This is an update (and also a correction of the cup thickness) for the review I submitted earlier this year. After numerous wears, my bra is holding up well, except for the fact that I've had to restitch the eyes back in the bra on the back closure. The band fits me great (better than size 30 and 32), there is even some gapping under my arms so it's not as tight as it should be - the straps slip off and the band rides up a little bit, indicating it is a little loose on me, yet it's tight at the same time. The straps constantly grow, for some reason the adjuster on them will not stay in place, so I have to readjust them whenever I wear it, which causes the cups to droop a little in the front. The fabric on the band looks as if it's stretched a little too, even though as I said above, it's not very tight on me. There are also a lot of loose threads and I launder my bras properly. I'm disappointed in the quality of this bra. I thought it would hold up better. These are all problems that happened within my first 2 months of owning it too.
Also HerRoom states the cup thickness is 1/4"? I just measured mine on various places of the cup (28F/DDDD) and it is barely even 1/8" thick (loosely wiggle a needle in until it reaches the other side of the fabric, mark the inside fabric with your fingers, pull it out and measure it). I don't need the bulk, but this is a bit misleading especially if someone is looking to add fullness or eliminate show-through. I'm curious if maybe this is only in certain sizes, or HerRoom just doesn't know how to measure... I probably wouldn't purchase this again because 1) it's too expensive for the quality, 2) the band runs too large and the straps are set way too far apart for a size 28. If they were correctly placed, and the cups had the same foam as the Panache Porcelain this would be a really comfortable bra. But it's the only one I own that fits the best and is a t-shirt bra.
HerRoom Response: We appreciate your opinion. We use an extremely sophisticated measuring device to determine the thickness. We have checked, and stand by our measurement.
Thank you for your very comprehensive and detailed review.
#4234 is a “show-stopper” bra: The straps are wide set to show off the upper chest area and to enhance cleavage. It sounds as if you have a very petite frame if you’re finding the 28-band to be a bit loose. Other than some of the British brands, there is very little product on the market with bands smaller than a 28.
You could however alter the band down to make it snugger and more supportive. This would also bring the straps in a bit closer in the back.
