Timpa Duet Lace Underwire Demi Bra 16449 Reviews

I immediately got online and purchased this bra after reading about it in the NY Times, 9/2/10 edition. I'm very small 'up there' and wanted a bra that wasn't a push up. Why do bra manufacturers always assume that small breasts need to be artificially made to look large? I like what I look like and only wanted to have a little support. I really hoped this would be the bra that worked. but it wasn't at all. First, it is extremely demi, such that it is cut really low in the front. I could have gotten past that if it fit well, but it did not. It was too tight across the 36 part, too nothing on the "a" part. I'm returning it, disappointed and still looking for that magic bra that works.

Timpa Response: Absolutely, per the comments it seems to me you need size 38B bra. Usually clients think the 36A would fit but in the Timpa you would be a 38B as the sizes run small on purpose, as it is a petite line. I hope you will try the 38B. tricia from cazenovia, ny

This fits my very small bust, and I think it would fit a large range of sizes because the cups are so stretchy. The underwire aspect of it seems completely superfluous, although reasonably comfortable as underwires go. Lisa from CO

The band size was way to tight. I am usually 38 but this was painfully tight. The cups are also a bit odd. While I did order up a cup size since it's a small bra type (and it is very small), I somewhat fit in lower part of the cup, but the upper portion I didn't fill out so it gaped a bit. It is very see through and doesn't cover much - so be aware.

Timpa Response:I would suggest that you probably need to go to a 40A in the duet lace. Unfortunately Timpa doesn’t make it in that size. The fit on the cotton demi would be much better for you since its is more stretchy - Timpa style 00001 . I would suggest to order a 38A, as it should fit you perfectly. Kim from LA, CA

I love this bra! Its extremely comfortable and very feminine looking. Since it's lacy, I expected it to show underneath my white t-shirts, but I was wrong. It makes for a great t-shirt bra. Absolutely love this bra; but it does fit small so I returned it for a 38A and unfortunately, the underwire is still digging into my outer breast. I will have to return it, but wish it fit; so pretty - you just don't find a bra like this very often. Material is soft, color great - oh well :( Nancy from OKC OK USA

I normally wear a 32 C and find that demi-cup bras fit me the best. After reading the reviews on this site, I tried it in a 34 C and 36 C. The 36 C felt the best, but not well enough to keep the bra. Overall, it just didn't fit and flatter my body. MAG from usa

very nice bra for 34AA. take everyone's advice & go up one band size! it's rare to find one that fits well & helps keep nipples a little more hidden, as this does. the demi cup is sweet & feminine, & works well even if you are set a bit wider than most. the straps are set far apart, so they will stay hidden in wide-necked tops. the way these are sewn is slightly inconsistent, so it may take a couple of tries (the black fit well but i had to order a second beige), but it's worth the trouble. i'm happy to have found this bra! & i'll probably come back for more. thanks again. t park from nc, usa

This is such a cute little bra! I decided to try it thanks to Tomima's Tips, which are wonderful and very helpful. It fits my nearly A's perfectly, giving them a fabulous shape and surprising lift. I like this bra. Though the cups aren't super supportive, the underwire still makes me feel supported. It's pretty snug around the chest, like other commenters have noted, but not uncomfortably so. After reading other comments about sizing, I wasn't sure what to do. I ended up ordering my normal size and was happy that it fit well. Very sexy, light coverage. Nipples will show if wearing a tighter tee. Almost feels like you're not wearing a bra. I was looking for something that provided just a bit of support to make small breast lift just a tad. Oh, yes, it runs small. Just like everybody said. I'm a 38A, but there is no 40A to try, so I'm out of luck. The bra is attractive, but don't get it if you need a lot of support. Maia from Oregon

Love it ! I'm built like the woman in the photo. I don't need support. The bra just adds nice shaping and sexy lace. I like that the bra is all me not padding. I wish more of the bras which fit A and AA had small breasted women modeling them. I would like to be able to search your bra selection for un-padded bras fitting 34 A and AA. I have been wearing basic wireless style for ages, but I wanted something a bit more supportive and grown-up looking. I dislike wire and padded bras, even those with a thin foam lining. After reading the glowing reviews of the Timpa Duet, I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered a 34B, a 36B, and a 36C. The 36B is the clear winner. 34B (my true size) fit a bit tight on the band and my girls barely fit inside the cups, even though the fabric is very stretchy and accommodating. Lots of nip-slip! 36C was too gappy. 36B fits perfectly with the 2nd hook fastened, and my nips stay just inside the edge of the bra without falling out. Still, the support is a little less than I would like - I definitely have some jiggle action in this bra, then again I much prefer that to my breasts standing perfectly immobile and at attention! Four stars for that. Otherwise everything about this bra is perfect. The shape it gives is beautiful - a little uplift and roundness but still very natural and "my own". It's totally seamless; I was thinking the lace on the edge would look a little lumpy under T's, but that is not the case. So comfortable I hardly know it's there, yet sexy and grown-up too. I'll definitely order more - next time trying the 36A to see if the support is more "right" for me. Juliana from Savannah
