Elomi Response: Cassidy we’re so glad you love this bra, as it’s one of our all-time favorites as well! The sizing issue can be extremely confusing! In order to simplify and streamline we decided to tag our UK brands (Elomi, Fantasie, Fauve and Freya) with UK sizing only, and our U.S. brand (Goddess) with U.S. sizing only. As you discovered, both U.S. and UK sizes on the tag are therefore the same –still confusing I know! The easiest thing to do is to just look at the UK size if it’s a UK brand, and the U.S. size if it’s Goddess, our U.S. brand. Cassidy from Houston/Texas/United States
Elomi Response: Heidi, it’s so difficult to comment without seeing the bra on your body, or getting a more detailed description. We usually hear nothing but glowing reviews for this particular bra, but something obviously isn’t working for you. More often than not in these cases though, the problem will be an incorrect size, and not the style. You mentioned you had bruises on your ribs: This could mean the band is too snug, or it could also be that you’re not putting yourself into the bra properly (which is just as important as finding the correct size and shape).
If the band really IS too small you might try temporarily putting in an extender until the band stretches out (it WILL stretch). You’ll also want to make sure you do the “swoop-and-scoop” thing, swooping all of your breast tissue into the cups from the back to the front so that the under-wire sits behind the breast tissue on bone: The under-wire should surround and support the entire breast, the center piece (the fabric between the cups) should “tack” (come right up against the chest wall) and the band should be snug enough to stay parallel to the floor (and not ride up).
If you still find you just can’t make this bra work for you, you might want to try our Abi bra 8100 . The under-wires in Abi are a bit more flexible than those in EL8030 and Abi is actually bandless which you might find more comfortable. Heidi from MN/USA
