Very pleased. Fits perfect. Have ordered two more. As you age everything falls south due to gravity. Very hard to find bras to manage breasts, side skin under arms and back. This bra does it all. Roberta from San Antonio, Texas

Construction of this bra is superb. What this bra does for your figure must be experienced. I do need more or heavier fabric in cups for modesty, but will not part with fit and flatter this good. Modesty covers are the solution. Lee from SC

I've been wearing Anita 5490 for many years and have three colors. It's the best bra I've ever worn. When a sale appears, I buy one or two to keep in reserve. One never knows when an item will no longer be made by the manufacturer. Paula

Overall fit as expected but straps had to be tightened as far as they could and still falling off shoulder!!! If straps stretch out bra will be worthless. At $70 expected better.

HerRoom Response: Your straps falling off your shoulders could be due to your band size being too large. Consider moving from a 36E(D2) to a 34F(D3). TFry - EV from Andover, KS USA

I bought this because I bought the same brand and similar bra many years ago and it remains the best I look in a bra. On the negative, I would love to have a bra with this look and no metal and smaller straps. I have never owned the comfortable bra I'd like and, in this, I look my most natural self (if you go back 25 years). Rebecca from Novato, CA

The band run bigs. The shoulder straps are a tad too long--shorter straps would provide for more adjustment. The cup is a tad small. I ordered the same bra in a 34E; although it was comfortable, I did not feel fully supported, so I ordered a 32E. I probably should have ordered a 32F. They're still good enough to keep because they're both very comfortable despite the sizing issue. StaceyB from Mi

As a Sleep Bra (what I bought it for): excellent. very comfortable! As an everyday bra (what most people are probably considering it for): the adjustable straps don't adjust small enough to make it supportive for me so if you have ever had that issue before (as I have) or are smaller framed...this bra may not be right for you. I was fitted for this bra at a high end shop in Chicago 10 years ago. It is not padded, but has the most luxurious fabric close to your skin. I wear petals underneath to avoid bumpy see-thru. Although this is a pricey bra, they last forever. I've had only the hook portion replaced by the Chicago shop. Never had any underwires poke - always stayed finished and comfortable. I thought it was time to buy some additional bras. And although my weight fluctuates 10 - 20 lbs, over the years I can still wear the same size. It fits well in the back (limits back fat), great coverage but can still wear v neck tops and straps are well constructed and comfortable. I've always had challenges finding the right size bra, but this one is the best one I've found for my size/ apple shape. CKHLL from Portage, IN/USA

Great Lightweight Support. These cups are a stretch material, so they fit each breast perfectly. The support is great and the comfort is too. Was so impressed I ordered a few more. Lastly, large breasted women often sacrifice a sexy look to get the support. This might not meet a "sexy" standard, but the cut is fairly flattering. It has as much of a plunging front that you can get in a larger size Janie from Milwaukee

I have had a VERY hard time finding a bra that is both supportive and comfortable. But, at last, I have! It doesn't squeeze me too tight, the wires don't cut into me and best of all- the band stays down on my ribs instead of bunching up under my breasts! I started with one and now I have three. I will buy more when I have the money. ALSO- not too expensive. I have paid over $100 for bras that's are terrible. This is the one for me. Bekey from California

Awile ago I wore Twin Firm in 30D, but I often had slight wrinkling in my right cup. Recently I bought the Seamless Comfort in 30C, hoping it would not wrinkle, and it doesn't. However, the Seamless Comfort doesn't fit as well as the Twin Firm. Seamless seems to have a longer gore, and the wires are definitely shorter (maybe this is because of the C cup). Twin Firm is better for me.

HerRoom Response: Thank you for your feedback. These are two different bras and the Twin Firm does have a higher a center gore. Also the wire sweep may not be as long in the C cup versus the D cup. Shani from Phoenix

I have been wearing this bra in 38F for at least 14 years. I just bought a new one in my same size and the cups are smaller!!! I see that my other bras were made in Europe and this one is made in Myanmar. Sheesh! what the heck is going on. Where is the quality control?

Anita Response: All manufacturing factories have the same standardized production quality. The cut for 5490 has not been modified. In some cases, the black dye runs a bit smaller than a lighter dye. Also it is important to get refit at least twice a year because our bodies are forever changing. Check out HerRoom's Bra Fitting Center to find your perfect size in this bra. Ellen from Fort Pierce

Description is incorrect. The straps are ALL stretch. If the sides are 2-ply, it's undetectable. The center height on the item I received was 3.25 inches. I wonder if the cup wires will stop squeaking after it's worn for a while, but I'm sending back due to poor fit. Not supportive enough either.

Anita Response: You are correct, these straps do stretch. The 2-ply description comes from the word twin which means two. There are in-fact 2 layers of fabric on the entire bra. Sometimes hand washing a bra with a little fabric softener will fix the squeaking of an underwire. We suggest trying style 5694 which has a firmer fit. Leslie from Michigan

I was disappointed that there was absolutely no molding...however must not have read the description close enough.

HerRoom Response: If you are looking for a more contour cup, we suggest trying Makeda 5438, which is made out of spacer foam. This should provide the coverage you are looking for. Rhubarb from Minot

First, this bra is not suitable for petite people (I'm 5'3"). I tightened the straps as far as they would go and there was still a real risk they would slip off my shoulders. Second, it separated my boobs to an extreme, made them hang out just under my armpits.

HerRoom Response: We suggest trying Fantasie style FL4520. This style has fully adjustable straps. Anca from Seattle/WA/USA

This is a very comfortable bra, the cups fit well and the band doesn't dig in. I am short (5'2) and very stacked and the straps while very comfortable don't go quite short enough to keep the girls up where they belong- except for my shortness the bra fits great! Kate from Washington

This item was not what I expected for 2 reasons. 1) I typically wear Rosa Faia #5688 which fits like a glove. Because of a fitting comment for this bra, and after double checking through an online chat, I ordered a 30G instead of my typical 30F. Although sizing up was recommended, the cups were too big and did not provide a good fit for me. 2) Secondly, I thought this bra had more lining than the Rosa Faia #5688, however it did not.

HerRoom Response: For the first time Anita customer, going up a cup in 5490 is correct. The difference between the two bras is that 5688 has less stretch in the cups than 5490. In this instance, because you're an avid wearer of 5688, the same cup size would've worked beautifully. Beth from Madison, WI

I am an African American women and the traditional nude bras are not my nude! I have looked for years for a good fitting brown bras. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found these. I waited almost a month for my bras to come in on back order. Then when I received them they didn't even come close to fitting. I am a D cup but these bras where like an A cup.

I am 5'3, and first bought this bra when I was 40 lbs heavier (44 D). It is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. I tried other bras by this maker, but this is my favorite. Over my weight loss the past 7 months, I continue to buy this bra because it continues to fit consistently and is so comfortable. I think it is well worth the cost. The construction is outstanding, it washes well, and 'looks' well under clothing. I tried others in this brand, but was disappointed that the cups were to sheer, and one type had an odd sound after washing. This bra has no issues, even when my husband accidentally puts it in the dryer (I always air dry). ATL-lady from atlanta, GA, USA

I ordered 2 of these in different colors. The one fits like a dream, the other color is too small as if it is a 36 and not a 38.

First off, the bra fit well on trial so I washed it and wore it. The very next time I washed it I noticed that the elastic strip that attaches to the hooks had pulled away from the seam. I got on the chat line to arrange a replacement only to be told that it would not qualify since I had laundered the bra.

HerRoom Response: I'm sorry you had this experience. This is Anita's No. 1 Rosa Faia style in the US and unfortunately the laundering may have been the cause of this issue. Sharon from Muskegon, MI

Wish this bra was a little cheaper, but it's worth it nonetheless. Amazing comfort and support. Things to note: this is built for a mid-tall person so if you're a hobbit like me, you'll have to take the straps up. Also, it does separate the ladies more than I'm used to. Nothing too severe, they're still fairly front and center. Lastly, the cups were a quarter size too big, but I did the "bend and arrange" and everything fell perfect for me. Seriously though, this is one of the most comfortable things I've ever put on my body and I'm super picky. Katherine from Ohio

This is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. When I was a bit heavier I tried the Rosa Faia Twin and it was SO comfortable. I didn't care for the fact that it was so thin. I lost 25 lbs and needed a new bra. I decided to try this bra and it fits like a glove and no pain or discomfort. It seems to have just a bit thicker material in the cups which is a plus, although I wish it were still just a bit thicker. As I continue to lose weight I will buy this bra again. I don't think I will ever wear a bra that isn't this brand again. It's expensive but worth the money, especially if you have large breasts. picky from USA

I really do like this bra. It's one I was fitted for several years ago and have just continued to purchase this one because it still fits well even though I've had changes in weight and surgery for breast cancer with radiation therapy. The radiation really made a big difference in the size of the affected breast, but this bra still fits well because the cups are a soft jersey material, so the material stays smooth. After watching the videos and measuring, I ordered this bra in a 36F. The cups were too large, but didn't re-order in a smaller cup size because I didn't care for the cup shape/placement -- hard to describe, but think maybe a little too pointy and east/west for me. I like the girls looking fuller and facing more forward with a natural shape! Maybe to give it a fair shot I should have tried an E cup, but didn't want to return and re-order and still not be happy, especially to incur another return cost. It is, however, a well-made and soft bra. If your breasts are naturally rounder/fuller and less pendulous than mine, you might like the look and fit. I ended up happy though with a 36E in the Anita 5468. More expensive, but the fit is worth the extra bucks. TK in Dallas from Dallas, Texas

Very comfortable bra. I had 2 that got stretched out after constant wear and just ordered 3 more. Good support for heavy breasts. Gives a natural shape, and moves with me. Not the sexiest bra with wide straps and no adornment but great for everyday. The only downside is nipple show which is a problem for me in most bras. Dimmrs solves this. I ordered three of the Anita 5490 Rosa Faia Seamless Underwire Bras about a year ago, they were fantastic, the best fitting bra I had ever worn. When I received this black one [same size and style as the ones I had] I immediately cut the tags off-- threw them away rinsed it out by hand-hung it to air dry and a few days later decided to wear it. It does not fit--it's too large in the cup, I assumed they would be the same exact bra I had been wearing for over a year--- well I assumed wrong. I'm still wearing the three I ordered a year ago. This is an extremely comfortable bra, but it's not suited for me. I have it in 30C (maybe I have a slightly different model?), and the straps are just a bit too long, and the band is a little too wide. The looseness causes the cups to wrinkle, especially on one side. The cups would be molded to my shape if not for the loose shoulder straps. I use a clip on the back straps to make this a "t-back" and it's almost perfect, still a little loose around the band. If this came in a 28D, it would be fabulous for comfortable wear under loose clothing. Under tight clothing, and even under regular clothing, my nipples show through all the time. My husband says he can see them even under loose shirts, so I won't wear this bra outside the house; it's too expensive to be a "home bra" only. However, if this fits, it's the most incredibly soft, stretchy, lightweight, cool bra ever. Even the under-wires feel more gentle than some wire-free bras I have. I highly highly recommend trying this bra, and I hope it works for you. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a 28D. Shani A from Phoenix AZ

This is a very nice bra. I had to return it, however, as I ordered the wrong size. I have gained weight and wasn't sure what size to order. I needed a smaller band size and a slightly larger cup size. The bra is very well made, and I would reorder the same bra if it came in the size that I think I need. Ila Jo from Sulphur. OK

Cups are far too small--serious quad boob effect. Has an inner sling that seemed to support. Seamfree, and comfortable enough. Straps are wider over the shoulder then taper a little but are lightly padded. Seems to contain my breasts on the sides which is nice. Champagne is light ivory. Had to return. I returned the bar and am waiting for my refund. (It has only been a week or so) The size was good except for the strap length. I am a 34E but am only 4' 9". Petite sizes don't come with a large enough cup or the padded straps I need. This is a problem I have everywhere.

Anita Response: We are sorry that you didn't liked this bra and that you had trouble with the strap. Our products are not for petite-sizes in special. We try to make them work for as many women as we can and therefore we would have suggested to alter the strap and make them shorter. Once again we are sorry about the strap size. Went to a store to be fitted in Kingsport TN. I always wore a size D but just did not fit properly. Now I wear only Anita products & found out my correct size cup is F. Did not know they made sizes after D cups. Excellent product and great customer Service at the Store that sells Anita products and online @ HerRoom. A little pricy but worth it!! This is probably the best bra I've ever found! The wide straps are so comfortable and actually sit on my shoulder. The cups are smooth and shaping and not too tight. I think the best thing is that the middle of the bra actually fits flat on my chest and is low enough not to show under low cut tops. I just wish they came in more colors. I have a very similar Rosa Faia seamless underwire bra (5694) that fits perfectly so I was excited to see this bra at HerRoom. Unfortunately, this bra's fit was too large in the cups so I'm returning it.

Anita Response: We do apologize for the circumstances. Style 5694 Twin Firm is made of much firmer material therefore you might need a diff. cup size in style 5490 Twin. Anita Rosa Faia Seamless Underwire Bra 5490 is more for comfort than for firmness. It has more strech in the Cup material. Mary from Virginia Beach, VA, USA

I really enjoy this bra. I cannot stand when my breasts are hugging each other (which can be difficult with a large cup size). So, I was a huge fan when I tried this one on. This bra creates a very natural look. My breasts look perky and separated and it is super soft and comfortable! I bought one and liked it so much that I had to get another! I need a bra that is sturdy yet comfortable. This bra has really fit that need! The fabric is soft against your skin, and the way this bra is made really holds the girls up instead of letting them sag as other bras tend to do. Also, the straps don't cut into my shoulders because the weight isn't solely supported by them. The only *slightly* negative thing I have to say about this bra is that the straps have a tendency to slide lower down on my shoulders than I'm used to. They don't completely fall off, just sit at a lower/wider spot on my shoulders. But I am also short (5'1") so that probably contributes to the straps riding down like they do. Overall, I am very pleased with this bra and would buy it again. In fact, I have two of them now! Would recommend!! Amanda from NC, USA

This is now my favorite bra. It took me many attempts to get to the right size, partly because this bra will fit so well around your shape even if it is not the best cup size for you. It is very supportive. The invisible sling both holds me up and holds me in from the sides. The result is a round, current preferred shape, without heavy molding or padding. There is no boning on the sides, so they is no pressure on the rib cage. The under wires are comfortable. The seamless cup is very comfortable and there is minimal nipple show through. If you like a minimalist bra, but want or need great support, this may be the bra for you. Linda from Northern Michigan

Love it! I have a hard time finding a bra with cups that fit at this band size. Most are way too full. This bra stays where it should no matter how I move. The straps stay up, too! Very comfortable. I bought this bra based on the extremely HIGH recommendations it received from other buyers, and because I have several Anita bras that I really do like. This bra was comfortable, but had absolutely ZERO support. I am a very heavy, natural 34H (in Anita) and it is admittedly difficult to find a BOTH supportive and comfortable bra. But this bra had a combination of a stretchy straps and a very soft stretchy cup, so just walking my breasts moved way too much.

Anita Response: The 5490 Twin is one of our best selling bras worldwide, but we apologize that this bra did not provide enough support for you. HerRoom carries many different styles of Anita, so perhaps another style would work for you. Nell from VA, USA

The comfort, fit, and support of this bra are unsurpassed. It's great to find a bra that lifts and enhances my own shape without any padding, molding, or anything that makes me look bigger or rounder. The only reason I gave this bra 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn't conceal the nipples and can't be worn under clingy fabrics. Still, it's worth not having that feature to find such a wonderful bra. Katie from Sunnyvlale, CA

This is my all time favorite bra. I have gotten to a point where I will only wear this bra. It's so comfortable yet supportive. My only concern is that the past few I have purchased the wire split in the middle. Also the bra is very squeaky. It they could fix the squeakiness it would be perfect. I am hoping my new purchases do not break either. Nancy from Norristown, PA USA

I usually wear Fantasie brand but you didn't have my style size, so I tried this one. I admit I am hard to fit, but this bra was very unsatisfactory. I was spilling over the cups and it gave almost no support. This style does not work well for larger bust sizes, at least it didn't for me, so I returned it for a refund. I ordered two other bras, a different style that I want to try for sleeping in, but they are on backorder and no status update has been received. So far, not a great experience with HerRoom.

Anita Response: Our Rosa Faia style #5490 is wear tested by big breasted women of all sizes and meets the standards of the size charts of Hohenstein Textile Institute. If the breasts bulge out, the chosen bra size is too small. We recommend to use our sizing chart to find the right size. Janis from Trussville, AL, USA

Way too small coverage for an H cup. not even close for full breasts which I have recently realized I have, not just big, but FULL. Boo hoo

HerRoom Response: Many manufacturers call their sizes differently. So, a H cup in one brand may not be a H cup in another. This is why we have a great Brand Comparison Chart for you to find your correct cup size.

Anita Response: If you want a similar one and a smooth cup then you can go for the Alicia bra 5690 - it is a stronger material and only one layer and made of super-microfiber. For more coverage I also suggest from our comfort line 5448 soft bra or 5460 underwired bra or 5454 underwired bra. Lisa from Cinti, OH usa

This is the one. I tried them all on, thanks to Her Room, and when I put this one on it was me. I like a seamless bra that moves with me and I am hard to fit because I need a longer strap. The straps on Anita are just long enough, the elastic above the cup makes it fit like a dream. The elastic in the back not only prevents the strap movement but also balances the tension with the bottom of the bra improving comfort. It feels like I don't have anything on! Overall a very good bra. Easy to fasten and very comfortable. The only bra I like to wear. My one complaint is that the straps won't tighten enough and they fall off my shoulders!

HerRoom Response: Appreciate your feedback. Another reason your straps might be falling off is because your cup size is too big - you are not filling out the top of the cups and this can cause the straps to fall down too. MeMe from Oklahoma City, OK

For me, this one's better than most. Comfortable, lightweight, not bulky, but still provides decent support. Shoulder straps are wide, which is helpful (I know the frame of a bra rather than the straps is supposed to provide most of the support, but in my case there's still a fair amount of weight on the straps in every style of bra I try). This is likely to become a go-to everyday bra for me. One small thing I'd subtract a fraction of a star for if I could: like most bras, the outer edges of the cup & strap cut or rubs in the front of my armpit/shoulder area. I had to think long and hard about spending $65 dollars for a bra. Today that is a lot of money. But I sure got my money's worth. Finally a bra that fits me around the rib cage in a B cup. Up to now I had to order too large a cup to get the right size. But more important, the underwire is not as big as other bras so it doesn't poke me under the arms or in the ribcage. I love the leotard back! Keeps the straps from sliding down. Some bras with leotard backs come up too close to the neck so the straps show with some shirts - not this bra. Concept is great . The straps dug into my shoulders (straps too short) and caused neck and headaches. I really like this company but their bras do not work for a small frame with large cup sizes. I returned this item because it pushed by breasts down and out rather than up and forward. This bra is made of thin material, and I prefer cups with a little more structure. However, I've come to realize that bras just fit people differently, and what did not fit me well, may fit someone else. So read these reviews with a grain of salt. Heather from Provo, UT

I searched the web and found a site but couldn't order because it wasn't in English. I was thrilled to finally find HerRoom. I'll never have to be without this bra again. It's the only bra I have found that provides the support I need comfortably. The straps don't dig into my shoulders and the cups keep me from looking huge. I had really high hopes for this bra. I have been wearing the Donna Karen 35146 exclusively for 10 years, and they stopped making the bra in 2007 (I cried!!) and have been looking for a suitable replacement ever since. Her Room suggested this one and, it has a lot of the things I want- NO padding (why does every bra have to have padding??), very supportive, soft, and comfortable. BUT, the straps are hideous! They are so thick- it makes me feel like I'm wearing a sports bra or "boulder holder". The back is super thick as well (3 or four hooks?) There is absolutely no feeling feminine in this bra. So, I returned it. I am continuing to look for a NO padding, underwire, supportive and feminine bra. Not sure why it's so hard to find/make!! I wish Donna Karen would make these bras again- I'd buy 100 to last me the rest of my life! Terra from CA

This has been a great bra for me, as I am very difficult to fit. This is an extremely comfortable bra that I could actually make the bands short enough so it doesn't slip off my shoulder. The support is great for me and I am very pleased with the shape it gives me. The only tiny glitch was the first one I purchased locally was made in Serbia and it fits perfectly. The one I purchased here was made in Portugal and it is slightly more generous in the cups and band, but not enough for me to go crazy about it. It still fits, but I notice the difference. I will certainly purchase more of these bras through HerRoom where their service and prices are great. Patti from NH

I agonized over this bra, but finally returned it. Putting it on felt really good, the band size was perfect, but the cups were just a bit too small, leaving me feeling like I was wearing a sports bra, and with a bit of bulge at the cleavage and on top. The straps and band were a nice width, and didn't cut at all, which is rare. I would have happily exchanged it for one with slightly larger cups, but unfortunately, the one I had already maxed out the style. I really liked the smooth fabric, though I would point out that the "seamless" cups don't quite apply to the larger cup sizes - the "support panel" for the larger cup sizes is actually seamed inside the cups. That said, the seams are unbelievably smooth and itch-free - and I'm picky about such things. Meredith from Newport, RI USA

Very comfortable bra! Like wearing nothing. Fits perfectly, I am pregnant and it is so nice to have a comfortable bra. I'm top heavy and have a difficult time finding a bra that fits. These bras not only fit but are comfortable everyday bras that will work well under knits (t-shirts) this summer. They give me a more softer rounded shape rather than a pointed bullet shape that most larger bras provide. The only reason that I didn't rate it higher was that they aren't pretty they are basic t-shirt bras. Karen

This bra is super comfortable. The problem is that it is not supportive in the cup. The cup is made of a very soft and stretchy material. For a larger breasted lady like myself, I didn't like the feeling that my 'girls' were just poked through some wire support and just hanging there free. Even for just everyday use the cups were too 'soft' for me. Too bad the cup material isn't more supportive. Leah from United States

I've worn this particular bra for years, and once upon a time, they wore like iron. The second-to-last bunch of them I bought were ready to be retired after a year or less. I just bought four more in the same size as last time, and my straps are constantly falling down. (I don't believe I myself have changed size.) The cups do also tend to pucker rather than conform to their contents. I used to like this bra a lot, but next time I buy bras, I'm going to choose something different.

HerRoom Response: This bra was introduced in September of 2006. It's possible you have been wearing a different style. A common cause for straps falling down off the shoulders is when women start loosing their breast fullness and a hollow space above their breasts starts appearing. Your symptoms sound lik eyou need a smaller cup size. Linda from San Francisco, CA USA

This is, hands down, the most comfortable bra I have ever had. When I put it on for the first time I didn't want to take it off. (Didn't ever think I'd say THAT about a bra!) The fabric is stretchy, so there's a little bounce when I walk, but at the same time I feel supported. I also appreciate the nickel-free hardware, since I am allergic to nickel. No more constant itching! The only reason I didn't give this bra 5 stars is that it stretches out quickly. After one week it is still returning to its original size when I wash it, but I'm a little concerned because it was expensive and I need it to last.

Note: I was curious what the more reinforced version of this bra would be like, so I ordered a 36E (equivalent to 36DD). This had the same size underwires as my 38D with reinforced cups, slightly wider straps, and side boning under the arms. These features made the bra even more comfortable for me, but the 36 was too snug in the band, and a 38E would be too big. If any Anita reps read these reviews -- please consider adding the extra support features to D cups as well! We could really use them. Heidi

It's true that this is not the most supportive bra, but since I sit at a desk all day, I don't need a lot of support. My main priority is comfort, and this is a comfortable bra. By the end of a long day, I'm still pretty happy to take it off, but I'm not in tears by lunch time. The bra does push breast tissue out to the sides, so looking down, the apex of my boobs is about an inch to the right of center and, looking forward, my boobs appear very wide. That's fine, though - again, comfort is my main priority and this bra does the trick. I will probably buy more, especially if they expand the range of available colors. Jennifer from Chicago, IL, USA

This bra is made for comfort! But, if you have large, heavy, pendulous breasts, do not look to it for support and lift. The stretch cups, again, very comfortable, do not lift and support large, heavy breasts. If you have average, perky breasts that are still up where they should be, this would be an excellent choice, although, in my opinion, this bra is terribly overpriced. Five stars for comfort, one star for no support and lift of the heavily endowed woman. Katrina from Northern Heartland

Most comfortable bra. Had one many years ago and saved it for traveling. Thrilled that I found it online and have ordered several. Prefer no bra at home, but this one doesn't bother me. Good support on sides, soft, and great all around. RNS from Westport, CT usa

Manufacturer needs to improve quality control. I am a previous purchaser of this style of bra, and the same thing happened both times -- the band size varies widely. I'm talking about 3 inches! The first time, all three bras had to be sent back (I'd purchased them through a boutique, so took the bras in, showed them the problem, and they handled it). The replacement bras fit fine. This time, of the three bras I ordered, one fit perfectly, one acceptably (the band is a bit tighter, and the cups seem to be cut a little lower or skimpier or something, so there's a slight bulge at the cleavage -- something not present in the "perfect" bra). The third bra was between two and three inches shorter in the band, so I sent it back. I'm hopeful the replacement will fit. Please note that I went back to the boutique to be measured before ordering the bras; the fitting consultant at the boutique didn't know how long it might take them to get the bras, due to orders on backorder, so gave me your web address so I could order them myself. I was delighted that I was able to save $18 per bra.

When I can get a bra that fits properly, I'm delighted. And the Anita 5490 is the best solution I've found -- on both visits, it was the only one in the boutique that really fit me right, and I love the soft, non-itchy fabric and the seamless cups. Now if they can just improve the consistency of their product, so that one 44C is the same as the next, I'll be a customer for life.

HerRoom Response: Thank you for your comment. We have forwarded it on to Anita. Jeanne from Fairfield, OH, USA

This bra is smooth and does not poke or pinch. Thin blouses require using dimrs or a similar product. The fabric curls under the underwire at the sides of the cups. And the shoulder straps constantly have to be hiked up because they move almost off my shoulders (because they are attached to the band at a bad angle). I wish the straps were attached to the band at a 90 degree angle so that this would not be a problem. It also makes it impossible to wear with tank tops because the straps show out the sides. Anita could improve this one so easily and make it into the perfect bra if they would fix this. I also wish they would make a racerback version. Jennifer from Tampa, FL USA

After ordering no less than $500.00 in different sizes and styles of bras I came across this wonderful Anita 5490 bra. The comfort is awesome and it puts the "girls" where they use to be!! The cup has a very natural shape. After returning the last batch of mis-fits, I've ordered 3 more of this one. I would highly recommend that you at least give this one a try. It's not fancy but certainly does the job and looks wonderful under blouses, tee shirts and knits. I give this bra an A+++! Suzanne from Bel Air, MD

This bra has very smooth and soft fabric, I love it for the feel, but it just doesn't fit me right. It doesn't give me the perky look that I would like. I agree with others that the breasts seem to tend to stick out more to the sides - it just doesn't seem to hold me up very well and with my size that is what I am looking for. Also the band for me has been to loose and the cups don't seem to cover well in my size, I end up having a double boob effect on top of everything else, just not pretty. The perfect size would be a 30 with bigger cup size which isn't available. As much as I love the fabric of this bra and the seamless effect it mostly has, I will continue looking for something that works better for me. susanne from delaware

This bra is comfortable for the most part. The wide straps are great and it is smooth under clothing and does not poke or bunch. It lifts and separates nicely. It has one very irritating feature: the shoulder straps are attached to the back of the band so that they slant away from the spine and feel like they are going to come off my shoulder (and they show out the sides of some tank tops). The problem would be solved if they were attached at a 90 degree angle to the band and set closer to the midline of the body. I also wish the band had another hook tighter (there are only two sets of hooks). If I get smaller band size, it will be too tight (based on my experience with the 5444). Overall, this is a good bra. Hopefully Anita will make it even better soon. Jennifer from Tampa, FL USA

I was really excited about this bra because it was listed in the "petite fit" section and is made of a wonderful soft fabric and had nice, wide straps. I put it on and it felt comfortable - but looked hideous. My breasts are wide, round, and pendulous more than they are pointy, and this bra seemed to line up the center with the outside of my rib cage. The cups were the right size, but they didn't seem to hold me up. It's just not the right bra for me. Diana from Kansas

Previous reviews helped me decide to try this bra. First time I've ever tried a new brand that I liked. Supremely comfortable. The cups aren't huge, like most large cup bras tend to be and the underwire doesn't dig into my under arm. I ordered one in white, one in tan. Probably won't order another white but the tan color is a definite future buy because it doesn't show under sheer tops and extra wide arm hole openings. Kathleen from Sonoma County, California

Good fit, I like the fact that the wide fabric straps extend over the top of the shoulder which makes the bra very comfortable. The underwires, however, do "squeak" (quite loudly) if you are stretching your arms. Indira from Providence, RI

Pros: The material is very soft and the bra has no itchy edges and feels very comfortable.
Cons: It is not supportive enough and did not hold up my breasts in place. The bra is also rather stretchy so probably will not last long.
I wish it had the extra support panels in the larger cup sizes and less stretch. Best for casual wearing. Rainee from Baltimore

This is a basic, good fitting bra, but with poor color choices. The champagne is really cream and there is no skin or nude color offered -- that would be my preference. In addition, the cups are thinly lined, so nipple show-thru is all but a sure thing. The support is good and the straps stay put. Lisa from Bethesda, MD

Fit is quite good; I'm a little different cup size on one side than the other; fabric does wrinkle just a bit on the smaller size, could use more stretch but then it wouldn't be as supportive as it is, I guess. Comfort is pretty good (my favorite bra is a stretchy pull over camisole by Elite Plus, which has no wires and no hardware, but of course the support on that isn't as good.) So I am giving this Anita 5490 a 4 star rather than a 5 for the comfort factor. My skin has gotten very sensitive as I get older, and the bra band and hardware are a little itchy for me (which is why I tend to wear the Elita camisole which has no hardware at all and is very, very soft). But for a supportive underwire bra, this Anita 5490 is the best I've found. HerRoom is a great resource; it's so easy to order, and they are so accommodating about returns for things that don't fit. I tried a 36D in a local store but was disappointed in the support so I ordered a 36E from HerRoom because I knew that the larger size had an extra support panel in the cup. Sadly the cup was too large. I do not understand why this brand does not consider a 36D a large enough size to warrant the extra support panel. It was the most comfortable bra I ever tried on except it really needed that extra support panel. I sure hope they realize this and make the change to it. I would buy a drawer full if they did. This bra is very soft and comfortable, gives good support, and looks great under clothes (even clingy clothes). However, I don't see it as being the workhorse of my bra collection--it just doesn't seem to be as durable as some of the others I own. For the larger-busted women who were disappointed with this bra--I agree that the Goddess brand is probably a better choice, and I would highly suggest seeking the assistance of a professional bra fitter. My bra fitter has an excellent assortment of makes and models, she just doesn't necessarily carry a certain bra in all colors, so after being fitted for one in person I go out on the web to order other colors in the same exact bra/size. (BTW, I was up to a 40G when I was pregnant/nursing, so I know the frustrations of trying to find a decent bra for truly large-busted women.) Linda from Birmingham, Michigan, USA

I was rather disappointed by the fit of this bra. Although it was very soft and comfortable, it sets the "girls" very far apart and downward. I felt this item was not true to size at all! It was too small and I was disappointed especially after reading all the positive reviews.

HerRoom Response: If you wear a size H in Goddess or Lane Bryant, the cups on Anita and many other brands will be too small. After a D cup, many manufacturers change the sizing. We have a great chart to help with this. Please click on the following link: http://www.herroom.com/full-figure-bra-cup-sizing,905,30.html

Amazingly comfortable, seamless bra. Great under any clothing and offers good support. The wide straps are great for a larger bust as they don't dig in, like narrower straps can. I just bought another, in skin colour, as i am so happy with the fit. My only issue is, I have the straps adjusted to the shortest length, as i am petite. So, as the straps stretch, i will probably need to get them shortened by a dressmaker. fiona from australia

Exceptionally comfortable - not something you can say about many bras in my size. Granted, it is not super supportive, but there are other bras available for that. It is perfect under t-shirts or thin fabrics. In my opinion, the cup size runs a tad small, so be aware if you are close to being between sizes. This bra also seems to be very well-made. This is THE best bra that I have ever worn (and I'm 45!). I have purchase 3 of these over the last year and would just like to address the previous comments about the fabric stretching. First, when you purchase the bra make sure its fits best on the tightest hooks, then as it inevetiably stretches you will have a snugger hook to go to, and please make sure you adjust the shoulder straps periodically, as this will give you more support. Second and probably most important, you MUST wash your bras by hand in cold water, with a detergent made for delicates and NEVER, NEVER, put your bra into the drier, air dry. Last but not least, rotate your bras, never wear the same bra two days in a row, these steps will help you get more life out of your expensive bras.

HerRoom Response: We couldn't have said it any better. Thank you.

This is an update to my February review. After wearing this bra for about two months, I've found that it has stretched out A LOT! When I first purchased it in a 34D, it fit perfectly (better than any bra I've ever owned). Unfortunately, it is now so big in the band that it's riding up in the back and I don't feel like I'm getting much support. I might try ordering it in a smaller band size but I'm not sure yet. I really wanted this bra to work because it's so comfortable. Aimee from CA

This is by far the most comfortable bra I've ever owned. The fabric is wonderful and the straps are wide and cushioned. I also love the wide comfortable band and the color selection is great too! The only concern I have is that maybe the fabric stretches to the point that it affects the support I'm getting (it's very stretchy). Despite this, I will definitely purchase again because the comfort level can't be beat. This bra definitely moves with you and is perfect for everyday wear. Aimee from Sonora, CA

Only bra I've been able to find that fits me, being a bigger gal with smaller breasts. The band size I need in a B cup is hard to find, and the stretch microfiber of the cups provides for no wrinkling.
