Although the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a difference between padded bras and push-up bras, although push-up bras can include the same functions as padded ones. Padded bras have cups lined with flexible foam, fiberfill, cotton padding or gel. The padding is constructed to create the look of larger breasts, although no bra can actually increase bust size. Push up bras, with the padding on the bottom of the cups, are meant to lift breasts, creating enhanced cleavage. They can create a shapelier silhouette. Many bra styles incorporate all these features and padded, push-up bras are popular with women who wear smaller bra sizes. |
