Although soft-cup bras were traditionally the realm of sports bras, maternity bras and bras for teens, almost any bra size and type can now be found in a wirefree style. High-tech stretch fabrics can offer a good deal more support than older soft-cup bras had, which is why there are a fair amount of full-figure wireless bras on the market. Sizes 32-36DD and 38-42C-DD and up are considered full-figure sizes, worn by more than half of American women.
Soft cup full figure wireless bras are typically designed with a double layer of support to compensate for not having underwires. In full figure sizes it may also have wider straps, additional clasps and leotard back. Even without underwire, there will often be an elastic underband below the cups for additional comfort and support. The cups may also be molded for a perfectly smooth look under clothes.
