The term 'nighties' is really just another way of saying nightgowns, although it has a bit of a flirty connotation. Regardless of what you call it, nighties can be long, short, revealing or cover-up style. Some nighties are chemise-style--with straps, a formed bodice and length to hip or high thigh. Other nighties may be ankle-length, flowing gently around your curves.
Although not often thought of as 'nighties,' the style also encompasses nightgowns with long sleeves and high collars--perfect for chilly nights.
