Although seamless cup bras have exploded on the market, bras made with multi-part cups have endured for a long time for a good reason: they offer matchless support and lift, even in larger cup sizes. In 3-part cups, the cups are seamed together with either a horizontal or transverse seam as well as with a vertical seam on the bottom of the cup. The overall effect is one of projection and lift.

Three-part cup styles include full-coverage bras, demi-cup and balconet bras for every shape and size. Lace bras are often made with three-part cups, for a delicate look with plenty of support. Depending on brand and style, you can go for the conical shape popular in the 40's and then made popular again by Madonna or go for a more natural rounded shape. Women who wear full-figure lingerie, with cup sizes up to N, will especially appreciate the extra support that seamed cups offer.
