What is the bra size 38G? The bra size 38G bra can represent 2 very different bra sizes.Read more...
Bra brands that use USA and Europe sizing such as Wacoal, Vanity Fair and Chantelle, use the bra size 38G to represent the now defunct 38DDDD bra size, while UK brands such as Fantasie and Panache call this size a 38F. Then, the UK 38G bra size represents a bra size two cup sizes larger (a 38I in USA and Europe sizing). No wonder women can become confused and frustrated when trying to find their true 38G bra size. But, problem solved! HerRoom has the solution with our exclusive Universal Cup sizing™ (UCS®). Cup sizes G (USA & EU) and F (UK) combined are equal to a UCS® D4 cup size. You can simply search 38D4 at HerRoom and you'll find all the bras, swimwear, shapewear and more that come in your size. And, a UK 38G and USA/European 38I combined is a UCS® 38D6.
A common question asked by 38G bra sized women is this: "What is my sister size?" Every bra size has a set of sister sizes. These are bra sizes where either the band, cup or both are just one size up or down from 38G. For example, a USA 38G bra size has sister sizes of 36H and 40DDD. A European 38G bra size has sister sizes of 36H and 40F. And a UK 38G has sister sizes of 36FF and 40E. The one thing in common is that all these sizes have the same cup size (when you go up a band size, you need to go down a cup size to maintain your cup volume) but different band sizes. A 36H and 36FF will have a smaller band than a 38G, and a 40DDD and 40E will have a larger band than a 38G. If a 38G (D4) bra size fits you, this generally means your under bust measurement is 36 to 39 inches and your over bust measurement at its fullest point is 44 to 46 inches. And in a 38G (D6), your underbust would be 36 to 38 inches and your breast apex measurement would be 46 to 48 inches.
Bra size 38G (D4) is 85G in Europe and Japan, 38F in UK (UK 38G is a US38I), 100G in France, and 16G in Australia.
