletic and slim and this bra works for all my impact activities. I love that I can unhook the top or bottom hooks after a workout. It washes beautifully. I am the proud owner of 5 of these bras. Anita, please don't ever discontinue this model! Renee from CT

I like the bra, but it does roll up at the bottom and it is a bit hot for the summer...but works pretty well...has 8 snaps which is a bit more than I like..you have to adjust the straps down a bit or it cuts in under your arms...but it is better than some I have tried. Judy from yuba city

It is very small sized compared to other bras of the "same size." I hope it fits when I am healed from surgery, as it does not now. Somewhat disappointed.

Anita Response: We feel sorry about that it does not fit you very well. Because this is a front closure bra, the shape and construction is a little different, so we always recommend getting fitted for you correct size before purchasing. Janet from Marshfield

COMFORTABLE! Great adjustability with the Velcro straps and this is exactly what I was searching for when I had breast reduction surgery in October of 2011, but never found it until now. The straps don't dig and the band is terrific. My plastic surgeon said I had to wear a front closure sports bra and what a challenge it was to find a comfortable one. Never did find a comfy one post-op and I was miserable. All healed now and just want comfort for every day. I LOVE THIS BRA! It gives a nice line, also. Bevy from Bristol, VA.

Firstly, I ordered 40E and had meant to order 42E. Regardless, the bra certainly looked comfortable and well constructed. I suppose I want this bra to double for both everyday wear and for sports. With that in mind, it was returned as I did not like the many hook and eyes that ran down the front. If using for just sports, I think it would be excellent. Gail from Ridgefield, CT

This is my new favorite around the house bra! I got the 44B and there is a little looseness in the cup. I tightened the straps and put in concealers and that did the job. I now see that it comes in a 44A. I am getting the other color in the A. I especially like that the bra comes down 5 1/4 " on the sides. Totally smooths out the side bulges and sits around my rib cage so there is no digging in. The hooks are a trick, so I hook them up and then put it on over my head. The straps adjusting in front are a bonus. They look bulky, but are not. Virginia from California

I could have picked up a training bra from the supermarket for all the support this bra gives me. If I want to sleep in it, it's ok, but if I want to jog or do a sitting trot (on a horse) it's useless.

Anita Response: This is our sport bra from our medium level. We suggest this one more likely for yoga or pilates. We do have in our high level 5527+5529 which give the most support you can find on the market. In 5529 we even won the RED DOT DESIGN award in 2011. Both run up to H Cup and give a really good support. Pam from Northport, NY

The band on most bras is uncomfortable for me. A wide chest band in a large size around -- is more comfortable. But I have small breasts. The virtues of this bra is that it offers a combination that accommodates these needs. You can order large around chest and wide band and small cups. For more comfort yet, you can also unhook the bottom hooks and not lose any of the support and flattering line that the bra offers. I haven't found another bra to match the comfort and flattering fit of this Anita. D from Asheville NC USA

I love this bra! I have fibromyalgia and my muscles are very tender. I am also tall and straps are often too short for me -- even this one when my shoulders are really sore, but because of the velco straps, I was able to extend them by using an additional piece of velcro -- easy, no sewing, and perfectly 'customizable'. Also, properly fitting bra bands often feel too tight to me and increase my pain even after a short time, but because I am an E cup (with a small ribcage) I need to wear a bra in public. With this one I can unhook the bottom hooks when it gets uncomfortable and it still holds me in place -- amazing. Also, the way it's designed, it holds your breasts apart -- no 'uniboob' :) (a little manual positioning when putting it on helps to make it fit right). I am so grateful to the makers of this bra, and to Herroom for carrying it. Please keep doing so! (btw, for those complaining of the velcro not always holding, you could add a piece that would secure it. I just leave it connected when taking it off.) Chris from VA

LOVE this bra. I actually use this as a night-time bra. I prefer front close night bras (got to keep the love life in mind!), but I am never without a bra (the reason the girls have stayed so perky all these years), and this is sooo comfortable. The one oddity is the hooks work differently than the Enell bra (the hooks are on the opposite side), which takes a time or two to get used to - but, the second I tried it on, I immediately ordered a second. I hope they carry this forever - although I plan on ordering more soon, just in case they don't. gracie from cedar hill

This is my all-time favorite bra. It is extremely comfortable for everyday wear, and easy to put on even with two arthritic shoulders. Sadly, due to weight loss, I now need a 34F, which is not available in this particular bra. Dear Anita, please PLEASE consider extending your size range for this style. The back-close version is not as comfortable supportive for someone with a large bust -- that full-back panel really helps. For now, I have ordered another 36E, and I'm going to try to get the band altered to fit me. Heidi from Baltimore, MD USA

I purchased this garment for everyday wear after my breast reduction surgery. I have been very pleased with the comfort and the velor straps are a great help for removing the bra as pain free as possible. I am glad i opted for one size larger than my target cup size to allow for the swelling to go down. I had looked everywhere for sports bras in a 40DD with no luck, and the one I did find shrunk when washed. I went on line to HerRoom and found what looked to be a great bra, but figured I could return it and felt sure that would be the case. Boy was I wrong. I would recommend this bra to larger chested women. I purchased one in white and one in black. The comfort and ease of the front closure make it a 5 star in my opinion. Not only was the merchandise excellent but so was the service and how quickly and professionally they arrived, along with follow-up emails. I purchased the bras based on my surgeons recommendation of what would work best - I am having a breast reduction surgery and right now the bras do not fit - but after the surgery I will post another review - the fact that they are "compression" bras, wireless and front closures is the reason I purchased them. Also, there were reviews from previous surgery patients who chose them - that was a help. Nancy from Shelty Twp., Michigan, USA

A bit disappointed as the straps (velcro) sometimes don't stay closed. I was walking into the grocery store when my strap opened and a breast dropped. Not a good feeling. Love this front close bra that has shoulder adjustments. My only *itch is that as a big girl (200lbs+) I can never find a sports bra that doesn't roll at the band. I thought I had it with this one but after a few washes (handwash, cold, hung dry) the roll is there after about an hour of wear. Still comfortable though, even on the hottest of days(100's). I have worn this bra in size 36E as an every-day bra for a long time. Recently I lost some weight, but stayed the same cup size (just saggier, sigh). I decided to order a new bra in 34F, only to discover to my dismay that the bra only goes up to 34E. I ordered a 34E to see if I could get away with it, but it wasn't large enough to contain my breasts. So sad. This was far and away my favorite bra -- comfortable, easy to put on and adjust, didn't give me uni-boob. Definitely a 5-star bra. Heidi from Baltimore, MD

Purchasing this item was easy and it arrived fairly quickly. However, the bra is too constricting and is not appropriate for breast reconstruction as some may have stated in their reviews. I tried it on for all of ten minutes before I had to take it off. I also didn't realize how hard it would be to find a front close (with hooks) sports bra in a 34C that also had supportive cups and didn't give the "uni-boob" effect. I will still order from HerRoom when I can wear regular bras again because they do have a great selection and ship quickly. JH from Quincy, MA

I just had breast surgery last July. I needed a great support bra, very comfortable, and with front close. I discovered this website and ordered this bra. Wasn't too sure when I first received it and was ready to return without tring it on. I did try it on anyway and it is the most perfect bra I have every had. Great support! Great fit! Holds my shape perfectly! Very lightweight. I feel complete all around. I can run my Setters and not bounce. Just holds me in place without any tightness or pressure. I have looked a very long time for this and now especially after my surgery I have finally found the perfect bra for me! I have ordered more - 3 whites, and 5 blacks! Looks great under my tops! I love this bra! I hate putting sports bras over my head - I feel like they're strangling me! - so I've been looking for a sports bra that has hooks. It is supportive enough to run at top speed on the treadmil and it is comfortable enough to leave on all day. My only complaint: it would be even better if there was more than one row of "eye" closures so that I could tighten or loosen the bra as needed. Melissa from CA

This bra is amazing- easy to put on and very supportive. would definitely buy the version with an under wire if there was one. Price is fair. I will probably buy another one as a back-up. Lauren from New York, NY

I love this high-quality bra and ordered it a size smaller in the cup than normal for more compression. I am a 30 band though (30G/H) so after a while I took it in/altered it. This bra is hard to alter due to the style of the back, but this very back makes for a super supportive bra. The straps are adjustable and the hooks making it easy to get in and out of. I often use this as a sleep bra. Being the size I am makes bra shopping challenging and forces me to alter (most of the time), but for someone fitting into more normal sizes I absolutely recommend this wonderful bra. Band too large. Straps too long. Cups ok. Even with the adjustable velcro, they were so long there was no where else to velcro them to! I am 5'1". Maybe some day they will make bras for short women. Too bad because I really liked the style and theory of this bra.

HerRoom Response: Laura, in other reviews you stated you are a 30 band size. This bra unfortunately does not come in your size. Laura from MI

this bra is the most comfortable sports bras I have worn. the adjustable shoulder strap accessible from the front makes it very easy to adjust to your satisfaction without taking it off or asking for help. the wider band around the chest also adds to the comfort with out cutting into your rib cage. the fabric is very soft and over all a very nice fit. I would highly recommend this bra and am purchasing two other from the same manufacturer because I liked this bra so much. Becky from CA

This is by far the most comfortable, supportive sports/post-surgery bra ever! The adjustable, wide, non-stretch straps are great and everything stays put no matter what. Shannon from Washington

I ordered what I normally wear a 36B. It was too tight. I returned it and ordered a 36C. It was also too tight. I returned the 36C for a refund.

HerRoom Response: This is a high impact sports bra. It must fit tight in order to give proper support. Sondra from Hot Springs Village, AR, US

I ordered this to wear after breast reduction surgery. There are very few front close sports bras out there. I wish I had known how swollen I would be -- a 40 would have been more comfortable -- but after about a week and a half it fits fine. I do have the problem, like others, of the band rolling up. I ordered a second one but don't know if I'll keep it because of that. Other than that, it's a great bra. Molly from Ohio

It is hard to find my size. I have bought 3 bras from you and am very pleased with the product and the speed in which they are sent to me. I am now awaiting the 3rd bra which is on backorder. Thank you, Janice Janice from Houston TX USA

This is an extremely comfortable front-closing sport bra. Wide velcro straps assist with proper fitting. I took the advice of a previous reviewer and ordered a 34D even though I usually wear 34DD. The 34D fits snugly, but I think that's the point of a sports bra. I liked the first one so much that I ordered another. Rose Marie from South Florida

I am an augmentation patient and I must say this is the most comfortable post-op garment I could possibly have. I am currently wearing it 5 days post-op and it is very comfortable. It was worth the money. N from Arizona, USA

When I first took it out of the box I was very disappointed and couldn't believe that I had just paid $54.00 for such a small and thin piece of material, which looked like it wouldn't provide much support or coverage. But I was actually surprised it provided as much support as it did. I liked the adjustable straps since you can adjust them to reduce the"bounce". I am a runner in search of the perfect sports bra that will eliminate bounce and also give you shape( no uniboob) and this bra is probably one of the better ones out there, but I will still keep on searching for that perfect bra. I am actually a 36C, but ordered the 36B and it fit perfectly. Tricia from oakland

WOW! What a bra!!! I was given the task to find a sports bra on my "normal size" before a breast augmentation surgery to wear for three-days solid (then to sleep and day wear for 30 days), but the trick was it had to be front-closure. I am used to wear sports bra but finding one front-closure wasn't easy, then I found your website. I just took off another sports-bra after three days wearing, and I have to say I was dreading the thought to put another tight sports bra. To my surprise, when I put on the Anita 5522 "microfibre" bra it feels as comfortable as a nice fitting glove!! I can barely fill it, still, I am getting all the support needed from a sports bra!!!! This is magnificent! I have no doubt I can wear this bra to sleep and play for 30 days or longer. Thank you Tomima for having this bra on your website!!!! prietaorl from Orlando/FL/USA
