I really like these! I ordered one size smaller than the size chart and they fit perfectly. The legs don't roll up and the rise is low-ish/modern without being plumber-crackish. I wear these under skirts/dresses/tight yoga-type pants. You can kind of tell where the leg line is under tight yoga pants, but not a big deal-much better than panty line or something creeping up... I'm happy and will order a few more. The fabric is starting to pill a tiny bit around the thighs after a couple of wears, but it's not very noticeable and I love everything else about these. I cold water machine wash and hang to dry. The fabric is comfy and breathable. B from TX

I own three of these in nude and one in black. I used to buy spandex versions of men's boxer briefs to wear under skirts and summer dresses, but I like these so much better. My first pair pilled a little after a few washings so I decided to not put my new ones in the dryer, so far they haven't pilled. I think the newer ones are of a slightly different fabric as they also don't ride up at all while my first pair did every once and a while. All in all, these are the best things to wear under summer dresses and skirts. Britt from Baltimore, MD

Smart Pants, a little too low cut for me, they do fit not very snug as far as really holding anything in. Denise from Melbourne, Fl

I love the wicking fabric. The weight/thinness of the fabric is awesome. I wish the waist was a little higher. The stitching irritated my skin, but I just turned them inside out. I had a bit of trouble with the legs riding up, but I think a size smaller would fix that problem. Since I am a full figured woman it was extremely nice having the opportunity to wear them in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on my vacation with some pretty summer dresses. With 100% humidity & 108 degrees, my undies were the onlycomfortable item of clothing I had to wear. I generally wear nylon pettipants, but they are so hot & irritate my skin. I have extremely tender/sensitive skin when it comes to materials, stitching, tags, seams. The Smarty Pants Panties prevented my thighs from sticking together and prevente chafing in hot and humid weather. Overall, I would wear these undies often even with pants. I was looking for something to wear under skirts to avoid the "inner thigh rub" and these are perfect! I especially like the fact that they are cut a bit lower on top so they don't peek out above your skirts and they come in several colors. They don't pinch at the leg or on the hips but I did end up ordering a size smaller than I usually wear because they were a bit loose in the Large. Cara from CT

PERFECT for yoga and biking and hiking. I was on the border between sizes and sized up. Only after I wore them did I go to the Smarty Pants website to discover that they recommend sizing down if you are in between. My next pair will be medium Shopper from Vermont

"I LOVE my Smarty Pants! I really appreciate my Smarty Pants and rely on them to keep me dry and comfy when I'm skiing through snow, slush, and pure unadulterated, awesome powder. Last season, I wore them every time I skied - for hours on end. The Smarties also make going to the bathroom easier, because for some reason I can pull the Smarty Pants, thermal, fleece and ski pants down in one fell swoop; with underwear I have to peal each layer off individually (go figure). Plus of course, they're very comfortable, stretchy and breathable. I love the black colour, as all my fleece/ski gear is black although I want to try the gray colour as well. I think all ski divas should be able to experience the pleasure of wearing Smarty Pants. I’m going to tell all the gals I know about them and spread the good word. Congrats on a fabulous product! Finally, a “smart” underwear!" Joanie from Toronto

Very comfortable and fit well. I love the soft strechy fabric. I wear these under skirts when I want to ride my bike around and make sure I don't accidently show a little more leg than I intended! I discovered a fantastic new purpose when I wore them under my snow pants on the slopes. Kelley from Cupertino, CA

I love these! They are exactly what I was looking for. I have read tons of articles regarding how you can wear a skirt in the summer time when your thighs touch and still be comfortable. I've tried it all and I really just need a fabric barrier. These fit the bill! And are SO comfortable! Becky

These panties were cut in a weird way - too high up in front and too low in back. There is also not very much stretch to them, so they felt baggy after a day. Not a good choice.

Smarty Pants Response: Thanks for sharing your review with us. This is the first time Smarty Pants has had any negative comment about the cut of this item. If you feel they were cut too low in back, it may be that you had them on backwards or that your backside is large in proportion to your body. If they were baggy, they may have been too large in size yet the low back would indicate otherwise. A lack of stretch has never been any issue, as the garment contains 10% spandex - well above industry standard for an undergarment. Elizabeth from New York

These feel 4-5 inches above my knees so remained hidden even while seated in knee-length dresses, and provided ample coverage even though I have wide hips and full thighs. I do wish they were more generous in the seat, because while the front panel rises to my actual waist, the back panel does not, which resulted in the shorts gradually sliding down my legs throughout the day and the constant need for readjustment when I'm running around. I do not believe it is a sizing issue because the shorts fit well at rest with no uncomfortable compression or slippage. This single feature is the reason I'm giving three stars instead of five. They are super-comfortable and low-profile, but hiking up my pants all the time defeats the purpose of shorts for added comfort and security while active. If you sit in a chair most of the day or have a smaller rear in comparison to your size, these will probably be the perfect thing for coverage under knee-length or longer skirts. Elspeth

I just turned 50 - and wear size 12-14. The Large fit plenty good - not tight. Any bigger and the bottom of legs would probably roll up. I love them - comfy, and for me a good solution for exercise wear. Definitely recommend. Plus received items quickly. I got Mediums in the Calida, based on other reviews, and they are plenty big as well. Swedegirl from Seattle

I Love, love, love the smarty pants! I was buying the "boyshort" style prior to finding the Smarty Pants. The Smarty Pants have a "longer line" and do away with any panty line issues. A nice sleek look and feel. Terry from Quakertown

Soft and comfortable, they prevent chafing under skirts/dresses. So comfortable, I don't want to take them off at the end of the day. Dianne from Corpus Christi, TX US

I bought these to wear with skirts in the hot weather am pleased with the cool fabric and low rise. They are very comfortable through the waist hips, however, I am tall and I'm afraid they are are not quite long enough for me! I will wear them under slacks and walking shorts. Fantastic! Extremely comfortable, and I admit I was worried about wearing them underneath pants in the summer, but I was not too hot at all; they kept me very cool. These do have a slightly lower rise than I expected in the back, though they cover my tummy in the front; though it surprised me, it works extremely well with my jeans that always fall in the back. I love these and can't wait until I can afford to order more. Paige from GA

Returned these and bought and extra pair of Calida Long Leg panties. The Smarty Pants were not long enough in the leg and the seams were somewhat scratchy. The Calida version is amazing! Jenny from Maine

So glad I found these! I love to wear skirts in the summer but on those hot days I hate the "thigh rub" problems! Great solution, so much more comfortable than wearing a shaper for going to the park with my kids ;) Magdalenmom

These are great, very comfortable, don't ride up. Are low enough to wear with a mid-rise skirt. I've been looking everywhere to find a long leg style that isn't shapewear to wear with my summer skirts and dresses. Wish they came in many colors. Purchased 3 styles and these are my favorite. I ordered these based on comment from another customer about wearing skirts and protecting inner thighs! These panties do that very well, do not creep up in the leg (as most do on me), and wick body moisture great. My only wish is that they had a smoother outer fabric as the fabric does not move as freely against a twill or light fabric skirt as I would like. Overall, I've looked for something like this for years and am delighted to have found it! Bobbi from Fort Mill SC

These were exactly what I was looking for to wear under baggy hospital scrubs for work. They're not too tight or too warm, although they are a little pricey I would purchase again. Jan from Michigan

Most comfortable undergarments ever. They are great for exercise - they wick sweat, don't chafe, and the anti-microbial feature really resists odor and bacteria - even after the hardest training sessions. I only wish they were tagless. kat from usa

I bought this item to wear under skirts, because my upper thighs rub together. So far, so good. They fit true to the sizing - I ordered M (I'm a dress size 8/10) and they are not too tight. I expected them to fit more like a compression garment but they are very comfortable and not at all constraining. The leg length and rise is perfect. The fabric is very wicking. For comfort I recommend wearing them inside-out as the stitching can be a little abrasive if you have sensitive skin like me (I do this with a lot of clothes). happythighs from NYC

I wore these on a backpacking trip, and they are great. The legs rolled up just slightly, but easy to smooth back into place. They are generously sized, and very comfortable. I also like them under gym clothes. J from Houston, TX
