When it comes to sports bras, the most common and popular construction is wire-free with soft cups. Sports bras rely on two methods--sometimes a combination of both--to provide support: compression which presses breasts to the chest, and encapsulation, which separates each breast and holds them in place individually. Compression bras are suited to smaller cups sizes. For larger sizes, soft-cup sports bras with encapsulation construction will offer more support.
Wireless bras come in a multitude of styles and for all exercise levels. They may have racerback construction, which creates additional back support and allows for great freedom of movement. Some will be front-closing, with a series of hook-and-eye closures or zipper. Although slightly harder to take on and off, pull-over soft cup sports bras continue to be very popular.
