CAMISOLE
Camisoles were originally designed to be worn over a bra for modesty and to eliminate a bra's cup seams from showing. Today, they are worn as outerwear as well as underwear. You should have one lacy and one plain style. They are great under itchy sweaters. Camisoles can also add some warmth in winter and are much more grown-up than old-fashioned undershirts.

HALF SLIP
Half slips have two styles today - gathered at the waist with elastic, or made out of stretch microfiber with no waistband. The latter provides a totally smooth look under tight-fitting skirts. Worn under sheer skirts, it reduces transparency. Beneath unlined skirts, it prevents chafing and gives a smooth look. Half slips in lengths of mid thigh, top of kneecap and mid calf should cover most fashion requirements. However, if you like short fashions, you'll love having a 12" half slip handy.

FULL SLIP
The slip seems to have turned into an outergarment these days. However, they were designed for a very important purpose - to reduce transparency under sheer dresses, or to prevent chafing or clinging under unlined dresses. The full slip has the added benefit of acting as an underpinning under a suit. You've probably noticed in movies that when a woman is not in clothes, they have her running around or talking on the telephone in a slip. It's simply a very classy and sexy piece of lingerie that never goes out of style. One lacy slip and one plain style slip should cover most needs.
