My bra size has been 38C for more than 20 years, but even so I confirmed it by following the step-by-step fitting instructions on this site before ordering this Spanx bra. When it arrived I tried it on right away and it fit perfectly and was AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE – so I cut off the tags and started wearing it daily. However, after the first 4-5 days of wear, I realized that the back band was starting to stretch and loosen up, and the bra was starting to ride up. After about 10 days of wear I found myself constantly tugging and pulling it back down – the band had stretched to the point of being too big and would not stay put.

Because I’d worn my bra I could no longer return it, but I loved the feel of it so much that I ordered another with a smaller band size - 36C. Going down a band size solved the problem, and this one fits me perfectly – no more tugging and pulling. I’m not happy in the least that it cost me $62 to find my right size, but I do love the bra and would recommend it to anyone, with the cautionary advice that the band fabric could possibly stretch to the point of being too big.

HerRoom Response: Thank you for your feedback. However, we feel this bra has a very accurate fit. One point to be made is that a bra should never be worn day-after-day. You should have 3 bras that you rotate between. A bra needs time to bounce back to it's normal shape. It should also be washed after a few wearings as well. But, we are delighted that you found a size that works for you. Toni from Boise

Too expensive, I feel taken advantaged off, because I cannot close in back

HerRoom Response: The images and the photo demonstrate that this is a front closure bra. Erling from IL

In another store it was recommended I go up a size since this runs small; too big! It seemed okay but I am a nurse and active. Buy your size! I should have stuck with the 36C! Sue from USA

I love this bra! It's the only one that does not irritate my skin in any way. It is very comfortable and the front clasp is so easy to use. I cannot imagine ever using another bra. Rosemary from Solvang, CA

Is there no size D's in this bra????

HerRoom Response: D cups are coming in 2011. Update: Spanx informed us January 2011 that there are no plans to expand into D cup sizes. Dana from Port Washington

The tough thing about buying a bra is that you need to wear it to judge how well you like it. Saying that, my only complaint so far is that the "wires" on the sides of the bra seem to stick out and I catch my arm on them sometimes. Also, as others have commented, adjustable straps would be good. Everything else seems to feel and fit wonderfully. Donna from PA/USA

Great fit, but should have adjustable straps. Rides up because I am tall, 5'7". Claree from Cincinnati

The straps slip off my shoulders because there is no way to adjust them.

HerRoom Response: Thank you for your feedback. WE note that you claim to be petite in stature. All Spanx bras have non-adjusting straps. This is why Tomima called this out in her tip. If you are petite or tall, Spanx bras will probably not work for you. pam from marietta, pa

Very comfortable bra. Does ride up in the back though. Maybe go smaller on the number size?

HerRoom Response: Yes, when a bra is riding up your back, you need to go down a band size. If the cups fit you in the 36C, you need to go up a cup size on the 34 band size. So, try this bra in a 34D. Glenda from Fort Mill, SC USA

I recently had heart surgery with access thru my ribs on the right side, which was incredibly painful. I had been going braless until I found this fabulous bra. Very comfortable over my incision. I am very happy with this product and may never go back to an underwire. April from Houston, Tx

I had major spine surgery in January 2009, in the lower thoracic area -- right under my bra strap. This bra is perfect because there is no closure in the back, no hooks or pressure on that area of my spine. My incision area is still sensitive, although entirely healed. I think that I will NEVER return to a back closure bra in my remaining life! Elizabeth from Scottsdale, AZ USA

This is a fabulously comfortable bra that does not "show" beneath my clothing. For 9 months of the year, I live in Arizona (dry heat) and this slightly padded (not embellished or push-up) bra is comfortable in the heat. We will see how I feel when we go to northwest Iowa to our summer lake house, where the temperature is normally in the 80's an 90's and the humidity around 95%. Sticky, sweaty, grungy, from the minute one gets out of bed. In that climate, I suspect I will be wishing that Spanx makes a non-padded bra with the same contour and design! elizabeth b from scottsdale az usa

I first tried this bra in a 34A, which is my normal size, and found the band kept riding up. So I tried a 32A and 32 B, which both fit better, however, they did not offer much lift or shaping -- the mostly flattened, like a sports bra. This bra is comfortable and the back is nice and smooth. The 32A was the best fit for me, but wasn't good enough to justify the high price so I returned them all. Lorrie from Pittsburgh

I wasn't able to adjust the straps. The straps were not sturdy enough therefore I had too much jiggle and not enough support. Otherwise, the fabric felt great and had enough padding. Tiffany from MS

Maybe I have fatter armholes, but this bra did not help as much as other brands I have. It is very comfortable however. Just not my favorite. Diane from Honolulu

This bra was recommended to me by a friend for its comfort value. I ordered my usual size, both size and cup. It is a very comfortable bra and I will order another but in the next size down because it rides up a bit under my breasts. I also worry that it will stretch out and be too big. Cup size was right on and it really is very comfortable. Carolyn from Newburgh,NY,USA

It is a very comfortable bra, looks good but the straps do seem to be too long...I am keeping it but I wish they would come with different options for that length. AC from New York, NY

I really love it. It is indeed so soft and comfortable. It has a tendency to ride up a bit under my breasts, but it is not uncomfortable. I will be ordering two more! Rosemary from Los Angeles

I love this thing. I have a long torso, and I'd read comments on other sites about "long torsos beware", since the straps are not adjustable, but I love it! It's not riding up on me. It's just great. There is no metal anywhere- just the plastic clasp at the front. And wireless. Awesome! Amy from Detroit, Michigan, USA
