Anita Cotton Nursing Bra with Kwik Klip 5051 Reviews

I was excited to try this bra, expecting that it would be very supportive. I was very dissappointed. It did fit correctly, I used the HerRoom Universal Cup Sizing chart and the bra size on the tag is 32I and the underbreast/back support was good pitty the cup design let it down. I agree with the above comments this bra some how puts pressure on the top half of your chest/breast area and feels like it pushes your breast down, very uncomfortable and there is not much adjustment in the shoulder straps. I cannot return it as it is a sale item :(

Anita Response: We do apologize for the circumstances but this bra is made to fit in larger cup sizes and the material is therefore very rigid. Maybe you do need a diff. size to make it fit for you. Carla from Australia

Seems to be constructed well; however, not suitable for very heavy breasts. Pushed my breasts down and to the side, giving no support and unattractive shaping.

This bra had two problems for me. First the cups come up really high, so it won't work with even moderate V-neck shirts. Second, the cups/side of the bra are also really high. It digs into the arm-pit area. The side seam measured 7.5 inches, 2 full inches taller than my Fancee Free nursing bra. This may be fine for taller women, but it was very uncomfortable for me. I'll give this bra 4 stars instead of 5 because it stretches out really quickly. I originally bought the 38band and it stretched out really quickly and I needed the 36 instead. The cups are the right size and the unsnapping is super easy. I just wish I could shorten the straps more! (they also stretch). I feel low in this bra - but this is BY FAR one of the best nursing bras I own. This and the Freya are my constants! Sara from NYC

Very comfortable, fits extremely well, and I like the cotton and cup closure. However, this is generally an "around the house" nursing bra, as with other cotton nursing bras, it doesn't give a great deal of lift and therefore is not really one I would wear to work. Anastasia from Santa Rosa, CA

Its easy enough to nurse in, but doesn't really give me the lift I need when not nursing. The problem I had is the breathable fabric the sides/back is made out of has holes. So, when removing it after having this bra for less than a month it got ripped near the closure. So, both sides near the closure have holes from my fingers. The holes in the breathable fabric made this easier to occur. So, its not such a great design. Costs a lot for something that isn't durable. Erin from DeLand/FL/USA

I am fairly pleased with this bra. I have to admit I was pretty skeptical about how much support a soft cup bra could provide me (being a 34I), but since you're not supposed to wear underwires while breastfeeding, I decided to give it a try. The support is just about as good as the best underwire bra I've ever owned. Also, the band is made of an excellent quality material and shows no signs of stretching with wear. It's also surprisingly breathable for being such a supportive bra. There are loops near the hooks for easy one-handed access for breastfeeding, which is another plus. That said though, the appearance of this bra is lacking, quite a bit. In my opinion, the cups come up excessively high (more like body armor than a bra) so that I cannot wear it with any of my nursing tops. And it makes my breasts look strange under my tee shirt. It sort of makes them look lifted, pointy and flattened. Another issue I have with it is that the seams on the cup tend to irritate me, making it uncomfortable to wear for more than a few short hours. Finally, if you're tall, you might have a problem with the length of the bra straps. I'm 5'8" and had to extend the bra straps almost all the way. If you have a longer torso than I do, you might have some issues with the straps being too tight. Erica from Bloomington, In, USA

This bra is super comfortable and supportive. I really like the shape it gives me...almost a retro look (some reviewers commented on not liking it, but I do). While I enjoy underwire bras in "real life," it just doesn't work out for me to wear underwire bras while nursing. This is the best support of any wireless bra that I've used in the past year. Of note, the "Kwik Klip" feature is a good idea, but doesn't work in practice. One still needs to manipulate the clip itself rather than the little ribbon loop. Not a big deal, but just wanted to mention it. Also, another slight drawback for me is that the cup doesn't easily drop away, making it necessary to reach in and "remove" my breast when it's nursing time. This bra is super comfy but doesn't open well which is a problem when you're breast feeding. I wish I'd tried to open it before I washed it so that I could return it. However, since I did wash it I've been wearing it and it is really comfortable. It's nice that it comes in such large cups with a small band size. This bra did not give me enough support or lift. The little ribbons that are supposed to give you a quick way to undo the nursing flap were laughable, at least for an I cup like me--they didn't even come close to unlatching the flap. Peregrin from Michigan/USA

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical at first based on some of the reviews that I had read. Based on the online measurement, I was a 42H and I couldn't believe that I would have to get a bra that big. I was 12 weeks and my pre-pregnancy size was a 34F. Well, I decided to follow what was recommended on the site and the bra fits perfectly. I had also developed deep and painful bruises on both sides of my body near the top of my rib cage from not having the right size (can you tell this is my first pregnancy)? so I had to get something immediately. I was pleasantly surprised when I put this bra on; it was instant relief; this bra was worth the money; no irritations to my sensitive nipples and my side bruises have completely healed. I LOVE this bra. It is not very sexy... but when you are nursing, who cares!! (especially if you have had mastitis from a bra that was too small). this bra is so comfortable on the cups, and on the straps, and on the back. it is designed for comfort. I wouldn't go running in this bra, but it is nice and supportive for everyday use, without being restrictive or uncomfortable. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was because there was a small stitching problem on the cup. I sewed this up myself and it is as good as new. I would totally recommend this bra. I'm nursing my second child and have tried a lot of nursing bras. Being on the larger end of the spectrum, (I'm 6' tall), many bras are not very supportive which can make lactating breasts very painful. When I put this bra on, it was like, "aaaahhhh." Finally a bra that fits like it was made for a woman my size. It is supportive, comfortable and the fabric is perfect for summer time. It is made in Poland. In Europe, I believe breastfeeding is more common and therefore they may have worked out the details for a good bra a little better than here. I will be buying more of these! BTW, I measured myself using the site's instructions and the bra fits just right. I was surprised I was a couple of sizes larger than I expected, but went with that recommendation and I'm glad I did. I returned this bra. I have several Anita underwire bras that I love and was looking for something cotton to wear around the house. The seams in the cup have me an awful torpedo shape with inadequate support and the straps were way too thin for a larger bust (which is unlike all the other Anita bras I have.) I found this item to have too much material for a women with a short torso. Also, because my breast are so large and uneven this bra seemed to not contain the "girls" inside their appropriate cup side. My larger breast kept going into the smaller side cup and when I tested the kwik-klip to see how it would work - the front center of the bra flopped over and made it uncomfortable to nurse discreetly. I am going to stick with the underwire versions to hold the "girls" up and in their place; and go a cup size up to see if those types would look and feel better for me now that I am nursing. I've always had difficulty finding bras that fit since puberty so I am grateful for limited vendors like HerRoom.com. thanks. Mildred from NJ
