Pros: 1. Very comfortable. Seriously, the most comfortable bra I've ever owned. 2. Wide straps that do not dig in, but narrow enough to wear with strappy shirts. 3. Lightly padded cups are perfect for wearing with t-shirts. The padding is solidly connected to the outer bra fabric, so it's all one smooth piece in the cup. 4. Narrow band with two hook closure. 5. The center of the bra perfectly separates the breasts and lifts them nicely. Smooth, round and beautiful. 6. After 8 months of machine washings, these bras still look a few weeks old, with the exception of the under-wire that has come out.
Cons: 1. The price. But worth it. 2. I machine washed these bras, and I've only had them 8 months and the under-wire came out on all 3 of my bras during the same wash. The trim on the inside of the cup that holds the under-wire in place could be stronger. I'm ordering more today and will hand wash them. I recommend you do the same. 3. The sides of the bra could be a half an inch narrower. Sometimes the sides dig in under my arms a bit, but only when I slouch. Ruth from Panama City, Florida
Elomi Response: Very often under-wires and boning can poke if you’re not positioning the breast tissue into the cups properly. And yes, a foam mold will not conform to the body as easily as a bra without foam lining. However, over time and with washing and wearing, the foam mold does soften and will move with the body more readily. Dbart91 from Hollywood FL
Elomi Response: We’re so glad you loved the bra! We’ve not had this problem with #1220 in the past so I’m wondering whether you’re laundering the bra in the washing machine and then putting it into the dryer… We recommend washing by hand, but if that’s impossible do use a protective bag in the washing machine –warm –not hot –water, and never ever put bras into the dryer! Your question about #3911: We don’t believe in “cheating” our customers by taking a particular style up to a cup size which can’t really “deliver” the necessary support. Presently #3911 will only truly work to a GG cup. Our bras have to work on the body, and not just on the hanger. Dana from Griffin, GA
Elomi Response: I’m so happy you love this bra: We do too! We pride ourselves on producing a fabulous quality product, so thank you for pointing out this inconsistency, it truly helps us to be better. I must ask however, if you’re putting this bra in the washer and/or the dryer? One or both of these can wreak havoc with under wires. We do recommend washing by hand, but if you must wash the garment in the machine, at least put it into a lingerie case or bag. Please never ever put bras into the dryer! KIm from Modesto, Ca. USA
Elomi Response: It’s easier for a cut-and-sewn bra (with seams) to conform to the actual shape of your breasts in comparison to a foam mold, which tends to have a shape of its' own when it’s new. I’m sure a smaller size will work beautifully for you and it will soften and become more a part of your body as you wear it and wash it. rmg from Guam
Elomi Response: This bra provides a generous fit. If you’re finding the cups too big it’s easy to remedy, just go down a cup size to a 36GG. Also I want to make sure you’re bringing all the breast tissue forward in front of the under wire to fill the cup. This step can make all the difference in how a bra (in any brand) fits! G. from MO
elomi Response: Sounds like You are still not in quite the right size. If the band is riding up it means it’s too big around and won’t be able to properly support the breast tissue. I suggest you try a smaller band, and go up two sizes in the cup, as the DD seems to be too small for you. If the cups are too small, the breasts will push the wire away from the body, and will actually fall out of the bottom of the cup. I think a 40F or 40FF (maybe even 38FF or 38G) would work for you. Ideally the band should be snug enough around the torso to anchor the bra and the cups should be big enough so the wire surrounds the breast tissue and lies flat against the chest wall. If the bra fits properly you should not need to keep adjusting throughout the day. Jo from Spencer, IA 51301
elomi Response: I can’t help but wonder if Lillian is placing her breasts into the cups correctly. After swooping-and-scooping the breast tissue forward into the cups sometimes there’s a bit of breast tissue “fluffing” between the cups so that the center gore can’t sit flush against the chest wall… When this happens just smooth the tissue back into the respective cups. Alternatively, perhaps the foam mold is a bit too much for Lillian and she would be happier in our elomi 3911 –a seam-free bra without foam molding. She could try it in 44FF as the cups run slightly larger than #1220. Lillian from Rock Hall MD
