Sometimes it seems there are two thong camps: either love 'em or hate 'em. Then there are women who've never tried a thong, assuming they'd be too uncomfortable. But with today's low-rise clothing styles and clingy fabrics, a low-rise thong may become your best friend. True, many say thongs aren't as comfortable as a brief, but other women find them perfectly comfortable. Either way, they not only solve a fashion problem, but are also downright sexy.

Low-rise styles sit well below the waist. They have a rise measurement from waist to the first horizontal seam of less than 5 inches, which is more than an inch lower than briefs. The v-shaped rear panel tapers to a narrow band, sometimes only the width of a string, which leaves the rear exposed. The look is flattering on lots of body types and it leaves no panty lines at all. Some styles have wide sides, 2-3 inches high, while others are a G-string style with sides about 1/4'" tall.

Stretch lace thongs are very popular--they're soft and pretty with just the right amount of stretch to hug the body. Other fabrics include lightweight mesh, super-fine smooth cotton thongs, and sheer lacy styles. Even if you think you're not a fan of thongs, try a low-rise style--you might find they'll become a lingerie necessity.
