I have been wearing the Rago 21 cincher for years. It is the only waist cincher I have found that takes into account that if you want to be cinched in the middle, you most likely hourglass out at the top and bottom. Most cinchers are shaped like a glorified tube, which causes spillage at the top & bottom. These give you the glamorous hourglass figure of vintage movie stars. The garters also hold up your stocking securely! Tiffany from Roseville, CA, USA

I do not like how this particular garment fits on the body : it is very visible, as to the shape, it does not create naturally beautiful shape. I bought two sizes - one XS , one S not being sure what will fit best on my size frame, but neither are good : S is visibly too large, and XS gives a very definite appearance of a waist BUT at cost of creating LOVE HANDLES, the VERY thing one wants to avoid in the first place. My recommendation is a no.

Rago Response:You might try Rago waist nipper 821 as it is smoother and has a no show effect. Customer from NY

I originally used measurements and ordered a 5x. 5x was a little too large, but the 4x fits beautifully, is comfortable and sexy! Brenda from Oregon

I weigh about 140 pounds and wear a size 12. I thought a large would be plenty big for me. Well, the waist cincher was half of what I would need to wear for comfort. I have re-ordered a size 3X because I want to have comfort. I am 100 years old and I wear it basically to keep my stockings up. I hope the 3x will do the trick It is very hard to find this type of item today. Rose from Union, New Jersey

I love, love, love this product!! I bought it to go under my wedding dress which is very slim fitting. This waist clincher makes you have that perfect hour glass figure and, even though it does suck you in a lot, it is really comfortable to wear! Marti from Illinois

Beautiful waist cincher. I probably should have ordered one size smaller, but am pleased and plan to wear it often. Thanks! N from California

After reading a lot of the other reviews of this product I decided to go with a size down, so I bought the x-small. I'm very happy with it. It takes about two inches off my waist and is very comfortable, even after wearing it for 10 hours. I was afraid that I might have some trouble with pinching at the hipline, since my hip measurement is much larger than the one listed for the x-small, but it covers easily without any lumps or bumps. Very happy with my purchase! Eve-Lynn from Kentucky

This waist cincher is really a fine piece of shapewear. Comfortable to wear either with or without stockings. It gives you a lot of energy and helps to improve your posture. Klaus from Germany

the cincher fit very well, I purchased a size smaller as recommended and the dress looked much better with it on. The only change I would like to see is two additional garter straps with ribbon covers. babs from wi

This is ok if you're thin and need a little bit of a shape to figure your curves out. It's not to hold in the rolls or fatten them out that much. The cincher has extra stitching on the waist area which can make too much of an indention and a bit of a roll above the waist.

Rago Response:This garment should be pulled up under the breast plate, as it is a 12 and 1/2 inch waist cincher and is meant for high waist wearing. The circle band design should help contour the body and hold it in place. A softer waist cincher by Rago is the 821 or 721. Thank you for your comments. Dominique from New York

Wow, really makes you smaller! My waist looks tiny. On the cons side, it's not comfortable to wear and for me isn't long enough (and I'm only 5'4"). But on the other hand it improves my posture. If it were only long enough it would probably be the best of these kind of undergarments. Angie from Portland, OR

This is a lovely cincher. I haven't worn it with stockings yet, but it fits nicely, it holds me in snugly and feels great. It has a nice length too. Allison from Calif

Top rolls down when bending over or sitting. Would not recommend for those with large mid-sections--figure eight, diamond, or oval.

Rago Response: Try pulling the garment lower on the hips. Tasha from Beloit, WI USA

This waist cincher did not reduce my waist size at all. It was very difficult to fasten, so I know that it was not the wrong size. All it did was squeeze me tightly and force me to sit up straight. I could barely tell any difference wearing it underneath the gown I put on, and the front seam was visible through the dress, which had a beaded overlay. I ended not wearing it for my special occasion..

Rago Response: Try the Rago 821 - it has more holding power. Disappointed from Norfolk

This cincher did not go on easily because the hooks seemed awkwardly spaced. It also did not hold me in near as well as the Flexees slimmer. I will be returning it.

Rago Response: Are you wearing the closure in the front? Louise from Illinois

I love this girdle. Pros: Fits true to size on waist and hips easy to wear, able to move in quite easily really gives that hour glass shape you need for snug fitting dresses and purist classic structure for vintage foundations 1940-1960. Seriously makes your clothes look better. (I don't recommend pants or shorts for this style, unless you are wearing loose wide leg trousers.) made in USA - this really gives that quality and historical value to it - as back in the day, almost everything was made in country. Cons (not really cons, more like tips,): You need to wear stocking with these to keep the edges smooth, or from rolling up, which is how it was intended anyway. You need to wear a bra that will cover your sides as the girdle will push up some flesh. But wear the right bra and its fixed. Keep in mind, wearing a girdle is not like wearing panties and a bra - at all. it's a whole new way of moving, dressing and feeling - so it's not supposed to feel "free" or "easy to wear" in our modern sense. All in i love this and will be buying more! merstian from new york, Ny USA

Nice boning, not too tight or too loose. Tends to ripple/bow with extended sit time, but otherwise this cincher is great. Would buy again! Leah from Lower Lake, CA, USA

This is so retro awesome! I bought it for a photo shoot and it really stole the show. Please, though, READ THE SIZE CHART before ordering. Then, order about 2 sizes smaller than you think you need, going by your measurements. For example, my measurements of 45/48/53 put me above the 8x, the largest size available. However, the 8x totally gaped on me. The 6x was perfect. The measurements that are most important for this item are your empire waist/underboob measurement and your hip measurement. Also, if you are tall (or have a big derrierre like me), the garter straps in the back are not long enough to stretch over my butt when I'm sitting, they are very uncomfortable. The front ones fit great though. And the garters are removable. I would recommend this for a vintage lingerie look. I paired it with a lacey bullet bra that I also found at HerRoom and looked awesome! Rebecca from seattle, wa

I got this item (in XS) to use with my seamed stockings (I love the 1940's-50's style clothing). It goes great under everything. It was a bit snug at first, but after having it on for 5 minutes it felt great. My waist was 25 3/4 inches before, and it was 24 inches after getting the cincher on. It gave me the hour glass figure I wanted. I am thin, but I have also had a child and still have just a bit of a pooch. This cincher makes it totally flat. I also have a bad habit of slouching due to back problems. I noticed that I sit and stand a lot straighter with this on. Oh and before I forget, Thanks Herroom. Super fast shipping. R.S. from CA

This garment was perfect under my silk wedding dress. It tucked me in, no visible lines showed and was comfortable all night long. I wore it from 3pm to midnight. The sizing felt true and took 1.5 inches off my waist. I will definitely order again in another color as I love to wear 50's style clothing and "foundation" undergarments are absolutely essential. The waist cincher is fantastic, fit's like a glove, doesn't slip or ride up. My husband just loves the way I look in it. Great product, well made. Wendy from New Bern

I bought this to see if it would help my figure when wearing skirts and let me tell you it fit perfect. My husband surely notice the change and even liked the idea that it had garters. I'm very happy with this item and recommend it to one and all. Viki Castillo from New Bern
