Although initially pantyhose were seamed because there was no other way to fabricate them, seamed stockings have become a symbol of retro glamour and sexiness. During the silk shortage in World War II, women even drew a seam along the back of their legs to make it appear that they were wearing stockings. Today, we can choose from many different styles. Seamed thigh-highs are available in an ultra-sheer weight, in textures such as fishnet or striped and with or without garters. Most are held up by a band of material around the top of the leg that has silicone tape or grippers. There also styles that use garter belts and garters to attach stockings. When you're in the mood for a little glam, seamed stockings will add just the right touch.
