I was just professionally measured to be a 36DDD, but since many of the reviews said the cups ran large, I would give it a go. The cups fit well, but the band size ran very, very small. I couldn't even try on the garment because there was a three inch gap. Additionally, the bra arrived late, damaged (there was a missing strap and one of the hook ties was broken) and was not at all flattering; while the cups fit, they squished and elongated my breasts like long pancakes due to strange boning in the cups barely visible in the photo. I decided not to exchange the garment for another size and will be ordering something similar from another vendor. I sincerely hope this bra works out better for another customer than it did for me.

This style runs extremely snug in the band, so normally we recommend going up in the band and down in the cup. Sometimes we find we’ve got to go up two band sizes and then down two cup sizes for the perfect fit. You could conceivably wear a 40C in this garment if the cups fit you in the 36DD. Actually, it sounds as if the cups could have been a bit small for you in the 36DD, since you mentioned that your breasts were “squished” and took on a strange shape (usually a sign that the cups are too small.) The cups have boning to create the ultimate support. This bustier is a ‘specific fit’ garment. Everything – band size, cup size, fabric, boning –must work together for a superior fit.
