Very comfortable to wear and good quality in this item. The only thing if you order this item go up at least two sizes it runs very small. I normally wear a L or XL and was glad I chose the 2X. I will order again from this company. Anne from Cornelius

Wow. This is the best girdle I've ever put on. I'm sort of new to the whole thing, being a child of the spandex era, but this type of a garmet is a must if you wear vintage clothes. Most of the girdles I've worn have been vintage which cost a fortune and often have failures of elastic, etc. It really smooths shapes and supports. I don't think it was hard to get on at all, no worse than control top panty hose. For those who've had trouble, I suggest measuring yourself and looking at the size chart. They are very accurate. I'm a 12-14 and took a 3X. I worried it would be huge. It turned out to be perfect. Size is just a number, make sure you get one that fits. The lace is a bit stiff, but I think as I will wash it before wearing that may relax out. Get the black, it is sexy in an old school vintage undies kind of way. Not grandma-ish at all. Rago is a national treasure. I hope they keep. HerRoom is the best. I'll order all my lingerie here from now on. I loved this item! I wore it to smooth out some bumps under a dress for a family wedding. It was a little difficult to pull up, but no more than your average pair of Spanx- and held everything in so much better than Spanx do! It did not roll down at all, and even felt kind of sexy to me since I ordered the black one. A relative actually asked me if I had lost weight, so you know I love it! I also really appreciate all the helpful info on the site- how to measure, how to put it on, all the related styles. It made a normally nerve-wracking and embarrassing experience MUCH easier! Thanks! I'm sure for some this will be the ideal product. For me it wasn't. It did flatten the stomach area and the love handles, however it also squished everything to the top and made a new roll. julie from livermore,ca. usa

I ordered this item one size bigger than I normally get. I couldn't even get it past my knees. The product appeared to be well made, and it came to me promptly. It was wrapped nicely in purple tissue paper, and it actually smelled as if there was a perfume sprayed on it. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. I ordered Spanx, and they fit wonderfully, are not as tight and are much lighter. The Spanx hold very well also without binding. I'm sure I will use HerRoom again, this was just an unfortunate occasion.

the garment rolls down too much, the bones does not help keep garment up...

I am overall very pleased with this high waist panty girdle. Just wish it had a bit more shaping power (more boning) around the waist. Side boning digs a bit into my hips but that's only when the girdle slid down a bit after a long day. Very much like the semi transparent material. Mac from NM

This items seems to do all it was designed for.I wore it to church and it held me in quite well without any discomfort.I also like the removable garters.I do wish it had either a snap or hook and eye closure.I plan on wearing to work someday soon to see if it remains comfortable through out the day.This is the first item I have purchase from HerRoom but i will be shopping here again Khim from San Antonio,Texas

The delivery was quick and the price was right. Next time, I might order a size smaller as this one fit my hips but is too big in the waist and isn't doing as much tummy cinching as I would like. All my shopping has always been with 2 companies, both of whom sold Rago, but not what I was looking for. Lucky for me, HerRoom was fairly easy to find. I needed something to support my lower back more than to 'shape' me. No product can fit every single person but this product does pretty well for me. Since I wear skirts, I don't worry about the panty lines that others have mentioned. The top tries not to roll down but sometimes loses the battle with the rolls that were there first. The boning at the top doesn't dig in like I thought it would. When I wear this item, I can stand up straighter and my lower back is supported like I need. There was worry that I would feel like a sausage as I've not worn a garment like this before. I kind of like it now. It doesn't do much to keep one cool, but hey, I'll take warmth over back pain any day! I find it easier to pull it on when wearing a pair of panties first. Bare skin is difficult. I went by your size chart in determining a size 5X. The garment fit in the hips but was loose in the waist and top. The top rolled down after sitting a while. It did not hold in my upper stomach and lower abdomen AT ALL! I looked exactly the same in those areas as without the garment. Very disappointed in this item.

The tag loudly proclaims this as being "Shapewear for Today's Woman"... which is probably identical to "Shapewear for Women 50 Years Ago." That being said, there is ABSOLUTELY a reason that these girdles have remained the same for such a long period of time, and that is that they WORK. It ideal at creating an hourglass shape regardless of what you're starting out with. I owned this product in a 4X or 5X, and now, I own it in a M... and I found it invaluable at every size! In spite of its industrial-strength, old-school styling, I find this product to be very comfortable. It can be very hard to wriggle into, especially after a shower - I suspect my being between sizes and ordering down might be a contributing factor. Waiting until your skin is no longer damp makes getting this on and off a much easier proposition. Unlike more mild, modern shapewear like control-top pantyhose, this is not invisible under more clingy dresses. Particular trouble spots are the leg elastic, and if you chose to take advantage of the ultra-cute garters that come with this (which you should do because stockings really complete the retro look!), that also can show under more modern styles. However, it does work for all but the most body-conscious styles. I would love it if this product were just a bit (two inches or so) longer so that it extends up to the band of my bra, but I have a very tall torso and it is probably sized just right for the vast majority of women. All in all, a huge fan of this product. Recognize that it has some limitations in that a more vintage-styled product may not work with more modern dress-styles, but apart from that, this product is flawless! J. from Seattle, WA

It does flatten my tummy very well. Legs too low and cut into my thighs. Only thing I can wear it with is dresses and skirts because of the panty lines. Looks awful w/pants. Vicky from California
