I wouldn't say it's a super strong shaper but it does pull you in a little. I have a post-baby flab belly and it tucks it in perfectly without making me look like an overstuffed sausage in it. FINALLY..... someone made "scary-stomach-holding-in-panties" that are both functional AND sexy! Even slender girls get "post-spaghetti dinner bloat". These panties have high enough waist (tighter than Spanx) to hold that in, without looking hideous (making me need to undress in the dark). I love both the thong and the briefs.
