Goddess Response: We use stays in the wings to provide maximum stability and support and to prevent the band from curling. We completely understand your dilemma though, and if you simply cannot tolerate an under-wire, perhaps try taking the stays out as an absolute last resort. A very common misconception is that an under-wire bra is often uncomfortable, and the only truly comfy bra is wire-free. Yes, under-wire bras can be uncomfortable when they’re worn in the wrong size. If worn in the correct size, under-wire bras can be just as comfortable –or even more comfortable –than wire-free bras! The most common mistake is the cups being too small (so the under-wire digs into tender breast tissue –OW!) and the band is too big –so there is no anchorage and the breasts are not supported. It’s crucial, vitally important, that you’re in the correct size, to get the best support and the most comfort out of your bra! Maybe try an under-wire bra, you might be pleasantly surprised… Please refer to the Bra Fitting Advice Page to help you find your perfect size. Karen
Goddess Response: You might want to try our brand new Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121 which features a movable strap cushion for extra comfort. The fabrication is smooth, and the seams are as flat as we can make them to minimize show-through. If you can wear an under-wire bra, perhaps try ourHannah Underwire Molded Side Support Bra GD6131. Hannah is a molded seam-free bra with side-support for a completely smooth look under all of your clothes. Yikes! from Texas
Goddess Response: Very often it’s the size not the style which is the problem. Marlene, you mention the bra is too big: Even the most perfect bra in the world can’t do the job it was designed to do (support the breast tissue) if it’s worn in an incorrect size. Most of the support should come from the “body” of the bra –not the straps –the straps are there to help. The straps on this style are a restricted stretch fabrication, and they’re designed to support the sizes that are available in this particular style (provided it’s worn in the correct size). I think you’ll most probably need a smaller band size and a larger cup size. Please refer to HerRoom's Bra Fitting Advice Page to help you find your perfect size. Marlene from Philadelphia, PA, USA
Goddess Response: We’re so happy you’re pleased with the fit of our Alice bra! If you’re looking for a soft-cup non–lace option, perhaps give Goddess Keira Soft Cup Bra GD6093 a try. The fabrication in this style is a silky soft satin simplex –oh so comfy! GD6093 runs a bit smaller in the cups than GD6040, so we recommend you order a 44D4. Jacquelyn from East Point, GA
Goddess Response: I know it’s very difficult when a manufacturer replaces a style you’ve loved with another new one! GD6040 is slightly updated and features a side panel to bring the breast tissue forward and out from under the arms for a very slimming, lifted look. You mention GD6040 doesn’t fit well at all, and very often that can mean you may need a different size in this style. Please refer to HerRoom’s fabulous fitting guides to help. You might also want to try our brand new soft cup bra Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121 ; Audrey has an added bonus, a wonderful movable strap cushion feature on the straps for extra cushiness. CJ from Newark Delaware
Goddess Response: Sunny, as you know all brands fit differently –depending on the style and fabrication –so it’s important to be flexible about your size. Fortunately GD6040 goes to a D10, so you can go up in the cups as much as you’d need to. We find soaking the bra in fabric softener for a while will help to get rid of any itch problem. You might like our fabulous new soft cup option Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121 . The fabrication is a matte simplex –smooth and not lacey –and the straps feature a great movable padded strap cushion for total comfort! Sunny from Boston, MA
Goddess Response: GD6040 is one of our most supportive styles, so you might have ordered an incorrect size. Very often it’s the size, and not the style which is the problem. Even the most wonderful bra in the world won’t be able to do its job (support the breast tissue) if it’s worn in the wrong size. GD6040 is also available in an under-wire version (Goddess Alice Underwire Full Cup Bra GD6041), and fortunately Goddess offers many under-wire bra options, so you have lots of styles to choose from. Check out our Goddess Keira Banded Underwire Bra GD6090, a glamorous satin simplex creation available in yummy colors. Tyler from Chicago, IL
Goddess Response: You’re correct, GD6040 does give a very lifted, defined, “European” look. And yes, breasts do have a tendency to migrate towards the center of the cups when there is no under-wire to help separate them (and this can also happen when the cups are too small). For another soft cup option without lace, have a look at our brand new style, Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121. The fabrication is a matte simplex, smooth and bump-free, and it also features a movable strap cushion for the ultimate in comfort. Goddess offers lots of under-wire choices as well. You might love our Goddess Keira Banded Underwire Bra GD6090: The fabrication is a silky-smooth satin simplex… –smooth and no lumps! N
Goddess Response: Joelle, please make sure you’re adjusting your breast tissue into the cups as you’re putting the bra on: By “swooping and scooping” all of the breast tissue from the back to the front into the cups you’ll change the fit and feel of the bra completely. The seams and stays will line up exactly where they’re supposed to be to provide the best lift and support, so placing your breast tissue into the cups properly is a vital step ensuring comfort and correct fit. Please refer to HerRoom's Bra Fitting Page to help. You might also want to try our brand new Goddess Audrey Soft Cup Bra GD6121. Audrey is also a full coverage soft cup bra –just like Alice is –but Audrey also features a moveable strap cushion for extra super-duper comfort. joelle from santa rosa,ca
