Even though I had the fit right on this (band snug so it should theoretically have provided most of the support, wires flat against the chest, no "spillage" over the cups), the straps still cut into my shoulders painfully. This wasn't apparent at first, but after I wore it a few hours I had to take it off.

Fantasie Response: Not sure how to address this one, as it sounds like the fit was correct… I wonder if the straps were tightened up too much? (There should be room to slide a finger underneath the strap). Or perhaps the straps were positioned just in the wrong place on your shoulders. The straps on 4500 are “center pull” (coming from the center of the cup, in line with the nipple). Most of our customers love this, as it provides more support than straps kicked out to the side, but maybe in your case you would prefer straps positioned more out to the side....FYI, 4500 runs a full cup size larger than 4520. LOVE the fit of Fantasie bras. I don't fit in bras sized for department stores. And Victoria's Secret? No way! Diana from Anchorage, AK

This bra fits perfectly! The material is a little rough and slightly scratchy but I think it will soften with wear. The cups will not hide nipples so not something I'd wear with a T-shirt, though. Great fit though and comfortable despite the material. Milvia from New Hampshire, USA

This is a good bra. I like the shape and support but am not wild about the material. It's just the slightest bit rough to the touch. However, it is not in anyway uncomfortable. A good purchase for a little less money. scoutrames from CA

I originally ordered this bra with a 34 band and it was too loose. The 32 is wonderful, and the cup size is perfect. Obviously, I am a hard to fit gal and this bra is the best fitting bra that I have worn in many years. While it is not particularly feminine, I'll take fit and comfort any day! Maggie

Very comfortable, everyday bra. Thinner lining, so nipples do show through, but all in all, I would be again for the comfort. No spillage over top for me. Great. valerie from campbell, ca

This was the 5th bra in this style I have purchased. They fit nicely and wash and wear great. The local stores only carry white and nude, so it was nice being able to add black to my color pallette. Customer service was very responsive to questions and concerns and shipping was very quick. Will definitely be back for more. Diane from Grants Pass, OR, USA

This is my first time trying the Fantasie Molded Smooth Cup Bra (4500) as for the past 5 years or so I've been buying the Fantasie Smoothing Underwired Balcony Bra (4520), however lately with the 4520 I've been finding some spillage over the top of the cups which doesn't look good under t-shirts and tight shirts. Thought I would try the 4500 because of the fuller coverage. I find it has great support and I don't have to worry about anything "falling out." My only complaint is that I wish the straps could be tightened more. I have to tighten the straps a lot so when this bra gets a little older and I have to start tightening the band and the straps I'm not going to have much leeway. I was professionally fitted for the 4520 in a 30F and ordered this in a 30F and 30FF and the 30F was a better fit, the 30FF was too big in the cups.

Fantasie Response: Spillage over the top of the cup indicates the need to go up at least one cup size (which sounds like you did); note 4500 runs one full cup size larger than Fantasie 4520 so if you are a 30F in 4520, you would need a 30E in 4500. Mary from Ithaca, NY, USA

I wore this bra almost exclusively for years. I ordered a new one to replace mine that have worn out and I was completely suprised by how the fit of this bra on me has changed. Perhaps there is some way that I could change the size that I would wear in this style now, but I don't see how it would ever fit. Seems to run larger in the underwire size (how big around the bottom it is) and cup size and come up further in the front. I also ordered the Elomi and it fites really well. More like how the 4500 used to fit me. Could be old age but my new favorite is the Elomi.

Elomi Response: I'm guessing the elomi bra you ordered was style 3911. The 3911 gives great support and has a side “sling” that 4500 does not. The side sling helps to bring the breast tissue in on from under the underarm area to give a great, lifted support. Ann from Southwest, US

The cups on this bra were far to stiff but the back fit right where it was supposed to. Bras are hit or miss and for me, this one was a miss.

Fantasie Response: First there is not an “I” cup in this bra; there are no UK “I” cups; 4500 has a big support job to do and needs to be a “firm” (even though I would not call it stiff). - Betty

Kiki might have purchased this bra in a UK 36G, as a UK G-cup is equivalent to a U.S. I-cup… perhaps Kiki’s more accustomed to wearing a “stretchier” cup with plenty of give… As Betty points out, the 4500 has a big support job to do, and therefore we do not recommend stretchy cups which allow the breast tissue to droop over the wire. A firm cup will support and lift, giving a higher (and perkier) silhouette. - Freddy Kiki from Atlanta

Fits exactly as promised and as pictured. From the front I look great. The lower side fit gives me a hideous overhang with my back at my underarm, on the top of the side. Yuck. I've never seen anything like it before...on me or anyone. I'm so desperate for plain cup bra without "contour" that I'm keeping it though. I'll just have to keep looking for the perfect fit for me.

Fantasie Response: Try Elomi 3911 in a 38F or 38E. It has great coverage in the back and underarm area. Elizabeth from Atlanta, GA

This bra has a great fit and more support than I expected. At first the cup size seemed a little big, but the underwire fit was perfect. After wearing for a few days I seemed to settle into the fit and I really love it. I don't have to keep pulling up the straps and adjusting the cups, which is unusual for me. I have always had a hard time finding a bra that fits and this one is great. Linda from Melbourne, FL

I sent this back. It flattened my breasts and pushed them out to the sides making me look fat and wide and when I tried to move my arms they kept bumping into my breasts. It was very awkward to try and function with these large lumps under my arms.

I like Fantasie bras because the wires don't come up high between the breasts or under the arms, which works much better for my small frame. But, I think Fantasie's "Smoothing Collection" might be better named the "flattening collection" because I've tried different bras from this collection and they all flatten the breasts and push them out to the sides, some more than others though. Also, it would be nice if the cup sizes where more consistant. I have one 34FF that fits, one 34G that fits, and one 34G that is too small.

I give 5 STARS to HerRoom for their fast shipment and fast, no hassle handling of my return and issuing a credit to my account.

Fantasie Response: 4500 is a bit unique in that it runs one full cup size larger than our other Fantasie Bras. I would suggest Fantasie 2152 or Fantasie 2182 as both have GREAT side coverage and prevents the “east/west” movement of the breast tissue. Also …. She may also want to try elomi 3911 , its smooth and has great side support; I would suggest a 34FF in elomi 3911. Cindy from Tukwila, WA USA

I really like the fit, but it is not a molded cup and I don't like the nipple show through, I have some silicone petals that cover them, but it should not be advertised as molded cup

HerRoom Response: A molded bra means the cups are seamless and have been shaped over a mold. If you also want a thin layer of foam in the cups for modesty, this style is called contour. Jen from VA

Delighted to find this in stock. Bought two to replace 38FF model 4500 that I bought in a local lingerie store that is now closed. I've been adding an extender. I went up from FF to G and got perfect fit. I've gained 50 pounds, so this is a very good thing for me to find my favorite bra again. The website tips on large-cup bra to fit narrow shoulders is spot-on. Although this bra is not a leotard back, the straps attach to the right spot at the back. The metal adjustment's in the back (yeah!) and the straps never dig me at the shoulder. I do the hippie-hippie shake and fill the cups perfectly. The back closure's at the right level and doesn't ride up. No underarm gap, no front bumper marks, smooth transition from top of cups at cleavage. I've washed these in a mesh bag in delicate cycle with warm water. For wearing only these two bras 7-days-a-week, they lasted up to 4 years. Eventually the underwire broke out of the channel at the underarm (never the front, which is a major wardrobe malfunction!) but I was able to repair the channel blow-out till I could buy a replacement. It's stretched out a bit, but I'd give this bra a 98% rating. Great fit for me, and well worth the extra cost. When I first bought this bra, the fitter/store owner put me in it and I didn't care that it was $50, and that was probably 9 years ago. I had worn 44DDD and 46DD's, whatever I could find, but this bra fits me best. I wore 38C in high school, and carried my breast weight high. With age the weight has dropped somewhat, but I still offer a high carriage and straight back. My shoulders are narrow; I understand this is a European characteristic. The bra label says this model is 38G Europe, 38I in the US. I've been recommended to custom-fit bras when I couldn't get a good fit. I used to get a leotard-back underwire Playtex 18-hr in Playtex/Bali outlet stores. This bra's perfect for me. Used to get black and white bras, but that local store owner convinced me that nude was suitable for all occasions. Some comments were made about this bra being too plain. If you need a lace-trimmed shelf bra to close the deal, go for it. I never lack attention from men of all ages; honey, they're not looking at ribbons or lace. Under clothing, this bra reads like a T-shirt minimizer. Why wear anything else? The smooth cup might be too revealing for some women, but that's not an issue for me. I wish the frame could wick away moisture, but the cup fabric and mesh back keep it fairly cool. Thanks again for the full description and additional comments on each bra. I was looking for a specific model that I had already worn, but your site has great info for anyone trying to buy a good-fitting bra. Rae from Ogden, KS

I was SO excited to get this bra. It looks great on the web site. NOT so much for me. To me, it looked to "old lady" like. I wanted something to hold the girls up but still look....good. The cup was a bit small too. I am sure it works for some, but didn't work for me. Wendy from Wichita, Kansas

This bra has good support and cup shape without having seams across my breast. It's also a great bra for the price. This fit similarly to the Prima Donna Satin Seamless Underwire bra, but much less expensive. California
