Nylon is the most versatile of hosiery fabrics: it has great stretch and yet retains its shape, it is durable and easy to care for and it can be used in any style, from stockings and knee-highs to pantyhose and tights. Typically there will not be seams along the leg, although some styles offer the iconic back seam, which is a sexy and retro touch of glamour. Nylon hosiery fabric can be knit in the round to be seamless, but most styles will have strategic seaming, such as double-seamed toes or a seamed rear to accent the derriere. The reinforced seamed toe adds durability and helps prevent runs and tears.
