Racerback strap design is very common in sports bras. Racerback bras, with their Y- or T-shaped design , keep straps in place and allow for a great range of motion. While racerbacks come in many styles and cup designs, racerback sports bras will typically go over the head or have a series of front-closures--snaps, hook-and-eye, even a zipper.
Like any well-designed sports bra, there can be varying levels of support and methods of construction. Most sports bras either use compression to keep motion to a minimum or encapsulation, which--like the name says--encapsulates each breast with full coverage and more shaping. Many styles, especially those for high-impact activity, use both. Sports bras with racerback straps are a great choice for women who wear C cups or larger; they give the most support and the encapsulation style especially is very comfortable. |
