All About Must Have Bras At HerRoom

You may have dozens of bras in your lingerie drawer, but if you don't have these must-have styles, you may find yourself missing the one style you need on the day you need it. And if you're frugal about lingerie, keep one of each of these in stock and you'll be all set.

T-shirt bras have contoured cups that are usually molded, with completely smooth cups and seamless construction. They are made to be invisible under clothing, which make them the right bra under tees, knits and other close-fitting tops.

A racerback bra has straps that angle out from the center of the back of the bra. They're cut close to the shoulder, which means they won't show under sleeveless tops. They also allow for more range of motion, so racer backs are a great choice under activewear.

The convertible bra is the workhorse of your bra wardrobe. It has straps that can be repositioned to wear criss-crossed and some styles can even be worn strapless, one-shoulder and as halters. A convertible bra can solve lots of wardrobe challenges--from strapless dresses to tiny tanks to backless dresses and halter tops.

You know that low-cut dress you just had to have? We hope there's a plunge bra in your lingerie drawer. Plunge bras have deep necklines, angled cups and small center panels. They're designed to enhance cleavage and let you show more skin. Styles range from push-up to demi-cups and seamed cups with underwires.

Although some women dread the idea of wearing a strapless bra, today's strapless and backless bras are designed to stay exactly where they belong. They have silicone gripper strips as well as elastic along the top of the cups and under the arms. Styles range from smooth contoured cups through multi-parts cups and longlines. Strapless bras are the go-to bra under gowns and even under everyday tops that would expose bra straps.

Contrary to popular belief, push-up bras don't necessarily increase the appearance of size. With graduated padding, they lift breasts for a more youthful silhouette. A push-up bra can also enhance cleavage. Whether you wear a DD+ size or are a petite AA, there are pushup bras just for you in a variety of styles, from dainty triangle cups to plunge necklines and push-ups with underwires and side support.
