Purchased for an "at home" bra. I doubt I'd wear it to work or out, maybe errand running. Super comfortable, very supportive. Only wish the straps adjusted. A little overpriced, but for this level of comfort I'll pay it. Patrice from Hastings MN USA

This bra rides up in the back and yet still feels like it is binding me on the bottom. Fabric is nice, wish it fit better on the cups. Size seems to be to large, yet an "A" cup would not be right either. I was hoping this might be the answer but obviously not. DYANNE from GRAYSLAKE, IL, USA

For me it is really difficult to find a bra that fits. But I was really surprised about this one. That is the first bra I have purchased from Anita and I must say it is super comfortable and I really love the lace design. I would definitely recommend this bra and would continue to purchase this brand! Natalie from Miami, Florida

This bra has good potential: flattering, comfortable cups, wide back, wide straps but the straps are not adjustable and they are too short for larger sizes (I'm 36E). The tend to put a lot of weight on the shoulders and middle back. After 4–5 hours of wear, I find myself having to untie the bra. Too bad. Anita bras are usually a safe bet for large sizes and their wireless models are very flattering (no uniboob effect). With adjustable straps, this would have been the most comfortable bra ever. Anita makes lovely bras but they are not for women who are short or have short torsos or narrow or sloping shoulders in combination with large breasts. I am 5'3 1/2" and both Anita bras I tried were too wide and and the bands went down halfway to my bellybutton. Too bad, because the cups were superb and the fabric nice. Juanita

This is THE MOST COMFORTABLE Bra I have ever worn. I am a 40A and it is difficult to impossible for me to find a good-fitting bra. It was pretty expensive, but worth it. It fits right, doesn't ride up or down, the shoulder straps stay in place and it is very flattering. I liked it so much I bought a second one in another color. Wearing it now. Ahhh.... great bra. This is the most comfortable bra I have ever owned. I was a little skeptical about purchasing such a pricey bra, but after reading some reviews, decide to try it. I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to buy several more. The bra is made of the softest material and feels soooo soothing against my skin. I have problems with bras poking and digging into my pudgy fat rolls, but this bra doesn't poke, roll up, chafe, or scratch. For a big girl, finding a bra that is comfortable all day is next to impossible. However, this bra does the trick AND is very supportive too. I'm finally comfy and happy with my bra. The bra fit well overall and seemed comfortable except for the straps which were too long. I have a short torso and this did not work well for me. I considered altering it but felt that it was too expensive to possibly ruin. Fran from Massachusetts

The shoulder straps do not adjust, therefor this bra did not work for me. I need the straps to be about 2 inches shorter than what they are. Considering the price of the bra, you would think the straps would adjust for a comfortable fit.

Anita Response: There are no adjusters made into this bra to have the comfort of the straps in the back as well. Otherwise, we would not be able to keep such a wide size in the back and we would need to put smaller straps in there. This way we have wide strap support all the way through. We apologize that it did not fit your body type. Kim from Columbia, IN

I am returning this bra. Since the straps are not adjustable it kept riding up and was pretty uncomfortable.

Anita Response: 5409 is one of our most supportive Anita comfort bras so the fabric is very firm and shaping. This bra style is not designed to allow a lot of adjustment. When the bra is riding up in the back, either the straps are too short or the under bust size is too wide, so the balance between straps and under bust band is not correct. With an indicated size 40A we would not recommend a high support bra like #5409 and rather go for a lighter Anita comfort style like #5448 Safina with adjustable straps. Over the last couple of years I have spent hundreds of dollars trying different bras. I detest underwires and refuse to wear them on a regular basis. However, it is almost impossible to find a bra with decent support without underwire. I do however own three of these bras now and really like them. They are very supportive for a bra with no underwire. I love the fabric, it's luxurious and soft, nothing itchy. The only problem with the bra is the straps are not adjustable and I had to take mine in by about an inch which made a big difference. I don't mind spending the money for a good quality comfortable bra...these are definitely pricey, maybe a little too high but sometimes it's hard to put a price on comfort. This bra has a very soft silky feel, but does not have the support I would like. Maybe I should have ordered a size smaller since the strap seems to slip off my shoulder at times. Doris from StLouis MO USA

Very comfortable but unfortunately not suited for full breast since the shoulder straps have no adjustments. Within a couple of hours, my breasts were hanging down to my belly. Luxurious fabric and very comfortable but not suited to wearing except for lounging and for $92, that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend.

Anita Response: The customer indicates, that the bra was moving and couldn't hold the breast. This is an indication, that the bra size isn't correct and the band size is too loose. If the size is correct, the bra should only be adjusted a little bit through the day. Style 5409 has an elastic part in the back part of the strap taking care of that through the day. Style 5409 is one of our best-selling comfort bras especially in big cups and sizes because of it's supportive fitting. joan from south salem, ny, usa

Good construction. Good idea. Usually Anita bras are wonderful for me. On me and in my (newly smaller rib same cup) size however; this bra didn't work. It made me look like squished like a minimizer. Felt tight, constricting and not at all comfortable. If you try it, think about 1 size or 1 cup bigger than you usually do.

Vendor Response: #5409 is one of our most supportive bra styles and constructed to fit tight, but shouldn't be too tight or uncomfortable. The customer is indicating a change in her bra size, so probably the fitting wasn't correct. We recommend to use our sizing chart to measure the right size. In general #5409 is one of our bestselling comfort bras and wear-tested by many women of all sizes. Debbie from Charlotte, NC

This is the BEST bra for finicky women! I am pudgy and have issues with straps cutting into my shoulders, material that is too rigid, material that isn't supportive enough, the way they sew bras to have really scratchy, if not sharp, edges, etc. I forgot that I ordered this (it was on back order for almost 6 months), but I'm glad it was sent! The straps would be nice if they were adjustable. I'm 5'5 and the site said the straps would be a good fit for me. I may try to alter them shorter but they are at least viable. The material is soft, but supportive. It doesn't cut into my arms or pinch in the back. The back rides up but minimally... which is saying something for a bra! I also wish the cups wouldn't jut out like something out of Madonna's closet, but at least there aren't points on the end, but they may just be my getting used to a new "fit". Overall, I recommend this bra. I WISH it were more affordable... but alas, if you are finicky and larger, this seems to be the norm. Susan from OP, KS

I was really looking forward to the "perfect" bra, but I was miserable in it. I might be able to tolerate this bra for a couple hours on a night out, but never for a day at work. I'm 5'8", but this bra is made for someone about 5'5". The straps are too short so the bottom band rides up way too high in back and the front bottom band rolls up. The cup size was great. I found that the band sizing is small. I should have ordered a size larger because it was tighter than other bras the same size.

Anita Response: #5409 is one of our strongest comfort bras, which gives a lot of support. The consumer mentioned that the band size is too small for her, so the support can turn into pressure and can become uncomfortable. The back has elastic parts, but can't be adjusted, so for a 5'8'' tall woman with a 48 band size, this is probably not the perfect style. We would recommend an Anita bra with adjustable straps and for Cup A she probably doesn't need the support of 5409, so maybe she would feel more comfortable with Anita 5448 or Anita 5427. H cup seems not true to size, fits very tightly, should be an HH cup

Anita Response: We develop our bras according to the Anita size chart. Each bra is based on a standard sizing in the industry. The bras are wear tested by many women of all sizes. We would recommend to use the Anita sizing chart to find the right bra size. Sonja from Maryland
