As opposed to the picture above, the shape of this bra, and I have met this on other Chantelle bras as well, is like a missile. The cups are HUGE. I could easily have fitted both breast in one cup- had to return it, did not want a replacement. Quite hard and uncomfie material as well. Strange really.

HerRoom Response: This bra by Chantelle has been around for more than 20 years with a very faithful following. jenny from seoul/Korea

I ordered my usual size (38B) and it was just way too tight in the band and too small in the cup. It gave tremendous support and uplift to my less-than-youthful bosom - impressive. I considered ordering a larger size but didn't, since the fabric seemed a little itchy on my skin - I don't generally like the feel of lace bras but thought I would take a chance on this one since all the reviews were great. Best Bra I have ever worn and have worn this style for about 15 - 20 years. I feel secure and comfort in this bra, and it gives me great lines in my fashions. Patricia from United States

I wish Nude was still available, but I love the way this bra lifts up aging, sagging, old lady bosoms. Gram from Winter Park, FL, USA

I have worn this bra for over 30 yrs all of a sudden it is hard to find. I fits very well for women who need support. I was surprised that HerRoom sent me a double D instead I had to send it back, so I was a little disappointed especially that I had to pay the postage.

HerRoom Response: Chantelle sometimes labels their products in US sizing. A cup size E and cup size DD are the same size. Carmen from Albuquerque

Everything I ordered from HerRoom was excellent. When I needed to return something it was handled well and efficiently and I am delighted with everything. My campaign to replenish my undies went very well. Thank You HerRoom! Judith from Philadelphia PA

I have been wearing the Chantelle Bras for over 40 years (started in Germany) and think it is one of the better bras on the market. Christa from Dallas, Texas

I had high hopes for this bra, but returned it after trying it on. The upper cup fabric was just snug enough that it pressed into my upper chest causing an unsightly pucker of skin. Other than not fitting my individual chest shape, it was an almost perfect bra and would have been comfortable.

HerRoom Response: Our recommendation would be to go up a cup size. Janet from Northcoast Califoria

I love the 'perky' look that the incredibly comfortable Chantelle 1960 gives my bustline. It creates the super-stylish, retro silhouette featured on "Mad Men" and in those Douglas Sirk 1960's three-hankie weepies starring Lana Turner. And like the Lana Turner legend, which claims she was discovered at Schwab's drugstore counter wearing a sweater, this bra looks terrific under knits and sweater sets. I grew up seeing ads for this bra in Paris Match and even as a kid I realized the French had a 'je ne sais quoi' when it comes to lingerie. Vivre Chantelle 1960! Excellent bra. Best support bra I've ever worn. I have jaw and shoulder problems and this bra is the only bra I've worn that alleviates the pain. HerRoom is an excellent Web site, with outstanding service.

HerRoom Response: For someone with these problems, you should never wear a racerback bra. The straps will exasperate the symptoms. S.C. from Macomb, MI USA

An excellent bra that can be used as a sport's bra - the support is that good. The look is more conical than is currently fashionable but I like having my breasts all at the front rather than tucked under my armpits. This is my everyday bra and it's the best I've ever found. Cecile from France

I've been wearing this bra for at least 15 years and I was thrilled to find it on your site. The only problem was you only had two in my size in stock and I wanted to purchase at least 6. Pam from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Great support and true to fit. The band does not have as much give as some of my other bras. The lace cups do have some texture, but it has not been a problem for most of my clothes. The bra lifts and supports well. I would describe the look as perky rather than pointy. sharon

I just recognized this bra as one I wore in my teens, 35 years ago--I grew up in Europe--I can't believe it's still available. It was great. It has been around a long time. Naturalized from SLC, UT

*Love* this bra; have worn it for many many years and it's the only one I buy. When you got 'em, flaunt 'em, and this bra looks *great* under a sweater. I wish Chantelle would also make this bra in a smooth, so I can wear it under a lightweight silk shirt. Lara from San Francisco, CA, USA

I was really hoping that this bra would be a good fit, but unfortunately it made my chest look a bit like two cones - very pointy. Otherwise, it was very comfortable. So, if that's the shape you like, then it's a good bra.

HerRoom Response: This Chantelle bra has been around for a very long time. The shape is more pointed than rounded to give the "sweater girl" look from the 50's.

It is comfortable and adjustable. It lifts and holds my breasts at a very good height. I don't feel the heaviness of my breasts. I've been wearing Chantelle ever since I was a 32C. Submitted from TheUndies.com

it defies gravity without pads, cookies and other forms of falsies. It's far more comfortable than it looks and isn't quite the Madonna space age bustier the picture makes it appear to be. It wears like iron and lasts forever with proper care. Submitted from TheUndies.com
