The nipper is helpful but not quite as much as hoped. I've purchased other Rago items which seemed to have more/better compression than this but all in all not bad. I ordered a large originally as designated per my natural waist size 32" and it was essentially useless. I returned for medium which was better for me. Michele R from St. Louis MO

Love the emphasis on the "waist"! Bought it in beige and black. Gives you that hour glass figure better than any other waist nipper I have worn. Rhonda from Hayden, Alabama

After buying and returning 4 different waist nippers, I have to admit I wasn't very optimistic about this one but boy was I surprised! I bought a vintage dress (from the '40s, when corseted waists were the norm) and needed to take two inches off my waist to fit into it. (Why I didn't just get the dress altered is a discussion for another day, lol) This one took off two and a half! Totally did the trick - gave me a teeeeny waist but left my hips and rib cage as is so I just got a more pronounced hourglass figure. (Quite a bit more than the model in the picture, actually) Exactly what I wanted! As far as comfort goes, it's not as comfortable as wearing a t-shirt (I def. take it off the second I get home) but it's not so restrictive that I can't still dance in it. Also, I haven't had any problems with the hooks showing through clingy fabrics. it does pucker a bit when I sit down and if I am sitting for a long time I do have to tug it back down into place. Most items in this department are for the average person, but this has a good fit, even for me and I'm 4 feet 11inches tall. It also let's you breath! Ellen from Baltimore MD

This waist nipper makes a significant 2 inch reduction in my waist. It is the most comfortable I've found at also the best price. I wear it all the time with dresses. I only gave it 4 stars because the one I wore for my wedding 6 months ago has already stretched out and one of the side bones is bent and gives me a funny lump on one side...so I'm buying another. My mother tried one on though and it didn't work on her with a 40" waist measurement. Anyone 36" or under it should work well for. Worth the $$$. Carinna from Biloxi, MS

This waist nipper is a little long for a petite frame so I had to fold mine under. Otherwise it is awesome! I think I am going to invest in the additional cost of having it professionally shortened. This one is a keeper! Denise from St Louis

This shapewear is excellent. It instantly flattened my tummy which is my problem area. Other waistnippers I tried at the mall did not do that. Now I am feeling confident about my upcoming bridal fitting. Emeld from Detroit,MI

Like the Fit the waist nipper had to be reduced because the size chart was wrong we took it in ourselves rather than send it back. Perfectly satisfied after it was reduced.

HerRoom Response: We confirmed with Rago that our size chart is accurate. jan from port clinton Ohio

It streched out on me very quickly wish i would have gotten a smaller size

Rago Response: A smaller size would accommodate better for you, but this item can be moved up and down on your hips and waist for the position to accommodate the best fit and accomplish the shaping function. Karye Lynn from newport beach,ca

NO SUPPORT I've been buying waist nippers for years and this is worse than the ones you get in Walmart. It stretched out after the first wear and I just wore it a 2nd time and it sticks out everywhere. It's not smooth and this girl in the picture is probably 1 size smaller than the one she's wearing phunchurchgirl from Richmond, TX

I like the way this feels around the waist and middle. The only thing I don't like is how far down it goes in the back. It covers part of my bum and leaves an indentation. I like to wear waist cinchers with all my clothes but I can't with this one because it shows especially with slacks. So it is a keeper. Norma

About a month ago, I saw the holidays coming and like a lot of women, I knew I would look better in my holiday dresses if I lost 15 pounds. But there was no way I could realistically do that. So I bought this and I started wearing it all the time -- so I'd get used to it. Here's what happened. I look so much better, it's just amazing. It holds me in and, well that makes a big difference. So, ... the holiday parties have been just wonderful. Heather from Chicago, IL

It's difficult to put on, as the hooks just don't seem to want to link up. I have to be really careful not to break a fingernail. That's the bad part. The good part is that once it's on it's perfect. It keeps my tummy absolutley flat, absolutely. And, it pulls my in on the side, so I have curves, real curves. Is it comfortable? Well you do know you're wearing it. But considering what it does, it's acceptable. So, if you need to look your best -- all day -- this is about as perfect a garment as you can buy. Lydia from San Francisco

I must wear support garments because of a hernia, and, being of short stature I always find them too long and terribly uncomfortable. The "bones" in this garment are short enough not to cut into my legs when I sit down, and the support is excellent and the comfort is divine. I will order more! Teresa from Wake Forest, NC USA

This is nice, but it does have some problems. I have a long torso, and this isn't long enough. For the best fit, I need to wear it centered on my center. This means that there is the muffiny area above the cincher and below the bra line and the area of lower belly beneath the cincher. I'm a bariatric patient and I've lost nearly 100 pounds so far, with some more to go. I have tons of loose skin and extra flab so I was hoping the boning and support would be helpful.

The boning is disapointing in the way most boning is in these sort of products-- it isn't strong enough. I have never tried steel boning, I think that is what I need. With the plastic boning I have always had issues where it just bends rather than supports and holds and shapes. Where is the bone part! This does help when added to my shapeware ensamble however. I've discovered in order to actually look good in a close fitting dress, I need multiple layers: First I put on my spanx hide and sleek high rise body smoother. Then the waist cincher. Then over this goes slimpressions to help with the upper torso and arms and back. At this point, I can finally put on my clothes.

This product stays in place reasonably well-- better than the svelt belt and it is mostly comfortable. For more active days-- like when I'm crawling around the floor and then moving around and dancing then who knows what (I work with kids), it can get uncomfortable from shifting. bookgoddess from IL

I did not like this. The material is stiff and rough, but ok I would've dealt with it. The real problem is the construction. The strongest elastic sits right at the sides of the waist, which cinches my waist, but not so much the hips - so it ends up creating not a smooth line from waist to hip, but cinched waist - huge hips type of look. This might be an indiviual problem, just how my body looks in this cincher, but I had to give it 3 stars, it just seems like they skimped on the elastic. dinka from CT

This item is fabulous! It gives me an instant flat stomach and smooth line under my wedding dress and it doesn't feel too constricting. Highly recommended!! Beth from Indianapolis, IN

Love it! This item is lighter weight and more comfortable than the Rago 21 but I love them both! Highly recommend both the Rago 21 and the Rago 821. I love this waist nipper. I have both this one and the Rago 821. I love them both but think the 21 is a little more comfortable than the 821. But I recommend both of them. Gives you curves that you don't really have! I really liked this -- I wore it beneath my bride'smaid's dress and it made me feel so much less insecure, especially about the bulge right below my breasts. The only thing I didn't like was that it was kind of short and didn't cover both my under-breast and belly pudge at the same time. Two more inches would have made it perfect, but maybe I have an unusually long torso, I'm not sure. It didn't roll or anything like that, but after about 5 hours, I was dying to get out of it. I'd never used waist cinchers before and have purchased several now due to a medical problem. The bright side is that the waste cincher not only supplies the needed support but really does smooth out your shape and looks great. The Rago 821 is superb and does all that the manufacturer claims. I have three and have two more on the way. It is comfortable, very firm, and looks great under your clothes. I would highly recommend this product. MAW from WV/USA

This garment works great and provides full coverage. I got in beige and it does not show through my clothes. I really appreciate the quality of construction and the powernet material is cool enough to wear all day. I wear a size 24-26 so the 7X fit me firmly. Because I am tall I probably could squeeze it down one size but I think I would be less comfortable. Hazel from Santa Cruz, CA

This holds in my mummy tummy and lets me wear dresses and not look pregnant - instant flat tummy - the boning really helps, nice and long. bought one in each color, wash after a few uses to keep it tight. postpartum from florida

This garment did not work for me, as i have a very defined waist, and the garment nipped in at the waist too much, instead of minimizing the surrounding areas. Since it cinched in my indented waist so much, the lower half of the garment inched up too much.

HerRoom Response: Your comments and symptoms suggest you need a larger size. Lynn from Las Vegas NV USA

I finally got to actually wear the waist cincher on Easter Sunday, for a special event. And I must say, it was wonderful (both the event and the waist cincher). You could see it under the dress I wore, but once I pulled the ole trusty body shaper on, I looked pretty close to perfect. Worked out great! Dawn B. from Powder Springs, Ga/US
